The client had an appointment for 4:00 so that we could have a technician review his concerns while he waited. He was specifically explained the importance of the 4:00 arrival time. He unfortunately showed up two hours late with no technician available since they go home at 5:00 pm. He was never promised a loaner car. His concern was whether of not the eco start/stop feature was working properly. I explained that it is unlikely that the eco start/stop feature is malfunctioning if there is not an indication of a malfunction in the instrument cluster. I also attempted several times to explain that the system looks at many parameters to decide if or when to turn the engine off at a stop and that it is normal for it not to turn the engine off at every stop. Just a few of the parameters are battery charge level, engine operating temperature, and outside ambient temperature, among many others. I was interrupted many times while I attempted to explain. He was speaking very loudly in an area where other clients were, he used profanity toward me in the same area. His attitude was extremely inappropriate especially in this public area. Many other employees were witness to the scene he made. At the end of the day it seemed he only cared about being given the use of one of our loaner vehicles. When I tried to explain his concerns were not things we would provide a loaner vehicle for he became agitated. I did offer to cover the cost of an Uber home if he wanted to leave his vehicle which he rejected. We make every attempt to accommodate and satisfy out clients requests when they are reasonable. The way this client handled himself was extremely inappropriate and very unappreciated. I expect our clients to be as respectful of our staff as I equally expect my staff to be with clients. I had to get involved because my staff came and asked me to assist with an unruly client. If the client is willing to bring the vehicle when a technician is available we would be happy to see if his concerns have any warrant.
