Sort of the nightmare scenario- Buy used car that appears to be in decent shape. Take it home, drive it for a short time, and end up putting a ton of money in the car for repairs within two months. Can't. Ta to be in decent shape. Take it home, drive it for a short time, and end up putting a ton of money in the car for repairs within two months. Can't. Take. Car. Back. Prices are high, cars are average used cars, financing is questionable. Would not recommend this place to anyone I liked. More
I drove over 1. 5 hours to come to this dealership to look at 2 cars that I really liked. The salesperson, Owen, was incredibly helpful and stayed late to work with 5 hours to come to this dealership to look at 2 cars that I really liked. The salesperson, Owen, was incredibly helpful and stayed late to work with my family and I on looking at the cars, test driving them and making a decision. I made the decision to buy a car and sat with a wonderful finance lady, Janice. When looking at the paperwork 2 things stood out: $799 dealership fee and $599 for a dealer installed LoJack system. The fees seemed high, but it is what it is because the dealer will do whatever they want with fees. I told them I do not want or need the LoJack system and would like it removed. They said it would be a problem with the owner. Per the communication from the owner to the team "a customer cannot come in and ask for that to be removed". Red Flag!! So that brings me to this review. In all the years of purchasing a vehicle, I have never seen a dealership go out of it's way to shove down the throat of a customer a dealership add on and force the customer to pay for it. Every dumb add on made by dealerships that did not come with the car and aren't on the window sticker (security systems, LoJack, paint items, etc.) should not be forced on the customer. Everything was in place with me as a Tier 0 customer, with great credit and ready to buy the car. Instead the sales manager and hence the owner, tell me that they will only discount $100. Maybe anyone else who is in love with a vehicle is willing to take the hit. Not me. The dealership made a decision to add something to a car that doesn't need it and that the customer doesn't want. They now lose a $45K deal because I believe in the principle of working with the customer and not forcing it on someone. Unfortunately, a great salesperson, Owen, loses the deal too because his management doesn't believe in working with the customer. I happen to be a customer who looks at every line item. Others won't care, and this dealership will make an easy $599 on them (along with the incredibly high $799 fees). Maybe dealerships feel that under the current circumstances they have the upper hand. Customers should not be bullied because the dealer feels they have some leverage. They lost a good customer and I will make sure to let anyone know how this dealership wishes to work with customers. For others, they will be blinded by the car and be easily screwed out of $1400 dollars - easy money for the dealer. Good luck and just be aware. More
Very smooth process with the Team at Malones. Did most of the research from home. Jaime was easy to work with and knowledgeable about the XC90 I bought.
