First Time Mazda Buyer Buying a car is never fun, however it was a good experience. Felt they gave me a good price on my trade and a fair price on the vehicle I purchased. Buying a car is never fun, however it was a good experience. Felt they gave me a good price on my trade and a fair price on the vehicle I purchased. The only thing I would change is show the customer the price without the extended warranty first then let them decide if they want to purchase it. I have never had a dealer do this before. Overall it was a good experience More

LOVE my car, disheartened by experience Very disappointed in the integrity and manipulative sales tactics of employees, especially management. I feel like I was taken advantage of and misled Very disappointed in the integrity and manipulative sales tactics of employees, especially management. I feel like I was taken advantage of and misled. I signed the final documents, so it's my problem, have been reminded of that several times by Eddie... I have several friends and coworkers looking for new vehicles, can't say I'd recommend this dealership... That said, I love my car! More

Many of the issues were caused by the service department’s “refurbishing”, which we paid $1300 for. Read on for the details! We bought a used truck from this dealership and were told the vehicles were carefully inspected and “ready to go”, with Virginia state inspections and no issues. We were charged $1300 for “refurbishing” from the service department for various parts they had replaced. Before we agreed to buy the truck, we noted that the windshield was cracked in multiple places and the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) light was on. The sales team agreed (after discussion) to replace the windshield, and at first tried to tell me the TPMS light was on only because of the temperature change, but later said the truck didn’t have the TPMS sensors installed at all and would install them for us. Note that a functioning TPMS is legally required on this vehicle – I should have known then! We picked the truck up days later after the work had been performed, in the evening shortly before closing. On the drive home, when we reached highway speeds (test drive was all on roads <55 mph), the vehicle had a HORRIBLE vibration. The dealership was closed at this time, so I drove the vehicle the rest of the way home (I live 1.5 hours from the dealership, which becomes important later on). I called the next morning and told them I believed the tires needed balancing. They stated I could drive it ALL THE WAY BACK (with a horrible vibration) and they would take care of it, or I could pay for a local mechanic to do it. Given that I had literally just picked the vehicle up, I was a little shocked they wouldn’t offer to pay for a local mechanic, but rather than waste 3 hours of my time, I took it to a local mechanic. WOW! I couldn’t believe what he was telling me, so I took it to another mechanic (whom I trust implicitly, he was my fiancé’s business partner for years). Both mechanics said the vehicle was unsafe to drive. Here’s the list of the problems: The vibration due in part to the fact that the tires had never been balanced at all, and partly because the TPMS sensors had been improperly installed and had fallen INTO the tire and were banging around between the tire and the wheel. Good thing those 2” chunks of metal didn’t blow one of my tires on the highway! The ball joints that Lynchburg Mazda had replaced (as listed on the “refurbishing” sheet) had never been packed with grease! They will need to replaced AGAIN soon due to the excessive wear, which is about a $900 job. The suspension/steering linkage Lynchburg Mazda had replaced was completely missing a bolt and flapping around under the vehicle. The steering box was so loose it should not have passed inspection and needed to be replaced ($150 part). Part of the emissions system (diesel particulate filter, required by federal law to be functioning properly) had been left disconnected and began throwing engine codes right and left when reconnected because the filter was so clogged. And finally, my personal favorite, because it demonstrates just how little this dealership cares about the quality of their work: the running board (a 6’x3” solid piece of metal piping) was improperly attached and had been “secured” by stuffing a leather mechanic’s glove between the hanger and the mount. This was IMMEDIATELY obvious upon putting the truck on a lift and the glove was brand new, so there is no doubt in my mind the dealership was responsible – and even if they weren’t, you’d have to be blind to miss the glove hanging down! It took less than 10 minutes to remove the glove and properly hang and mount the running board. God forbid if that thing had come off the truck on the highway and gone through someone’s windshield! SO the truck has been deemed unsafe to drive, I live 1.5 hours away from the dealership and their mechanics have already proved incompetent and downright dangerous. Needless to say, I had my trusted mechanic fix the truck, rather than risk driving it all the way back to dealership and have their mechanics screw something else up. I called the dealership to let them know what a terrible job their service department had done, and they insinuated that me AND my mechanics were lying and that there was nothing they could do since I hadn’t brought the vehicle back to them. I tried to explain that since the vehicle was considered UNSAFE TO DRIVE, there was no way in xxxx I was about to drive it an hour and a half back to the dealership, but Greg Jones (manager of used car sales) could have cared less about that. Finally, their finance department incorrectly informed me that I could put whatever deductible I wanted on my insurance. Just got an angry letter from my loan company about my deductibles today! WOW, what an experience. If you want a reliable car or reliable service, DON’T TRUST THESE GUYS! More
These people endangered our lives! I had this service department replace the front struts of my low mileage 2007 Mazda3 s, in preparation for a drive from Virginia to California. The f I had this service department replace the front struts of my low mileage 2007 Mazda3 s, in preparation for a drive from Virginia to California. The following day we hit the road and after a short time heard a faint buzzy rattling in the front right of the car. That continued until we got to Reno, Nevada. There it became a clunk over every bump. Our hotel was around the corner from the dealer so we took it in. They showed me that the sway bar endlink threads had been stripped. It was clear that this was done at the time of reassembly during the strut replacement. The buzz was the nut working itself loose. The clunk was the part just plain loose. The next step would have been the part breaking loose. The car was unsafe to drive and I have now incurred additional costs to make it safe enough to continue the trip. We have discovered additional failures on their part but I will not bother with that at this time. At what speed might we have been travelling when the whole assembly came apart? And where might we have been? I shudder to think. DO NOT PUT YOUR LIFE IN THE HANDS OF LYNCHBURG MAZDA! More
1) I went here to look at buying a used jeep wrangler which I saw on their website. 2) I arrived in the morning and they had no idea where the vehicle was. it took them 25 minutes to locate the vehicl which I saw on their website. 2) I arrived in the morning and they had no idea where the vehicle was. it took them 25 minutes to locate the vehicle. 3) I test drove the vehicle, it had no gas. the salesman made me drive it to a gas station where he put gas in it. 4) we return from the test drive and I tell him I'd like to "talk some numbers." 5) I go inside and sit down with him at his desk, he starts talking football. hes wasting my time. I was polite but immediately pushed it back in the direction of the vehicle. 6) he tells me his boss will be there to speak with me after wasting my time for 5 minutes when he could not actually proceed any further. car salesmen today are simply gofers for vehicles in the lot, they dont sell a thing. 7) the used car sales manager comes over and hands me a piece of paper at the same time introducing himself. 8) on the paper is a list of everything they did to the vehicle when it arrived at their dealership. it had about ~$1200 worth of "repairs" listed. 8) the used car sales manager then tells me "the way we do things here, we have you pay for the repairs we made to the jeep before you arrived, in addition to the sales price" 9) i looked at him, smiled, and said, "thank you for wasting my time and insulting my intelligence. I will never return and will tell everyone I know not to come here or to any other dealership here in lynchburg under the same ownership." 10) he didn't try to get me to stay, he knew his scam only worked on the lowest intelligence level people that walk in the door, and that is who he was banking on me being. basically his strategy is to make a killing on the really really stupid people and blow off anyone with intelligence and hopefully he will break even. needless to say, for a town where the per capita income is 18k, he gets a lot of business. They gave us a wonderful deal on my trade in and found us a great interest rate. More
