Both the General Sales Manager and the General Manager of the Dealership were extremely unprofessional, and were only remotely pleasant prior to the sale. I bought a 2007 Acura TL type S from their dealer the Dealership were extremely unprofessional, and were only remotely pleasant prior to the sale. I bought a 2007 Acura TL type S from their dealership in July. The price that I got was equal to Clair Acura. The only difference was, Herb Connolly was a demo car with 5k miles on it, and Clair's was brand new with 0 miles on it. Because the Demo had 5k miles on it, and was in actually a used car at this point, they offerred 2 years of free maint. That means 2 years of free oil changes, etc.., to me its worth the 5k on the car. Well, when my car hit 21k miles, I called to get an oil change, and they said that I no longer have free maint, it is 20k miles or 2 years! The 20k miles was never disclosed, and let me ask you all, would you ever get a demo for the same price as the new car for 2 free oil changes! Of course you wouldn't, nobody would. When I picked up the car, I had to wait about 5 hours for them to take the car out of the showroom, clean out the car, add teflon protection that I requested etc.., and by the way, they new that I was comming in the day prior. They still did not add the remote starter that I requested, so I had to drive back there and leave the car for another day so that they can install. While driving the car home, after finally getting the car off the lot, my check engine light came on; approximately 10 miles in route. THE CAR NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!! About 2 days after I owned the car, Acura called me about a survey, they asked me how my experience was, and well I was honest; it was awful! It has now been about 6 months since I bought the car, I called the dealership and spoke to both Bill Tulloch and Chris Connolly, both of them were extremely rude and unprofessional. When asked about the 2 years that I was promised, they basically told me to go pound sand. BOTH OF THEM REFERRED ME TO THE GUY THAT GAVE THEM THE BAD SURVEY!!!! I REPEAT, THEY USED THE SURVEY AS A REASON TO NOT HELP ME IN ANY WAY! ISN'T THE POINT OF A SURVEY, TO LEARN, AND MAYBE CORRECT THE SITUATION? They told me that I was the one that gave everybody a hard time at the dealership. I didn't give anyone a hard time, unless they did their job wrong. If thats the case, you deserve what you get, I am spending nearly $40k on a car. If anyone wants anymore detailed info about this dealership, feel free to email me, this is a total hack dealership, and do not trust them! bryanaucoin@aim.com - and check www.bbb.com before dealing with any dealership. I was buying my very first new car ever. It was a pretty big deal for me , being young and always buying pre owned vehicles. Both my salesperson, Brendan Chamberlin, and his manager, Chris Sergent, made me big deal for me , being young and always buying pre owned vehicles. Both my salesperson, Brendan Chamberlin, and his manager, Chris Sergent, made me feel comfortable and made sure I was happy and satisfied with my purchase. I love my new car so much and there is no where else I take my vehicle for service or anything else it may need. These two individuals are just a small part of such a great group of people there at the Herb Connolly family, who are always making sure that you, as the customer, are leaving with a smile on your face. I recommend Herb Connolly Acura to everyone. Again, I have been to other places, shopped around for sales prior to my purchase and even to different dealerships in the boston area for service. No one comes close. More
This was by far the best car buying experience I have ever had(and I am a very demanding customer). Peter was great, he stopped at nothing to make sure that I was happy as well as choosing the right car ever had(and I am a very demanding customer). Peter was great, he stopped at nothing to make sure that I was happy as well as choosing the right car for my wants and needs. Everyone that I dealt with was willing to go out of their way to make sure that my needs were met. I got the best price(I shopped everyone) and had the best experience, I will never go any where else to buy a car. I recomend Herb Connolly Acura to everyone, especially if you have had a bad experience elsewhere. More
I hade put a desposit on a car. I went to purchase the car and they had sold it to someone else without calling me to. The GM did not try to make matters better. He insisted that what they did was correct car and they had sold it to someone else without calling me to. The GM did not try to make matters better. He insisted that what they did was correct and did not try to apologize or try to correct the situation by offering other alternatives. More
I bought a 2006 MDX from Phillip. He did a wonderful job. There was no pressure. He answered all my questions, and made negotiations painless. When the sale was complete, I was introduced to the serv job. There was no pressure. He answered all my questions, and made negotiations painless. When the sale was complete, I was introduced to the service department, and all the management. They were all excellent. The owner Chris Connolly even greeted me. They made feel like I was part of their family. Herb Connolly Acura has earned a life long customer, and I have since purchased a 2006 TL for my wife. Great Job Phillip. Great Job Herb Connolly Acura. :) More
This rating covers 3 separate purchace attempts over the past 3 yrs(not all 3 cars were for me). The first time they just didn't have the car or the pricing, the second attempt, we set up an appointment past 3 yrs(not all 3 cars were for me). The first time they just didn't have the car or the pricing, the second attempt, we set up an appointment to test drive and confirmed it twice before we got there. When we arrived, neither the car nor the salesman were ready and finally we were pushed off with some old fellow who knew absolutely nothing about the cars. The third (and final) time, they had a "special sale" which among other things, offered "fair market value for your trade". Well, come to find out that "fair" to them meant that they rated the trade to be in "fair" condition when looked up in Kelly Blue Book. My car was is pristine conditon with VERY low miles. I walked out never to return again even though they are only 3 miles away. So my advice is "Buyer Beware"!!! More
I went to test drive a TSX at the Acura dealership in Brighton. The salesman there was nice enough, but the next few days he called my cell phone over 20 times and left no fewer than 10 voicemails. I Brighton. The salesman there was nice enough, but the next few days he called my cell phone over 20 times and left no fewer than 10 voicemails. I ended up buying a 2006 TSX from Clyde Brown at Herb Connelly. Clyde is their internet salesman and was wonderful to deal with. All in all I had a great experience at Herb Connolly. The finance manager was very polite, no pressure as well. All in all I got a great car at a great price without all the typical pressure tactics. Highly recommended. More
My husband and I went to this dealership to look at an Acura TSX. We loved the car but our experiance here was horrible. We felt taken advantage of and very pressured. We had two trades and they weren Acura TSX. We loved the car but our experiance here was horrible. We felt taken advantage of and very pressured. We had two trades and they weren't even going to give us blue book on them, even though one of our trades was in excellent condition with a ton of extra work put into it. Anyway, we went to another dealership that was more than happy to help us and gave us a WAY better deal. I wouldn't recommend them. More
In 2000 I had just moved to Massachusetts and needed a "preventive" 80,000 mile service on my '90 Integra (i.e. timing belt, water pump etc.). They itemized all the work needed or recommended (one transa "preventive" 80,000 mile service on my '90 Integra (i.e. timing belt, water pump etc.). They itemized all the work needed or recommended (one transaxle also needed replacing) and provided a loaner Integra as I was over 15 miles away. Everything was done correctly, to the letter and on time. Three years later, just before auto inspection (isn't it always?), my driver's seatbelt developed the famous plastic "break" that Acura replaces under warranty. Would they do so now? I called, arranged for the fix . .. and they took the car for repair while I waited. Problem: the car needed an auxiliary part to make the belt "work" correctly, one they didn't have in stock. They immediately found a loaner SUV for me until the parts were obtained and the car repaired. This was on a Friday .. . and the car was ready next Monday. EXCELLENT service. A real "thank you" to Herb Connoly Acura and all their staff. An aside. My father bought his 1961 Buick Le Sabre from the grandfather of the current (I believe) dealer owner, when that dealership was located on Comm. Ave. at B.U. field. A fine dealer then (according to my late father) and now! Kudos! More
I brought my car in because I had a mis-fire problem after I got it back from theft. First of all, they would not deal with my insurance. They basically said I had to be the middle person. I was not ver after I got it back from theft. First of all, they would not deal with my insurance. They basically said I had to be the middle person. I was not very pleased with this. I left my car there for them to diagnos, the wouldn't give me a loaner, which I was very dissatisfied. They said they would call me back when they're done with it that day. They did not call me. I called them before they closed, and had them tell me my car is ready for pickup.
They told me that my check engine light had just needed to be reset and everything was fine. They also test drove it and there didn't seem to detect the problem again. I got into the car, and noticed there were 20 or so extra miles on the car. I thought to myself, "as long as they fixxed it". After driving it 2 miles down the road, the check engine light came back on. I brought it back right then, and had to reschedule at no extra cost. They basically joy rode my car, and probably beat the crap out of it.
I brought it back the next day, again they would not give me a loaner. I had to sit in the waiting room for a long time. I finally went to the counter and ask about my car, and the guy told me "O, it was ready a while ago". They diagnosed it again, and told me it was the injectors. I didn't get that done there. I drive away, and immediately as I sped up, I noticed something was on my tires. I got out and looked at it. They put a bolt into my left front tire. I went back immediately again. And they would not pay to get my tires fixxed. I had to pay out of my pocket. What a bunch of morons. Worst service ever.
I did not think it was my injectors that was causing my problem. So I switched all my injectors around, and it was still mis-firing in the exact same cylinder. They had mis-diagnosed my problem. I told them about it, and they would not admit their wrong doing, and would not do any other work to fix my engine unless I get that done first.
The lady I was talking to told me that my valves were out of adjustment and they readjusted it. Then a month later I notice my valve were very noisey, and went back and told them that they must have not tightened my adjuster screw tight enough so it got loose. The same lady looked up the records and said that they never adjusted my valves. So basically she was lying to me, and told me what I wanted to hear about them adjusting my valves. Bunch of liars.
Save yourself some trouble and don't go to the service department here. They think they can get their lies past me, but what they don't know is that I am in the car business also, and that I was partially testing them. They failed.
I do recommand their parts department though. They have been very helpful. More
