Milton took the time to explain the features and comparisons between the Camry and another vehicle. Professional in every aspect! He was so patient driving around the lot with me to help me make my decision and I took a long while to decide on color and features. The other staff were just as friendly and helpful. The dealership was inviting, clean and everything was organized. I would wholeheartedly recommend the dealership and Milt in particular. The financial office was prepared, patient and there were NO SURPRISES when it came time to sign on the dotted line. We were in and out in 20 minutes. Milton also did all the work switching my insurance carrier, which was a big help. All in all, easy peasy! Thanks a million Milt!! More
Manipulative & Deceitful Practices -- Please beware! Arrived at Liberty to test drive a Camry Hybrid. We were using the Costco Auto Program. After test driving, we discussed the Costco program purchase a Arrived at Liberty to test drive a Camry Hybrid. We were using the Costco Auto Program. After test driving, we discussed the Costco program purchase amount. We expressed that the amount was higher than what we could pay. The sales manager asked if there was anything they could do, which we communicated what would work for us, but that we completely understood if it wasn't doable on their end. He did not give another offer because we said that we would need to leave and consider it. They kept saying that it was the last day of the month & they needed to sell 17 cars to make their quota, so they would be doing all kinds of deals to make their sales. The sales manager assured us that he would work with us on a better deal if we returned. We called later & told the salesperson that if they could get us within a set price range that we wanted that we would return. He asked us to text pictures of our trade in including the VIN & mileage. We did. I also texted him exactly what our range was for the purchase to make sure he understood. He called me back & stated that they would need the car to come in to give us an accurate trade-in amount. I asked on the phone if there is any way that they would get within our range because there was no point in driving 45 minutes back to the dealership if the deal isn't even possible. He assured me that they were again trying to sell cars to meet their quota so they would do almost anything. I again asked to make sure that it was worth it. I even said again that I completely understand if what we were asking was not possible, but then we would not return. He again said they would be willing to get within our range. We returned to the dealership and the sales manager (Fred) came back. He presented us a monthly payment amount, which was way over the amount discussed on the phone and it was a longer financing period (72 months not 60). The amount he offered, which he presented as a better deal than before, was actually going to be more than $5,000 more over the length of the loan and was a higher purchase price. When we said that was way too high & not what was discussed, he came back with a lower monthly amount, but extended it to 84 months financing (again, being deceitful by manipulating the numbers). Again, it was no better than what was offered before and if we keep the loan for the full term, we would again pay higher than what was discussed when we were there earlier in the day. He then offered to bring it down to 72 months with the same amount. Unfortunately, we didn't realize what he was doing at the time, but he was playing us and playing a game. He was being dishonest and manipulative in his approach. At the time we didn't realize this, but we thought he was actually trying to give us a good deal & help us out. After we purchased the vehicle, we did some calculations and realized that the deal he offered us was no better than before. In fact, over the life of the loan we would end up paying a little more than the original offer from earlier that day. We should have never made this purchase & regret it because now we are paying more than we thought we would be. We were trusting that they were being honest & straight forward. Both the salesman and the sales manager were nice and friendly. They were not rude and were not disrespectful, but we should've known better. After all, car salesmen get their reputations for things like this, unfortunately. I called the dealership's general sales manager (Dave) to discuss what happened. He returned my call the next day and I explained everything that happened. I expressed that we felt manipulated and deceived. We were misled in our purchase and honestly regretted the purchase. The general sales manager heard my concerns and was willing to listen. He expressed that he would need to look into it, but that he never wants a customer to walk out with those feelings, which I appreciated hearing. He did also pull up the purchase and tried to explain (in some ways defend) the actions. He stated that we did get a deal on the purchase price of the car because it was slightly less if you didn't consider the monthly payments. However, I stated that's not what we discussed with the sales manager who handled the negotiations. Actually, the general sales manager did the calculations & proved that we would end up paying more over the life of the loan than what we would have originally, but he kept saying that we can't consider the loan interest. However, I kept having to ask/point out that why would he have offered us such a high monthly payment, which he knew was much higher than the prior offer discussed, when we returned if he was genuinely trying to help us? Also, why would they tell us to come back to the dealership if they knew they would not get near the price range discussed on the phone (& I sent in a text which the salesman received)? It was deceptive to give us the impression that they would make it work & have us come back. I do believe the general sales manager was trying to listen, but also I do think he was also trying to consider his staff's perspective. He stated that he would offer us a free detailing whenever we are back at the dealership and he again emphasized that he doesn't want anyone to feel negatively about their purchase experience. While I appreciate the willingness of the general sales manager to listen and express that he wouldn't want that sort of deceptive practice to happen, it still doesn't change that it did happen to us. We actually realized it, but it was too late because we signed the paperwork and had the car for a day. I wonder how many other people never realize what's happening when they try to manipulate the way they present numbers or tell you that they are trying to give you a good deal, but it was actually worse than before. I wanted to write this review to make sure that others are super vigilant and don't fall into the trap. We should've been wiser & more aware when we were there. We let our guard down, unfortunately, and trusted them. Please be careful when going to this dealership, especially if you are working with the general sales manager whose name is Fred. Hopefully, you won't have to deal with this type of practice and maybe it only happens with this one sales manager. As of now, I do NOT recommend this dealership. More
