I just purchased my first Subaru (Outback) from Metrowest, and could not be happier. My decision to purchase a Subaru was made long before deciding on a dealer to work with. With that being the Metrowest, and could not be happier. My decision to purchase a Subaru was made long before deciding on a dealer to work with. With that being the first step, I was then left with the decision of where to buy the car. This was a very involved process, as there are several options in the area. My approach was to visit a dealer, get a sense of what they were looking for, and see if if matched what I was looking for (which by the way was a good deal and a long-term relationship). What I got from almost all of the not to be named dealers was an attempt to size me up to see how deep my wallet was, a pre-judgement of how I could help them meet their quota for the month, and focus only on a quick, one time sale. No thank you! What I got with Metrowest, and more specifically Jeff Ricard, was the following. Jeff allowed me to spend time getting to know him, and what he and Metrowest stood for. At no time did he ask how much I had to spend, or try to push me into an immediate sale. At the end of our conversation, we shook hands, and left it at that. I got the information that I needed, and didn't feel pressured. Sign me up! From there, the negotiation was handled very fairly and was also very transparent. The end result was that I am in a great car, and have linked up with a dealership that I will work with for a very long time. If you want a dealer that will treat you with respect, and look to provide a win/win outcome, Jeff and Metrowest will deliver that. More
Emailed the salesman from whom we bought the 2011 car about a recall notice repair and fixing a side mirror. No response. Called the service department, and Mike suggested bringing the car in (40 minut about a recall notice repair and fixing a side mirror. No response. Called the service department, and Mike suggested bringing the car in (40 minute drive) to look at the mirror, first emailing him pictures of the mirror so that he could see if they could repair it with parts in stock. I send him the pictures, then brought the car in at the agreed on time and day. No sign of Mike. The service desk knew nothing of pictures. Bob Montpelier sold ($120) me an oil change and tire rotation (at, it turned out when I looked it up at home, more than twice the price usually charged for a synthetic oil change), said they'd check on the mirror, and promised a wait of 1.5-2 hours, short enough so that I wouldn't need a loaner. The wait turned out to be 3 hours. The mirror, fully functional except for a crack in the housing, would need to be completely replaced said Bob, at a cost of $360 ($210 is the MSRP, $160 is the standard online price) and a wait of another 3-5 business days, plus another round trip to see them. On departing, I found that in replacing the center seat belt, they had removed the child's seat in back -- which they didn't mention -- without reattaching it. Time, money, honesty, responsiveness -- you name it, they didn't have it. More
Had a great experience with Jeff Ricard when purchasing a used car. He was professional, honest, and courteous. He went out of his way to make sure the used car was as good as it could be. He had the carpe used car. He was professional, honest, and courteous. He went out of his way to make sure the used car was as good as it could be. He had the carpets shampooed a second time and ran the ionizer to make sure the interior smelled as good as it could be. The car is like new. And, he drove an hour to meet us for delivery! I highly recommend working with Jeff!! More
I am a fussy shopper and basically don't trust stock brokers or car dealerships. I am not sure which are worse. But I needed a new car, and after owning two Subarus that was all that I wanted to look brokers or car dealerships. I am not sure which are worse. But I needed a new car, and after owning two Subarus that was all that I wanted to look at. I went online and had lots of good and reasonable offers for the car I wanted from the various Subaru dealers in the area. I gave only a slight preference to MetroWest Subaru because of closeness to my home. I was quite prepared to go to another dealer if price or any aspect of the relationship did not go right. The salesman we worked with was Marc Soloway. I guess the best thing a customer can say is that I would buy from him again. There was no bull***t in the dealing. Marc was honest and very helpful. The negotiation was straight forward with Marc the 'middleman' between his management and me. We arrived at what I felt was a very fair deal. When the car was ready Marc did not just hand me the keys with wishes of happy driving. Instead, he patiently took all the time necessary for my spouse and I to understand and operate all the features of the car. Not a small feat given all the Bluetooth and other electronic features. All in all, I am a happy customer thanks to Mark. I plan to write another review after I have had sufficient time to judge the service department. More
sam worked with us on our outback on 2007,so when it was time to replace our nissan we called sam to look into used subarus.sam had us go through the lot to see what caught our eye then we sat down and look time to replace our nissan we called sam to look into used subarus.sam had us go through the lot to see what caught our eye then we sat down and looked at fact sheets on each, feeling out our needs and desires, talked about pros and cons on subarus and non subarus on the lot and the internet,he showed us every thing, costs vs mileage, models, finally together zeroed in on 3 to 5 year old imprezas, one recent tradein suited our needs perfectly, also, mary in financial office came in 2 hours early to accommodate my work schedule, More
I had a very bad buying experience with thie Metrowest Sudaru dealership. I came to buy a new car and their sales team of 3 agressively pushed me to buy their used 2012 car for the price of a new one. The Sudaru dealership. I came to buy a new car and their sales team of 3 agressively pushed me to buy their used 2012 car for the price of a new one. They also offered to trade in my other car for a very low price (20% under the fare market price.) After 1.5 hours of negotiation and mostly waiting for them to look up data on their computer and just before signing, I decided to get out of the deal and leave but then the sales person said: " We did not spend the 2 hours overtime for nothing" They have already pulled out the plate from my car and they gave no sign that they are going to put it back soon. Instead they asked for a few more minutes to talk to their management on a price reduction. The more senior sales person came back after another 1/2 an hour with a resonable price for my trade in car and a price that was about 10% above the fare market price for the Subaru. I ended up buying the car. I enjoy the car... but I will never buy a car from this dealership. I will never again spend hours in waiting for the sales person to talk to his manager and for the manager to talk to his manager just to find out that I paid more than the fair market price. I felt exhosted after this buying experience. Post sale customer service was good. More
We were looking for a used Forester and found the exact car we wanted on the lot, gave it a drive and began to negotiate. Jeff was pleasant to deal with and in response to the overall price of the car, re car we wanted on the lot, gave it a drive and began to negotiate. Jeff was pleasant to deal with and in response to the overall price of the car, responded with "It's what you want to pay for it." Now really. The dealership may have budged $50 on their original price after a good hour of negotiating. In addition, I didn't feel heard when I asked to begin with overall price v. monthly payment options. I had to ask 3 times before he began speaking on my terms. We walked away from a great car that we would have bought because the dealer was not willing to negotiate at a level we felt was appropriate, and while we were negotiating, I was checking KBB for appropriate pricing. We walked away from a beautiful, quality, used car, went down the road and purchased a brand new Forester for $3k more at Patrick Subaru where they were willing to give us a beyond fair price for a car. I picked up my new car last night, which had just been delivered from the port, with only 6 miles on it, v. a car with 30K on it! #happiness! More
Josh Geller was a great salesman. He not only came in to work on his day off to allow me to pick up my car on the day I preferred. He went so far as to come to my house to give my old car a jump start so th work on his day off to allow me to pick up my car on the day I preferred. He went so far as to come to my house to give my old car a jump start so that I could get to the dealership! The dealership is very fortunate to have such a dedicated salesperson. I can't believe this is the sort of employee that most companies have the advantage of being able to hire, More
I just purchased a new Subaru from Metrowest. I started this process months back, and selected the dealer I wished to work with based on the customer service they provided to me over time (ie, respecting m this process months back, and selected the dealer I wished to work with based on the customer service they provided to me over time (ie, respecting my contact preferences, accuracy of info, friendliness of interactions). Metrowest won hands down. Their business development manager, Diana, was really fabulous about giving me any info I requested yet not pressuring me or contacting me outside the bounds of necessary communication. (Unlike every single other dealer, whose emails I eventually had to mark as "spam" because they would not, even on direct request, stop coming.) Anyhow. It also worked out because I'm a Costco member, and this is the Mass. dealership with which they work for their Auto Program. Ultimately I'm very glad this coincided with my free choice in the matter, because I got an excellent price and the process was completely painless. For service on-site, I worked with Jeff. He was friendly, down to earth, and very knowledgeable. There aren't many 2013 Imprezas floating around at the moment, and I appreciated that they found another dealer--in Maine--with whom to trade so I could get the car I wanted, faster. I know they're out to make money and the faster they sell a car the faster they make it, but that's fine. They have to earn a living, too. Jeff spent a ton of time with me and my husband on our test-drive visit (a much more satisfactory and informative test drive than I had at Clay, in Norwood). He also (a) was willing to come in on his off days if that was the time that would work best for me to pick up the car, and then (b) agreed--he was sort of volunteered by another staff member--to just drive the car out to me at my office when the paperwork was done on it, to save me the trip. So, yeah. That's pretty cool. He also took charge of getting our old POS donated to charity, which saved us some hassle. The other staff member I just mentioned was Mary, the finance manager. So awesome. She did a bit of successful up-selling in terms of warranty and extras, but without pressure--just laying out her opinion and my options. She gave me an absolutely phenomenal rate, gave me some good and pertinent credit advice, and in general made me feel well taken care of. She made things quite clear and was patient with me when I wanted things explained a few times. I hope that they turn out to be a good service provider, long-term, but the customer service I have so far experienced has been stellar and I would recommend them to anyone. More
We were pleasantly surprised with our experience at Metrowest Subaru. We went in, considering the purchase of a Forester, and we were expecting a very aggressive sales call, which had been our experie Metrowest Subaru. We went in, considering the purchase of a Forester, and we were expecting a very aggressive sales call, which had been our experience with other dealerships. Not the case with Metrowest Subaru. The salesman, Marty Ross, was very professional, very knowledgeable, and very attentive. He was totally focused on us and making our experience as good as it could be. We found Metrowest to be very straightforward in their pricing, and the employees acted more like sales consultants who were there to help you with what YOUR needs are. We left, buying a Subaru Outback, because we happened to prefer that. Marty, his manager, and the billing associate made each step very smooth, and they could not have been nicer or more accommodating. More
