My truck broke down as I was passing though Montana mud August....had it towed in and they assured me they would "expedite my repairs" to make me having to fly back out not a hassle.... here we are 6 weeks August....had it towed in and they assured me they would "expedite my repairs" to make me having to fly back out not a hassle.... here we are 6 weeks later they "fixed" the repair and then it happened on their test ...bone for 4 weeks they have told me daily "we will get it done". It's a 2 hour wireing harness fix... every day it's a new excuse that the "tech didn't show up". It's to the point I am debating legal action because this is ridiculous . And yes bmy trucks STILL at that xxxx shop.....maybe if their techs are incompetent they should have it towed to Dave smith. Wish I would have been closer I never will bring another vehicle to lithia Missoula...and I will never recommend anyone... More
Terrible communication & incompetent techs. We took our 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 to Lithia Dodge in Missoula on August 7th for an oil change & an issue with the cruise control. It has worked in We took our 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 to Lithia Dodge in Missoula on August 7th for an oil change & an issue with the cruise control. It has worked intermittently for several months. I told the service advisor, Nathan, that it would work for a while then just shut off. When I hit resume, it wouldn’t take off. It would work again only after we stopped & turned off the truck. He told us it was probably the switch, and that it’s not supposed to take off when hitting resume so you don’t run into the car in front of you. He said the truck doesn’t have a vacuum to the cruise. He called the next day & said the part was on order & would be there by the end of the week he would call us on Friday. No call. Called him on Monday Aug 14. He said they were still working on it & he would call us on Friday. No call back, so I called & left a message that Friday. Called him on Monday Aug 21 & he said it wasn’t fixed yet. We had to have it no later than Thursday the 24th for a planned trip. He said he would call us on Wed. No call. We finally got ahold of him & he said it wasn’t fixed – told him I would pick it up that day. Got the truck back paid over $500 for an oil change & a new switch, but still have the same problem. He said after our trip when we bring it back, he would have a senior tech look at it. We said we weren’t bringing it back, due to lack of communication & why didn’t the junior tech ask for help when he couldn’t find the issue. Not much to say. After a google search, I figured it out on my own. The truck DOES have a vacuum to the cruise control. I traced it joint by joint until I found a tiny worn spot that was leaking. I had the hose to fix it. Cost me nothing. Question is why didn’t the new tech ask for help & do a search himself. I just paid over $500 for an oil change. Service Manager called & I told him the same thing – no call backs when promised & why don’t their techs communicate. He said that was a good point about the techs asking for help. Never again, I’ll drive to Dave Smith in Kellogg. More
I bought a new dodge ram 1500 in 2008. Their service department was poor then and in 15 years has not improved. Drove 70+ miles for an oil change knowing that I might have to wait because service agent said they didn't take appointments for oil change. When I got there I was told they were filled up for the day and I should have made an appointment. Agent said to make it worth my time he would fill my gas tank if I promised to write them a good review. Obviously, I left without filling my tank. More
This service department is terrible. We got an extended warranty for our jeep that we purchased there and had some mechanical issues. We took our jeep in on July 14th after a 3 month wait and have yet to get it back September 7th. Everytime we try to get an update we get the run around from Nathaniel Money who is the person on our claim. This week he told us it would be done and then the day before we go pick it up he calls and says there are more issues that he needs to get approval on. Issues that he told us about at the begining that were never included on the first claim. I have had to call the Extended warranty to get the ball rolling several times. If you can take your vehicle anywhere else DO THAT!!! I wish I would have read the reviews before we took our vehicle in. More
I have driven and taken very good care of my car for the last five years, but decided to take the next step to buy my family a newer vehicle, something with four wheel drive to get through our winter months last five years, but decided to take the next step to buy my family a newer vehicle, something with four wheel drive to get through our winter months here in Montana. I'm a single mother with a little boy who is blind and I have no mechanic friends to help me make a good choice, but Levi at Lithia had reassured me I was in great hands! They had a 2011 Land Rover that he said "would be like driving on the clouds"! "No problems" he said. He had done the pen work sent the documents and had me approved within the same day! The agreement was I was to travel over to Missoula to give my down payment that Saturday sign a couple more documents and be on my way. That Saturday half way to Missoula I received a text message from Levi that said there was a hiccup in a part they ordered. Vehicle not ready. I went over anyway since I had just sold my only vehicle and it was my day off. I wasn't aware it needed a part. He told me there were no problems. I test drove it while I was there, but only around the block because I was told it was a coolant issue but not to worry it was just a hose replacement needed. So I gave them my $2000 down payment and Levi said he would call me right away when my new car was fixed, detailed and ready . That Wednesday I hadn't heard from anyone and so I reached out threw text and was told that they were now waiting for a CV Axle! I had no idea it needed a new axle as I was told there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. I was finally texted by Levi the next day that it was ready and had picked it up that Saturday. When I picked up the new car it had not been cleaned, not even vacuumed, there was less than a quarter of a tank of gas in it. When I had got it home the service Required light came on. I looked under the hood and not one drop of coolant was in the tank, it was over heating. I took it to a mechanic at a dealership here in Butte Montana and he showed me the cracked hose that has NOT been changed. I've had this vehicle for 4 days as of today! Yesterday I called the dealership asked for a manager, told him my story and he said unfortunately with buying a used vehicle nothing will be done, but to send him copies of all texts (because I have proof of everything through texts). I have made all the phone calls, No one will call me back. I'm ready to start a legal process. I have proof. Results of some one who just won't make it right More

New Truck left the dealership with no tail Knapp. Was told to sign for U-Connect service, but was actually a form to be completed by the customer. New Truck left the dealership with no tail lights, no washer fluid, low brake fluid, and then the serpentine belt shredded, leaving me stranded. Greg only tells me what he is unable to do, not what can be done. Refuses to provide contact info for GM. GM contact info not offered on website….very telling. Buyer beware! Trickery, outright lies, and dishonesty done here. Follow up. The Sales manager got involved after exhausting lack of effort or action from Greg Knapp, the slick, sleazy, deceptive lying sales person. Madison, the sales manager approved a tow back to the dealership. He communicated every step of the way. He was very understanding helpful. The truck was found to have a faulty belt, which was replaced as well as the damaged hood liner. The truck was driven back to my residence in about 30 hours. Hopefully there will be no other surprises. The GM never came out of hiding. More

Before I get roasted for this, I understand the mistake I made in purchasing a used vehicle from this dealership. I will explain.. I was not in the market for a truck until 2 days prior to taking a 3 week trip with my camper when the truck I had planned to use developed emissions issues and could not be repaired in time. So, I instead planned to trade in a 2021 Ram 2500 with the 6.4L (gas) for a 2020 2500 6.7L (Diesel) available at this lot. Upon initial inspection and test drive, everything seemed fine. No major issues beyond a small dent on the edge of the tailgate that had pulled the paint and was touched up. Walking around the truck several times, there were no noticeable issues. I made the deal. I should have recognized the red flags to how many times the clear carfax was referenced.. The next day, when I was in the bed of the truck, I noticed the roof of the cab. It had numerous hail dents, some were baseball size. I took pictures and sent to the salesman immediately. He did acknowledge the pictures but had little to say about what we could do. I said I would be in when I returned from my trip in 3 weeks. When I returned, I was basically told I was a liar. The sales manager said, "There is no way we missed that damage in our inspection", when obviously their was a way they missed it. Any suggestion I made to validate the pictures as prior damage were not acknowledged. I asked if they seriously believed this damage occurred in the 24 hours that I had the vehicle. No response. I explained, If this were true, they would also have to acknowledge that I put on a new hood, windshield and everything else? No comment to that either. I honestly believe this was a turn and burn. They knew what they were selling and passed the loss to the customer.. me.. the sucker. The result is, I will pay for a truck that was sold at market value knowing it valued less with this damage. Yes, I should have checked the cab before I purchased this truck and when I get my next one, I will but it will NOT be at this dealership after they failed to look at the facts and put 100% of the expense on me. Took my 2020 Trackhawk in for an oil change & swap winter/rims/tires w/summer/rims/tires 17May22. Bill came to almost $300 so I mention this is supposed to be covered by the Jeep Wave Program. After s winter/rims/tires w/summer/rims/tires 17May22. Bill came to almost $300 so I mention this is supposed to be covered by the Jeep Wave Program. After some uncomfortable silence he says Oh Yeah you’re right sorry about that (This was my 3rd time here, so not an honest mistake). Worse I check the oil yesterday 12June22 and it’s about 1.5+/- quarts low. My receipt shows they used 7 quarts oil/replaced oil filter. So I looked in the manual and it actually takes 8.3 quarts w/oil filter replacement. Looking back I found another receipt from this place 5October21 where they also put 7 quarts w/oil filter instead of the 8.3 quarts w/oil filter. My experience; They’re not friendly, will overcharge you if you’re not paying attention and can’t even do an oil change right, which risked ruining the engine on a $100K vehicle. When people mention the stereotypical sleezy dealership service department…this is it! In a word, UNPROFESSIONAL. More
