First-time Mercedes customer My previous car died on the way to work on Friday so I was looking for a replacement for my daily driver. After scouring the local ads, my wife all but insisted on going through a dealer. We both had always wanted a Mercedes so she looked at the listings here and after a few minutes, she turned the laptop so I could see the screen and asked, "What about this one?" It was within our budget, a model we both liked (E320), and it was in immaculate condition. I thought for sure it would sell quickly so I called and was put through to my Jerome Boyd, Jr. who told me it was still available. He invited me to come and see it and on arrival, he told me the car was just outside "cooling off" (it was in the 90s) and that he'd be right with me. Despite my wife telling me not to fall in love at first sight, as soon as I saw it, it was too late! I don't need to relate how great the Mercedes line is, but as a (now former) consumer of American cars, I was overwhelmed with the quality, fit and finish, engine, and the cockpit. Mr. Boyd came out and showed me the basics of the layout so we could get on the road. I was sold before we got out of the parking lot and the further we went, the more I liked it. We even tested the automatic feature of the windshield wipers on I-264. Usually when one buys a car, the salesman hands you the keys and says, "Enjoy your car." Not Mr. Boyd. We spent a good half-hour going over the menus, features, until he was satisfied I knew as much as I could about the car and the engineering behind it. Needless to say, I am a very happy and satisfied customer. More
