I stopped by Liberty Mazda because I was interested in a new Mazda I dealt with Rob and his sales manager AJ. I find the buying process stressful because I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to cars. Fortunately I had Rob and his manager AJ working with me. They were courteous, knowledgeable and helpful with my selection. They made the buying experience very enjoyable. They explained the options carefully and were not pushy in their tactics. I really appreciate their assistance in choosing my new car. More
I was in the market for a used Honda Accord for my daughter and stopped by to see one they had in their inventory. The salesman Larry took me on a test drive which was uneventful. I felt the price was daughter and stopped by to see one they had in their inventory. The salesman Larry took me on a test drive which was uneventful. I felt the price was fair and did review the Carfax beforehand so I was absolutely ready to buy....now it gets bad, REAL BAD. I no sooner sat down when Larry asked "So if we can agree upon a price are you ready to take delivery today?"....which immediately made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I replied "Sure" to which he then said "I need to make sure you're a good faith customer so take your credit card out". Now if you just read that and are asking yourself if this is for real I assure you it is and that I was as dumbfounded as you probably are.....asking for my credit card to make sure I'm a "good faith customer"?? I bolted out the door but not before making it clear their old school slick willy sales techniques were not appreciated and they had just blown a sale. More
Old school sleazy salesguy completely robbed us. Stay away. They know ever trick in the book and they aren't afraid to use them to part you and their money. Ira gets great reviews and they're not that away. They know ever trick in the book and they aren't afraid to use them to part you and their money. Found an excellent vehicle online at a decent price. Went for a test drive and liked the vehicle so I asked to bring it to an independant mechanic for review. The mechanic indicated that some repair work nee for a test drive and liked the vehicle so I asked to bring it to an independant mechanic for review. The mechanic indicated that some repair work needed to be done and also indicated that repair work needed to be done and that a "fix" had been done to keep the issue quiet. When I asked if this could be repaired they indicated that it could but the cost would be included in the price of the vehicle. They couldn't provide a cost for this repair and they refused to lower the price of the vehicle to help me cover the cost out of pocket. They indicated a general cost of parts that seemed high and the time for labor excessive. After checking online the cost of the parts was 1/10th of what they indicated and the time frame for the repair, at its longest, would take half the time. The salesman couldn't answer simple questions and constantly had to go ask other people. I walked out without a car and with nothing but disdain for that place and the people who work there. More
Visit Liberty Mazda for your next new car purchase ONLY if you want to experience all the sleazy car sales tactics you've heard about: good cop/bad cop; bait-and-switch; feigned ignorance of administrativ if you want to experience all the sleazy car sales tactics you've heard about: good cop/bad cop; bait-and-switch; feigned ignorance of administrative (documentation) fees; etc. Despite all the back and forth between the salesperson and the sales manager, the manager never came and talked to us, but when we got up to leave, he yelled across the showroom trying to wheel and deal some more. I can't say whether or not their prices were good, because when the negotiations came to a head, they wouldn't actually sell us the car we were discussing at the price they were writing on their slip of paper. We found Liberty sales to be low pressure and the price we negotiated was very good. Salesman Joey and Sales Manager Marty treated us with courtesy and respect. I asked them to do a few things to the car, which they did without question and for no charge. The car was ready to be picked up when they said, and everything was done. In the service department we had work done to our complete satisfaction. We dealt with Service Adviser Tom and Service Manager Walt who also treated us with courtesy and respect. We highly recommend buying your next car from Liberty Mazda and as long as this level of sales and service exists we will continue to go there. Remember, buying a car requires that you do your research in advance, not after the car is bought. If you do your homework you will understand the process from both sides of the transaction and you will get a better deal and better service. More
My husband and I originally emailed Liberty Mazda when we starting looking for our CX-9 but when we went on-line they had horrible reviews on this website and so we went to Ira Mazda. I wish on everything we starting looking for our CX-9 but when we went on-line they had horrible reviews on this website and so we went to Ira Mazda. I wish on everything we didn't follow this website and went to Liberty to begin with. We went to Ira and they lied to us for three days straight. Each day it was something different. All in all they said they couldn't get us financing for the amount we needed and wanted us to put an additional 3k down on top of the 1k we were already putting down. On Sunday (2/21) they told us we were all set with a brand new cx-9 and we could pick it up tomorrow after they finalized everything, then Monday told us the bank didn't want to give us the loan anymore and could get us in a used one and so we went in to look at the used and we liked it, that evening they told us the loan was definitively going to go through. Tuesday came a long and we were no longer going to be able to get the used and trade our car in and that in order to get the used cx-9 we would have to drop the trade (we owed more then it was worth). Finally we put our foots down because it just didn't seem right. Freddie, AJ and Chris all told us that we would need to put more money down or find someone else to co-sign with us. My husband and I both make good money and have good credit and we couldn't see the problem. We told them if we couldn't get the used with our trade in all deals were off, and they said there was no way that would work. We spent a total of 3 days and over 9 hours at that dealership. We went to Liberty Mazda today (2/27) and went to Rob, who we originally emailed with in the first place, and Joe, their finance man, and they were EXCELLENT!!!! We bought a used cx-9 with our trade in for a better deal then what Ira was offering us. We were there for only 1 1/2 hours and we didn't have to put extra down and we didn't need another co-signer. We were approved instantly for the loan. Ira Mazda tried to screw us over. I regret not going to Liberty Mazda to begin with and will do all future business with them. Please PLEASE PLEASE, go to Liberty Mazda, they are wonderful and a pleasure to do business with. Ira Mazda is clearly in cahoots with this website. Thank you Rob/Joe for all of your help! More
BUYER BEWARE! I purchased my '07 Mazda3 in May of 2009- I was looking for very specific features in the car... I thought I had found "the one" at Liberty Mazda, so I went for a test drive with Rob. He di I was looking for very specific features in the car... I thought I had found "the one" at Liberty Mazda, so I went for a test drive with Rob. He did his best to convince me that an '07 with these features was VERY hard to find. I told him that I wanted heated seats, and he said, "no problem, we'll put them in". I also told him I wanted four brand new tires, again it was "no problem". I signed the deal, and picked up the car about a week later, in the rain. I spun the front tires merging onto 128, and when i got home found that my "new" front tires had about 10% of the tread left. after much hassle they gave me my new tires, and installed them all backwards. I had this fixed at Ira Mazda (they are the best!) since this issue, I found out by a mechanic friend that the car has had major front end repairs and was most likely repaired after a collision- Liberty Mazda denied this, and told me that since it wasn't on the carfax,it couldn't have happened- even though there are obvous repairs that have been made. My most recent issue happend the other night, when i switched on my seat heater and suddenly my car was filled with smoke. I switched it off and opened the window and it seemed to be fine. i went right to the dealership this morning and was told i would have to pay $100 just for them to look at it. I told them i'll take it to Ira since I didn't trust their service dept. Ira pulled up my car history in their computer and told me that I had aftermarket seat heaters that were installed by an outside shop, and that they were NOT covered by my warranty- I was NEVER told this by Liberty, and certainly wouldn't have purchased the car under these terms. Today I am stuck with a melted driver's seat, and nobody can help me. Ira at least is making the call to see if the aftermarket part has some sort of warranty so I can get my seat fixed. All in all Liberty is super shady and I think my next dealings with them will take place in the courtroom. This could have taken my life if this seat problem turned into a fire- I could have also been poisoned by the plastic fumes that filled my car when it happend. PLEASE take your business elsewhere! After doing a ton of research, I began searching for the best place to buy a new Mazda. I shopped every dealership within 100 miles of Danvers and was pleasantly surprised when I met Mike Consoles at Libert best place to buy a new Mazda. I shopped every dealership within 100 miles of Danvers and was pleasantly surprised when I met Mike Consoles at Liberty Mazda. After being strong armed, BS'd, and treated like a tire kicker by sales people and managers alike, Mike took the time to listen to me and made sure we found the right car, at the best price. All the folks there, from Mike to the finance guy, to the general manager, were a pleasure to deal with. Do yourself a huge favor and be sure to see Mike at Liberty Mazda before you buy your new car. The folks at Liberty were really decent to deal with. Compared to the other dealerships, I was truly impressed. I would highly recommend making Liberty Mazda in Wakefield, MA your last stop, if not your only one. More

My disappointment concerns a 2nd key for the preowned vehicle I purchased. I was told I would get a second key when I returned with the vehicle for the finishing touches. When I picked up the car they could not find the key and the dealership cut a new one for the vehicle. My problem with this is that the 2nd key does not have the automatic remote that locks and unlocks the vehicle. I expected a 2nd key that would open the vehicle without manually unlocking the doors. It might have made a difference in my decision, due to the fact they had another car on the lot that was similar except for the color. I was given a used switchblade style key they disabled and removed the key – it just the remote which makes it looks like it is broken. For a $200 key and a few minutes of a service tech’s time, they have lost not only any future purchases, but the use of their service department for servicing my new vehicle, not to mention that I would steer anyone away from purchasing from them in the future.
