I bought my car here years ago and haven't had any problems. Even the service center is great. I don't know what the other customers ratings are from but if they had told Mr. Pruitt what was going o problems. Even the service center is great. I don't know what the other customers ratings are from but if they had told Mr. Pruitt what was going on he would have fixed it ...he prides himself on fixing any problems no exceptions. I am very picky and this dealership goes above and beyond. More
I have used two different Honda dealers to service my vehicle over the years...one used to be close to my work (Rick Roush in Medina) while MP is close to my home. MP could sometime be a little high, but vehicle over the years...one used to be close to my work (Rick Roush in Medina) while MP is close to my home. MP could sometime be a little high, but I have normally been happy w/their service so I would routinely use them. I just took my Honda into MP Service with a weird noise from one of the rear wheels. The service guy I usually work with had another customer he was with so one of the other service guys took care of me. He drove it and had the mechanic inspect it, he then called me and said the mechanic was recommending new rear rotors/pads on my Honda and was going to be $856 if they used Honda parts (which he HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended), or he could save me a bunch of money and do it for $730 (BIG savings, right? not) for non-honda parts. He could tell I was taken back with the dollar amount, so he said he could work in some type of discount because he wanted to help me out, I just told him I didn't have that type of money to do it right now. He then charged me just over $50 to get my car back since they had "time" into checking out the problem...even though I've been a long time service customer. I knew the price was incredibly high so I had an independent mechanic shop that's performed work for me over the years give me a price and they quoted me $250 for the non-honda parts to do the same work. I then called the other area Honda Dealer I've used before (my old work was very close to them, Rick Roush in Medina) and they quoted me $400 for Honda parts and $300 for non-Honda parts. So, it looks like this particular service guy or the mechanic (or both) were trying to be a little opportunistic since I regularly use their service department and was dressed nicely because of a business meeting I had just came from. THE GUY FROM MP HONDA WAS TRYING TO CHARGE ME MORE THAN DOUBLE FOR THE ROTORS/PADS THAN ANOTHER AREA HONDA DEALERSHIP(RICK ROUSH IN MEDINA, GO THERE INSTEAD!!!). Sad thing is that if MP would've quoted me the normal prices (about $300 for non-Honda parts), I would've just had them do the work without even getting another price because I had a rough idea of what it should cost!!! I'll NEVER step foot into MP again unless I have to. I actually feel bad for the service guy there that normally takes care of me, I think he was normally fair and honest. But now, they'll get NOTHING from me excpet me telling everyone else what happened so people can be on the lookout before they use MP Honda. By the sounds of some other reviews I've read on MP, seems that some of their salespeople and salesmanagers engage in scamming people too on new car sales. It's a shame, because I don't think that everyone there is a scammer (I've heard Mike Pruitt speak at some business functions and was always highly impressed by him)...but it only takes a couple of bad apples to tarnish the image of an entire organization. SOMEONE HAS ALLOWED IT, and unfortunately they're losing me as a long time customer because of it. More
We went to buy a used Honda Accord in 2007. If I knew about this site sooner, I would have entered this in a month later. We test drove the vehicle and took it off the lot on a Sunday. The brakes squeake about this site sooner, I would have entered this in a month later. We test drove the vehicle and took it off the lot on a Sunday. The brakes squeaked and they assured us that it was because they were new and because the car was certified it had to have an inspection before they put it for sale on the lot. I called back on Monday and explained the sqeaking. They never returned my call. On Tuesday they called because they sold our trade-in vehicle and wanted to spare keys. I told them I would send them once someone called about the brakes. 2009...still have spare keys. They never called and thanked us for the purchase, no one ever called and asked how we like the car and the dealership has never sent any coupons or promations in the mail. We receive promotions from a local dealer in our area but never anything from here. The car had a few minor scratches and they were going to mail some matching paint. Never happened. Once the car was home and we started cleaning, it was surface cleaned but the detailing was dirty. Not was I would have expected. Although I am dissatisfied with their service, I love the car. Next time I purchase a Honda, I will go somewhere else. More
I am extremely upset about the business practices of Mike Pruitt Honda, that I thought the public should be aware of. We just went over to there dealership this afternoon to purchase a Honda Civic. We want Pruitt Honda, that I thought the public should be aware of. We just went over to there dealership this afternoon to purchase a Honda Civic. We wanted a car that gets better gas mileage, and is reputable. But now we have a sour taste in our mouths. Here is our story: We were wanting to trade in a 2005 Kia Sedona minivan. We still owe $5747.01 on it. So before going to the dealership we looked up the trade-in amount on the Honda website there website said: fair- $5780, good- $6735 excellent- $7300. You would think that there website would be pretty close to the right amount, obviously barring major problems. Our van would be somewhere between good and fair. So we went in to the store from Canton. Once we got there the Salesman got all the information about our van - the mileage, year, make, payoff, etc. Then he took the keys had it looked at and said he would be right back. When he came back he had a customer worksheet that had the info about the van, and they wrote the payoff amount on the paper, and in big green letters wrote "payoff" for the trade. So we felt that we were actually losing some of the value in our trade but we were willing to go ahead and trade it in and purchase the Civic. We then filled out all the paperwork, were approved for the 2.9% credit, and were ready to sign the papers. The very last paper that was to be signed was the actual bill of sale, before we signed the paper we looked it over carefully and noticed that the bottom line was high. So we looked over line by line and noticed that they actually were only giving us $3800 for the trade, and were going to roll in the loss in the new loan. When we caught this the salesman said that we were okay with the monthly payment that he has showed us on the customer worksheet, but we were obviously unable to calculate the monthly payment in our heads, so it did not seem far off. But they were being very deceptive and tried to basically steal $2000 from us. Also, when we pointed this out to the salesperson, he said don't shoot the messenger, he does what he his told. This dealer obviously is very shady and is not up front with the costs. We are very thankful that we caught it before we signed the contract. We also have all the paperwork, because we could not trust them to get rid of it. Also the bill of sale contradicts itself. I just feel that public should be aware of their dishonesty. You half expect this from a little used car dealer but not a big Honda dealership. More
This was a great dealership to go to! My boyfriend and I were car shopping for months and were having no luck at dead-end and sleazy dealerships-- corner lots and large, suit-and-tie lots alike. Yesterd were car shopping for months and were having no luck at dead-end and sleazy dealerships-- corner lots and large, suit-and-tie lots alike. Yesterday, we were on our way to Chapel Hill Mall when we decided, quite randomly, to stop in Mike Pruitt Honda's lot and see if they had anything. We saw a Mitsubishi Montero Sport and were "inspecting" it when Tim walked over to us and asked if we needed any help or had any questions. We explained that we had been searching for an SUV for a while and that we were "just looking," a statement that usually seems to deter salesmen, but he talked with us, genuinely, and pointed out the benefits and the downsides of owning the vehicle without beating around the bush. He also asked us about the price range we were working with and offered to help get us a price we could all agree on. Tonight, we stopped back-- just to see if any advances were made. They were! Tim had worked with his team members and had somehow managed to come up with an incredibly affordable price on this vehicle! We took it for two test drives-- once around town and once on Route 8. Before we knew it, we were signing papers to make the Montero our own. Who would've guessed that we'd be buying a car we'd only looked at for less than 48 hours? We didn't think we'd even FIND a qualified vehicle so soon, but with Tim's help, my boyfriend and I are now the proud owners of a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport! Thanks, Mike Pruitt's Honda, for great service, a sincere and friendly staff, and a great price on (now our) "perfect" vehicle! More
Stellar dealership, I purchased a $30,000 car from out of state because the local dealers would not budge off MSRP. The 8 hour 500 mile trip, (one way), was worth the time. We planned a long weekend family state because the local dealers would not budge off MSRP. The 8 hour 500 mile trip, (one way), was worth the time. We planned a long weekend family getaway around this purchase and spent some time in Cleveland at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. No hassles at Pruitt's or any pressure to buy add-ons like rust proofing, extended warrantee, etc. In and out in well under an hour. I'll be buying my next Honda from these guys. More
