I had been shopping for a new Nissan for about two weeks, reading the papers, checking the internet and watching the adds for the best price. All the dealers promised the best price but then each one added reading the papers, checking the internet and watching the adds for the best price. All the dealers promised the best price but then each one added different options and costs. One of the dealers I contacted for an online quote was M’Lady Nissan in Crystal Lake. On Friday Ken G from M’Lady contacted me. I told him that I probably would not be buying from him as he was so far away. He said that it would be worth the drive and then quoted me a price on a model that I could look at on line and compare against other dealers. The price was amazing. I was called by another dealer before leaving and was told that there was no way that M’Lady would sell me the car for that price. Well, they did and it was one of the smoothest and quickest transactions I have ever done when buying a car. Betty Joe in the customer relations department was great as was Brian Murphy in finance department, who made the transactions go smooth. It is too bad I live so far away; I bet the service department is just as good. I did get a call on Saturday from a manager at another dealer just checking to see of M’Lady sold me the car at the price quoted. I enjoyed telling him how smooth the process was. I would recommend M'Lady to anyone looking for a new Nissan as they have the best price and there is no BS once you get to the dealership. More
I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and walked out with everything that I wanted and more. Pat was quick and to the point and made the car buying process simple and efficient. Got an internet quote from Edmunds.com, spoke with their internet salesperson, Patti. Given a great quote, I asked specifically what all charges/fees applied. Was told she tried to email me numbers but her email must not have worked. Told her I would take the car at that price and would be in next day. On arrival,the VP was assigned to us. Then he tried to re-nig on the internet quote by saying their were various fees that "everyone had to charge" and that even though I was told repeatedly that the quote I had was all-inclusive, he HAD to charge me these various fees. I told him I was disappointed he wouldnt honor the quote they had given me and that I felt mislead. I said the deal was off. As I walked out of his office he was yelling at me and my 16 yr. old daughter that "we didnt get it, he had to charge these fees and where did I think I could go and not pay them??" I replied, just as firmly, and within earshot of other showroom customers, that since he wouldnt honor the quote he gave me and that i felt mislead that I would go work with a dealer who I felt I could trust. He let me get to my car, then started yelling at me from the balcony of the showroom. I stuck to the number I was quoted and said I wouldnt pay a dollar more than the quote. He gave me grief, carried on, disappeared inside the building twice. Finally he came out to the balcony, called my name and made a "come here" arm gesture as he walked back into the showroom. Hmmmm, I think maybe we have a deal?? Yes, in fact, we did. But even though I was polite and straightforward to him, his demeanor changed dramatically. He was angry and barely civil. What a jerk. The kind of guy that gives all car salespeople a bad name. The finance manager, John, however, was very polite and businesslike. As he is the VP, I would never use M'Lady for service. I had been warned about M'Lady from another dealer who warned me about them and their tactics. More
