BUYER BEWARE! I purchased my '07 Mazda3 in May of 2009- I was looking for very specific features in the car... I thought I had found "the one" at Liberty Mazda, so I went for a test drive with Rob. He di I was looking for very specific features in the car... I thought I had found "the one" at Liberty Mazda, so I went for a test drive with Rob. He did his best to convince me that an '07 with these features was VERY hard to find. I told him that I wanted heated seats, and he said, "no problem, we'll put them in". I also told him I wanted four brand new tires, again it was "no problem". I signed the deal, and picked up the car about a week later, in the rain. I spun the front tires merging onto 128, and when i got home found that my "new" front tires had about 10% of the tread left. after much hassle they gave me my new tires, and installed them all backwards. I had this fixed at Ira Mazda (they are the best!) since this issue, I found out by a mechanic friend that the car has had major front end repairs and was most likely repaired after a collision- Liberty Mazda denied this, and told me that since it wasn't on the carfax,it couldn't have happened- even though there are obvous repairs that have been made. My most recent issue happend the other night, when i switched on my seat heater and suddenly my car was filled with smoke. I switched it off and opened the window and it seemed to be fine. i went right to the dealership this morning and was told i would have to pay $100 just for them to look at it. I told them i'll take it to Ira since I didn't trust their service dept. Ira pulled up my car history in their computer and told me that I had aftermarket seat heaters that were installed by an outside shop, and that they were NOT covered by my warranty- I was NEVER told this by Liberty, and certainly wouldn't have purchased the car under these terms. Today I am stuck with a melted driver's seat, and nobody can help me. Ira at least is making the call to see if the aftermarket part has some sort of warranty so I can get my seat fixed. All in all Liberty is super shady and I think my next dealings with them will take place in the courtroom. This could have taken my life if this seat problem turned into a fire- I could have also been poisoned by the plastic fumes that filled my car when it happend. PLEASE take your business elsewhere! After doing a ton of research, I began searching for the best place to buy a new Mazda. I shopped every dealership within 100 miles of Danvers and was pleasantly surprised when I met Mike Consoles at Libert best place to buy a new Mazda. I shopped every dealership within 100 miles of Danvers and was pleasantly surprised when I met Mike Consoles at Liberty Mazda. After being strong armed, BS'd, and treated like a tire kicker by sales people and managers alike, Mike took the time to listen to me and made sure we found the right car, at the best price. All the folks there, from Mike to the finance guy, to the general manager, were a pleasure to deal with. Do yourself a huge favor and be sure to see Mike at Liberty Mazda before you buy your new car. The folks at Liberty were really decent to deal with. Compared to the other dealerships, I was truly impressed. I would highly recommend making Liberty Mazda in Wakefield, MA your last stop, if not your only one. More

My disappointment concerns a 2nd key for the preowned vehicle I purchased. I was told I would get a second key when I returned with the vehicle for the finishing touches. When I picked up the car they could not find the key and the dealership cut a new one for the vehicle. My problem with this is that the 2nd key does not have the automatic remote that locks and unlocks the vehicle. I expected a 2nd key that would open the vehicle without manually unlocking the doors. It might have made a difference in my decision, due to the fact they had another car on the lot that was similar except for the color. I was given a used switchblade style key they disabled and removed the key – it just the remote which makes it looks like it is broken. For a $200 key and a few minutes of a service tech’s time, they have lost not only any future purchases, but the use of their service department for servicing my new vehicle, not to mention that I would steer anyone away from purchasing from them in the future. We had requested a quote by e-mail via a quoting service (Kelley Blue Book), and Liberty Mazda was one of the slower ones to respond. In fact, after sending me an acknowledgment e-mail and phone call, they (Kelley Blue Book), and Liberty Mazda was one of the slower ones to respond. In fact, after sending me an acknowledgment e-mail and phone call, they still did not provide the quote, and I had to phone again to get a verbal quote. (Would have liked to get it in writing.) I was told one quote by one salesperson, and then a different quote (by $100) by a different sales person. But we had a good experience when we got there at the dealership. As agreed, we phoned shortly before coming (rather than committing to an appointment time), and Rob had the car ready for us, and we didn't have to wait at all for him or to look and drive the car. He honored the lower phone quote, and when we told him that we had been quoted something lower from another dealer, we were able to negotiate it down slightly. There was no pressure at all, even though we were keeping them past closing time. What was really nice was that we didn't even have to commit to making a decision regarding all-cash or financing, but could sleep on that, even after signing the purchase agreement and making the downpayment. Beware of this dealership. I was quoted a price on the phone, but it was only to get me down there. They had no intention of giving me that price. They convinced me that it was the only one of it's kind a phone, but it was only to get me down there. They had no intention of giving me that price. They convinced me that it was the only one of it's kind anywhere so I put down a deposit. Two days later on a Sunday I went down there unannounced, and sure enough the next row over was the exact same car. You could see it was there for awhile, the disc brakes were rusting. The next morning I called to cancel as I found the exact car at another dealer for $1,000 less. They are refusing to give back my deposit and were very nasty when I cancelled. Stay clear of this dealership, They are lying cheats. More
Brought my Mazda in for a timing belt service, while there was suggested to replace water pump since they were in the area (checked around and that is a legit consern) so had the water pump replaced. W there was suggested to replace water pump since they were in the area (checked around and that is a legit consern) so had the water pump replaced. When we went to pick it up, there were more things broken then when we left it. They said the ECR control needed to be replaced, and now the exhaust need repair also. It had been running fine, so I told them no. When went to pick up the vehical it ran awful, exhaust which had no leak, now sounded horrible, and the vehical was sputtering and barely made it home! Turns out conviently there was a hole in our exhaust system and the ECR control crapped out on us. I ended up repairing the ECR myself, and took exhaust to Lou's Custom exhaust for a 90 dollar repair (the dealership quoted around $2000 for an entire new exhaust system) Overall feeling was very sketchy and I truly feel they tampered with parts to pad there pockets. I will never go back there again! More

This place is completely shady. I brought my car in for a 30,000 mile checkup (in fine working order) and they charged me $684!! I also did not have my tires rotated. Now, I understand that I should have as 30,000 mile checkup (in fine working order) and they charged me $684!! I also did not have my tires rotated. Now, I understand that I should have asked for the price up front but I had no idea it could possibly be this much for a car in perfect working condition. I called around to other local dealers and they are charging much less (between $140-$300 less!). When I called the service department to make it right, they refused and basically said they could charge whatever they want and that they had done a competitive analysis. This is a complete lie! I would highly recommend that you NOT take your car there. IN addition, the time prior, they put a huge hole in my drivers seat while performing a tire alignment. They did fix it but it was up to me to take the time to bring it back. Stay AWAY! More
My husband and I went to Liberty Mazda with the goal of buying a new car, since the term of my husband's lease was about to end. We had a pleasant experience with Carl, a salesman. He was friendly, patie buying a new car, since the term of my husband's lease was about to end. We had a pleasant experience with Carl, a salesman. He was friendly, patient, and courteous. However, what prevented us from buying a car at Liberty was the GM, Mike McGuire. I only met him for about 30 seconds, but he was rude, disrespectful, and arrogant. I thought it was because I was a woman, but upon reading other reviews on this website, it seems that he treats everyone this way. Unfortunately, he cost Carl a sale, because we bought the same car that we test-drove with Carl -- at another dealership. More
