Very poor communication and listening skills. Salesperson did not listen to stated priorities. Would only explain that desired model was Motor Trend car of year, etc. I believe this was to try a Salesperson did not listen to stated priorities. Would only explain that desired model was Motor Trend car of year, etc. I believe this was to try and peen me over to accept whatever was convenient for him to sell. Finally had to directly and tersely tell him that he was not listening to me. Limited nationwide search based on his criteria; not mine. Very frustrating. Once we identified a suitable model, he failed to secure it and did not communicate that directly to me--I had to call after three days of not hearing from him to find this out. Intended as a surprise gift for my wife and family, but he called my home instead of my mobile at one point and blew the lid off that plan. Was unable at any point to make a plan or allow me to anticipate upcoming actions. Everything was very reactionary. Never had an update on the arrival of our vehicle at the dealership (claimed unable to track while in transit--something I flatly disbelieve. I am certain MB absolutely knows the status of all their vehicles in the US; where they are, where they are headed, when they will arrive). Didn't seem terribly knowledgeable of all the features of the vehicle and the options. On the plus side, he did make a loaner vehicle available so I could have something in the garage with which to surprise my wife. And he provided a bow for the presentation. The business manager was pleasant and not pushy with all the after-market sales items. Presented the information on request and seemed to be honest with the comparisons and values of the packages. mBrace information for our vehicle was not properly set up. Apparently, that will take a separate visit to fix. A separate salesperson went through the vehicle to demonstrate features. He was friendly, helpful, informative. Wishing we had stumbled into him on the initial visit. Might have had a much different experience. All-in-all, not the MB buying experience I was expecting. Felt much more like I was battling used car salesman through the whole process. Disappointing. (If there is a) Next MB purchase, I will strongly consider going a little farther away to see if we can have a better experience. More
