Not only has the Service Department refused to timely correct two Subaru recall problems--air bag and windshield wiper motor--two messages left for management to contact me have gone unaddressed. Next stop will be a complaint to the NHTSB. On a different note, I found the sales department to be wonderful to work with when I made my purchase several years ago. It is sad that current management and its service personnel are the exact opposite in terms of customer service after the fact. More
Lost a customer today permanently I bought my Acura from McDaniels back in 2010 and have had it serviced there ever since. No more. I had my first poor experience some time last year I bought my Acura from McDaniels back in 2010 and have had it serviced there ever since. No more. I had my first poor experience some time last year, I don't recall the actual dates. I went for an oil change and left with suggestions of up to $5000 in repairs for alignment, tires, and battery. Just stunned, I had it double and triple checked and eventually got everything on the list done for less than $1000 at Nuttall Tire. I received a recall for passenger airbags and finally was able to get it scheduled. My nav system had been acting up so I had it checked too. I was told this would take an hour for the recall and probably 20/30 minutes for the nav diagnostic. When the lady came back and told me it was likely the battery that was causing the problems, I was a little taken aback, but somewhat relieved since apparently that would only take a few minutes to switch and $200 seemed like a good way out as opposed to the $1000 for a new nav system. After this relief, I began to feel a little hesitant as I felt I was being taken for a ride and this would not work. Apprehensively I agreed to the change, despite my gut telling me otherwise. Suffice to say I'll never ignore my gut again because, shockingly, the battery change solved nothing. Now I have an estimate of over $1000 for a new nav system. Oh yeah, did I mention I was there for 3 hours? Waiting to pay for 20 minutes? I was 30 minutes late for another appointment. My laptop died while I was there, which should tell you everything you need to. Afterwards, the lady that was doing it was trying to make me feel better by saying she removed the "diag" charge. Well, the charge goes to the repair, and basically saved me zero dollars because I had to pay the full battery amount anyway, so way to make a customer feel good. Then as I'm trying to leave, she asks if it was a new car and if I just bought it and tries to start talking to me about an extended warranty. Are you serious right now? I just told her I was late for an appointment and had not eaten any lunch. When I tell her I have to go, yes, I was angry, irritable, and in a foul mood, she huffs off like I've done something to offend her. McDaniels lost a customer for life. I don't trust the people that dealership anymore. The worst four words you can hear from a customer. I don't trust you. I'll be getting the nav system replaced at another dealership, because they can't quite possibly be less trustworthy than McDaniels Acura. I also won't be playing the McDaniels Golf Tournament this year. I don't know how many thousands of dollars I've spent with McDaniels Acura, well over $35k I do know that, but I've never felt less like a second class citizen. Outside of the miserable experience, two of the employees smelled like pot and the lady that was handling my repair was complaining loudly about other customers. I'm sure she'll complain about me next. At one point, I heard her on the phone telling someone to stop yelling at her and that she was just the messenger. After the experience I had today I can understand why that customer was yelling. More

I was lied to, overcharged, and sent home in my vehicle which was unsafe to drive at the time. Sales and Parts at McDaniels Acura in Columbia are top notch but the Service Department under GF's supervision and oversight is shoddy and have absolutely no customer courtesy cells in their veins. Just want to rob you of everything they can get (my opinion) Be forewarned, if your car is out of warranty. Question EVERYTHING because you will be taken for a ride and talk down to. More
Great Experience! I had an excellent experience with McDaniel's Acura and the staff. I got great value and Otis, the used car manager, and John Bailey, the salesperson I had an excellent experience with McDaniel's Acura and the staff. I got great value and Otis, the used car manager, and John Bailey, the salesperson, were a pleasure to work with. The description of the car online was a little inaccurate in that it advertised a flawless paint job. After the car was delivered I saw a few blemishes. Otis was unaware and when brought the matter to his attention he without hesitation offered to pay the local Lexus dealership to touch up the defects. I hope that I have another opportunity to buy a car from them. More

I drove through a few times and had a brief encounter with a couple of the sales representatives. I took a card from one of the Rep's Christopher Grow. Being a bit cautious in making a decision that added a bill to myself the first few months in a new state. I left with out making a final decision about the vehicle I had considered purchasing. It was nice to not feel like I was offending anyone by just looking at a few vehicles, and taking my time to consider my options. At my pace I did return and purchased a used RL AWD, the Rep Christopher Grow was instrumental in my decision to move forward with this vehicle. He took the time and patience necessary, allowing me to feel I was not getting in over my head. The management team above Christopher is beyond reproach in my opinion. They have went over and above in making sure I have had a Great Experience with this purchase. I have found the dealership I plan to stay with in this Area...... I asked for an "Out the Door" price from James Harper who I was dealing with via email. What I got the first time was a base price with a note for add ons for tax, tag and closing fee....but no costs were given for the add ons. I asked Mr. Harper to give me the price I requested which he finally did. We got within $835.00 of a deal, but Mr. Harper told me the sale price would be below invoice and he would not commit. He then told me to "Enjoy my Subaru". What a great thing for a Sales Manager to say to a potential customer! I truly hope his arrogance helps him sell a lot of vehicles. He won't be selling me one.
