Only dealer in the Los Angeles area that was willing to negotiate on the price of a RAV4 Hybrid. This was a gift to our son and daughter in law who live in the LA area and we live in another state so it w negotiate on the price of a RAV4 Hybrid. This was a gift to our son and daughter in law who live in the LA area and we live in another state so it was all done via email and phone calls. Every other dealer I checked with all over the state (probably 20) wanted additional dealer mark up of $2000 to $5000. They offered us a price below MSRP for a 2023 RAV4 and took our son old wreck of a car too so he didn't have to deal with selling it. Dealt with Conrad Solkalski at first and Adrian Flores to finish things up as Conrad was off for the week-end when our son planned to do the paperwork. Adrian called before our son was going to go down and start on the paperwork and said they just got a 2024 model in that was exactly the same as the 2023 and was willing to offer the same deal on the 2024 which was nice so we went with the 2024. Son was able to drive it off the lot on Sunday. Wired them the funds on Monday morning to finish things up. Overall a good experience, not perfect but not too bad. More

to sum up the story. I went to the store to buy the Toyota Venza Limit, but they didn't have the top, they only had a simple model, so I would have to order the Toyota Ve I went to the store to buy the Toyota Venza Limit, but they didn't have the top, they only had a simple model, so I would have to order the Toyota Venza Top and it would take almost two months to arrive, so the seller came up with the idea saying that I could buy it the simple model and when the car arrived the exchange would be made. very good I thought the idea was perfect because I had never bought a car from Toyota and I accepted the seller's proposal. 2 months passed the car never arrived and finally when it arrived I went to the shop and simply did not want to change the car another seller told me that I had to wait 6 months to get the change done, It was a disappointment and a bad experience for me I couldn't accept that they lied to me and I asked to talk to the manager who was kind in his words but said that I had to wait for the 9 months to complete and the replacement would be made and when I returned to the store at 9 months simply no one wanted to change the vehicle. I was lied to all the time, I feel terrible as I let myself be carried away by the words of a salesman who is only there to sell a car at any cost! I trusted the Toyota name and simply my experience was bad I have to finish my loan and I will never buy a Toyota brand car again More
They price gouge. Taking advantage of customer on new car sales. Rav4 are price as high as the highlanders, which are between 50 n 60,000. MB toyota should be embarrassed over the price gouging!! Once chips are readily available, people that paid 10,000 over msrp, cars will be worthless for trade in or resale. 20 to 25% markup. They stink. Other toyota dealers are in on the action. I think people need to take action. Complain to toyota corporation. Boycot their prices. This is not a Lexus after all. Come on. More
I gave this dealer a second chance. I had such a great experience purchasing the vehicle, but their service department technicians are lousy. Went in with a gas gauge issue for the seco I had such a great experience purchasing the vehicle, but their service department technicians are lousy. Went in with a gas gauge issue for the second time. Their response is that I need to read the manual. They felt strongly about it enough, they wrote it in the notes and cited specific page numbers to reference. We’re sorry, we know you didn’t see the gas light warning light come on and have photos, but it worked for us. When your car is down to 10 miles of gas it will come on, not 13 miles as you said. Read the manual. It took them two days with appointment to drain the gas tank, supposedly, and then drive the vehicle with the working gas light on. Apparently I have to get as low as 10 miles range and then have no clue what I have left after that. Clearly a defect, and brushing me off. I’m sure they told Toyota there was no problem, even though online there many similar cases of this issue. Never coming back here again, this was their last chance. If you want to buy a car, they are excellent!, but their service dept will waste your time. I added a photo, no gas light is on. They said it works, maybe but you have to drive the car until you have no clue how much gas you have left. The range is still not accurate. More
I just purchased a 2022 made to order Corolla Cross. The sales person, Irvin, was fabulous. But the finance guy, Silus, is not trustworthy. He added a useless theft protection chip which was quoted, by The sales person, Irvin, was fabulous. But the finance guy, Silus, is not trustworthy. He added a useless theft protection chip which was quoted, by him, as $1200.00. (It’s a sham deal). I got the paperwork on a disc). I was not offered the choice of paper or disc. Turns out he charged me $1795 for this chip. I was financing $10,000 but your guru financier bumped that price to $15,046.99. Really??? I do not want the useless chip. I WANT A CAR ALARM. And I want the price Irvin & I agreed upon. I have the car for 3 days & I am too upset to drive it. The paperwork DOES NOT REPRESENT THE QUOTED PRICE OF THE VEHICLE. I am a repeat customer having purchased a RAV4 many years ago. I’ve purchased 5 brand new Toyotas: one each at Santa Monica, Culver City & Manhattan Beach. Never a problem until now. I will use Santa Monica for service now. Your Silus financial person was too impressed with his desktop computer to explain anything to me. Thus, this car is over a thousand dollars more than agreed on. I want to remove the useless chip & install A CAR ALARM. As a return customer I am furious. I should have purchased the car at Santa Monica Toyota….(15 blocks from me) & shall have all maintenance & repairs done there. Irwin was great but once I stepped into your finance guy the situation was sneaky & not trustworthy. And completely disrespectful. He tried to sell me AKS to raise the price of the car to finance more money into the deal. I am very traumatized now & especially since I waited for months to get this car. AND I AM FURIOUS. I have a migraine for days & I AM DISABLED & suffering unnecessarily. (AKS=ALL KINDS OF xxxx). More
First and last-would be never go back to this scam theme dealer with a bunch of liars at this Manhattan Toyota. Making long story short, the car was in the transit at the time, as required, I had to make a dealer with a bunch of liars at this Manhattan Toyota. Making long story short, the car was in the transit at the time, as required, I had to make a deposit of $500.00 dollars in order to hold the vehicle in 48 hours in my name “otherwise, it would be sold to other buyer and this deposit is refundable.” (I was told by dealer) I did the process buying online with the trade in. As required and instructed. I sent in a copy of driver license, VIN number of the trade in, insurance card of the trade in, and a bunch of pictures of my vehicle for the valuation on my trade in. Then few days later I got an offer from dealer saying: that deal will be valid until Jan 10, 2022 from Cristina Morals – Personnel Internet Manager. Also I got an offer from Carol Gutierrez also is an Internet Manager, which is at much higher cost in comparison to the one from Cristina Morals. More than a week later, the vehicle arrived at the dealer, I got a call to come in to sign the final paperwork and pick up the car. At busy at work I could not be able to come right away. So I made an appointment to come in two days later. The day before I came in, I made a call to Cristina Moral to make sure that everything is correct. Could not be able to reach her, so I left a message to confirm the time I come in and the price that I got from her is correct. About an hour later, I got a call from Carol, she told me that do not call Cristina Morals, just call her if I have any question and whatever it is offered Cristina Morals, she will follow thru with it. Next day, after off from work at 4:30pm on Jan 8, 2022 – I drove straight to the Manhattan Toyota with intention to finish the deal (turn in my vehicle, signing the paperwork, and pick up the car that I had been waiting for). Here was where the scam begun surface. I met Nathan, (he was the only one – an honest person in the dealer I met in that day at Manhattan Toyota.) He was nice, friendly, and warming. We greeted and he took me to the car, we took a drive test, then he took me to his desk for the paperwork, as the offer on my paperwork I got from Cristina Morals – Personnel Internet Manager and his paperwork was not the same. He told me that he would not be able to change anything and asked me to see other manager. As I was waiting, another person came to talked to me, then another person came. All of them very much the same. They said that they cannot sell the car at that price at the offer that I got from Cristina Morals. They said the offered price that I got from Cristina Morals – Personnel Internet Manager is just for making customer come in but they can sell the car at that price (MSRP price) even though, I show the paperwork that said: will sell the car to me at MSRP and it is good until Jan 10, 2022. However, they said that they cannot sell the car at the MSRP to me. They said: “The offered that I got from Cristina Morals – Personnel Internet Manager is just for making me to come in to the dealer.” So then I said: I just want 500.00 money back, so I ask them: “Would I be able to get my deposit back?”They said: they would give it back, but then kept dragging on something else and kept going one thing after another and going … and would not mention anything about giving my deposit back. It was about 8:00pm, so frustration, worried that I may lost my 500.00 deposit, afraid that I would not be able to get up at 2:30 am next day for my work and may get a trouble with my boss, I gave up as they kept go on and on with none stopping. I made a dumpiest mistake that was trusting at what this Manhattan Toyota said and offered – Making deposit, driving two hours right after off from work to this dealer. I thought that I would have been happy to buy a brand new car at this Manhattan Toyota dealer. But it is wasn’t – I was scammed and robbed even though, there is no gun point to my head. If you’re a real gamer – this dealer is good game for you to play with as you come in to play a game then leave with no intention to buy anything. But if you’re hard working people with hard earn money, and really looking for a car to buy, and specially, if English is second language to you like me - you should stay away … STAY … AWAY … from this Manhattan Toyota. They would not put the gun to your head, but they always have a way to scam and rob you. They’re liars, scammers from top managers down to sale men. • Cristina Morals – Personnel Internet Manager • Carol Gutierrez – Internet Manager They’re just are the liars and scammers – Manhattan Toyota is just a place with a bunch of liars and scammer with nothing else, but waiting to lure you in (on the web or in person at the dealer) to rob and steal any money from you. I wish that I would be able to report it to BBB, but I could not because I was voluntary to sign the deal off while I was afraid and frustrated. I was the victim, and it is painful to lost a lot of money to these scammers. Just want to alert everyone who intent to go to this dealer be stay away or aware so would not became a victim. More
A Shelter in the Current New-Car-Purchase-Frenzy “Storm“ After some arduous encounters with dealers in Northern California, encounters that would cause many to abandon a new car purchase (given t “Storm“ After some arduous encounters with dealers in Northern California, encounters that would cause many to abandon a new car purchase (given the unfavorable impacts from the “chip shortage,” manufacturing closures, unscrupulous sales staff attempting to leverage these crises for their own financial benefit), I walked away today with my 60th birthday present and current dream-car, a Toyota RAV4 Prime PHEV. I have no complaints whatsoever. Mr. Gabrielle Stitt and his finance team managed the nexus between consumer expectations and the current market, and delivered a hard-to-find, rare, and special vehicle. There may be very few “deals” in today’s new car market—especially for all-wheel drive SUVs with EXTREMELY USEFUL electric range AND 300+ HP. Manhattan Beach Toyota seems to be aware that consumers are, therefor, sensitive to “soft” aspects of “the deal;” dignity, respect, honesty. Where other dealers lured, baited, switched, promised and unpromised, Mr. Stitt was consistently frank, poised, honest, realistic, and pragmatic. No over-promising or exaggerations or weaselly sales lingo to impress me. All substance. The finance team was equally impressive, and identified financing options that surpassed the options my “consumer oriented” credit union secured. I have NEVER purchased the “services” that dealers push at the close of a vehicle purchase. However, today, after a candid conversation about the changes we have all encountered during the past two years, I became acutely aware of the collective efforts that I, (and many others) have done to preserve the consumer services we value. I thought about the over-tipping I have done for the past two years to do ‘my part’ to support restaurant staff at risk of losing their livelihoods. I felt compelled to use that same attitude in my approach to my automobile purchase. I actually purchased the ‘ding and dent’ protection— the finance officer found favorable financing that is better than my own credit union found for me (thus saving me money I expected to spend). So, I purchased a product that would earn him a commission (I hope). It felt good. And when I told my wife, she squealed with approval because she is not a fan of those little dents that I tend to ignore and overlook…voilá … win-win…who knew? So, I did not walk away from this new car purchase with a screaming deal. I walked away with a great car, a darn good deal, ding and dent coverage, dignity intact, zero anger, self respect and a chance to let others know that if they feel like they are at the end of the rope in their auto purchase effort, try Manhattan Toyota…maybe they will have the same experience that I did.
