The experience of purchasing a certified pre-owned Mercedes at Mercedes-Benz of Denver has been the absolute worst car buying experience of my life. This dealership, a Sonic Corporation-owned store, i Mercedes at Mercedes-Benz of Denver has been the absolute worst car buying experience of my life. This dealership, a Sonic Corporation-owned store, is run extremely poorly. The staff apparently are hand-picked for being inefficient, confused, rude and difficult to work with. My experience tells me the very top of the dealership, the GM, is the main reason this organization operates the way it operates. As a remote collector/buyer, I buy several cars a year and sell a few so I know how to deal with dealerships across the nation and how to make things work, from reasonably negotiating to taking care of my end of the bargain and recognizing those who go the extra mile to meet goals. My purchase experience here dragged on for over 2 months, as strange as that may sound, due to very poor communication at every level of the organization, misrepresentation at multiple occasions, untrained and unhappy staff (who also have no respect for the leadership), inefficiencies in nearly every department, and the unwillingness by the GM of the dealership to, first, understand and accept problems and, next, to either fix the problems, compensate for the shortcomings, or at the minimum apologize. It’s sad that the leadership of this organization has no idea what customer service is, has a difficult time reading more than a paragraph, is clueless about how human beings should communicate (politely and respectfully and apologetically, even if they don’t agree with customer’s point of view), and how to go the extra mile to make things right. As a result, after more than 2 months of the dealership holding on to my money, the deal had to be reversed and all the time and effort spent at my end and theirs were completely wasted. Overall, if I could rate the experience 0-stars, I would as even 1-star is hard to justify given the colossal waste of time and the damage caused to my sanity! More
