Lia Honda of Albany is one of the worst dealers in the capital area. I went there to lease a 2013 Honda Accord EXL. As I walked into the dealership the salesperson asked me “what is the payment I was look capital area. I went there to lease a 2013 Honda Accord EXL. As I walked into the dealership the salesperson asked me “what is the payment I was looking for”. I told him can we at least test drive the car first before we talk about the payment. After the test drive first thing, he wanted me to fill out a credit application. I told him, “I qualify for tier 1 credit. I already have a car financed under tier 1 program. Can we talk about numbers and agree on something before I fill out an application.” Finally we talk about numbers and as he was leaving to get numbers from his boss, I asked him to come back with details numbers (sale price, residual value, money factor) not just lease monthly payments. He comes back with very high lease payments $460 a month for 2013 Honda Accord no other numbers. I asked him for details how he arrived at this number, he tells me “this is it take it or leave it”. They were trying to play their payment game, where they pad the payments and never talk about the sale price residual value and money factor. And I wasn’t not going to make a deal without knowing what I was getting into. I walked out of the dealership without any words. I will take my business somewhere else. There are plenty of Honda dealers in the area. Lia Honda may seem like nice dealership but they do not want to deal with people who are smart about their money. They love dealing with people are not educated about numbers/finance. I understand they are in business to make money but this does not mean they can rip off people. More
I received a phone call encouraging me to come in for an oil change. When I explained that my finances were very limited right now and that my car was not far beyond the oil change/mileage date, I was told oil change. So, I made an appointment for the following day and when I arrived, they declined the extra $10.00 off that the dealership had committed to me over the phone the day before. This was a huge waste of my valuable time and an embarassment to have to open up about the personal hardship I am experiencing in this difficult economy. Adding insult to injury, I noticed that when I politely left without the service, the employee and manager I dealt with were talking and smiling, most likely about my case. More
I am always pleased with the service department at Lia Honda. It's always quicker than expected, which is not something I could say for a lot of places. I would definitely recommend them. I had a battery issue with my CR-Z and they identified the problem immediately and I was out the door in less than half an hour. No problems since, but I have taken my car in for oil changes and such, and it's been a good experience each time. More
Lia Honda contacted me after an oil change I had done on my 2010 Honda Accord, stating I was over the lease mileage and would I be interested in making a deal. In 2 meetings at the dealership and phone conv my 2010 Honda Accord, stating I was over the lease mileage and would I be interested in making a deal. In 2 meetings at the dealership and phone conversations, I told them I wanted them to pick up the remaining mileage and payments. Finally they agreed and wanted a 1000.00 dollars down to make a deal. My mistake was not checking the paperwork as Honda Finance hit me up for the overage miles. I went to Lia and asked them to at least split the difference, since it was never in the paperwork and they said no. Told me they never pay for any miles over the lease agreement. They are lying, 3rd car I have turned on to them and I never had to pay any over miles fee. My bad, but I thought they would step up in good faith. Done with this dealer and would not recommend to anyone in the Capital Region!!! More

Brought my car in to the service shop yesterday and was not pleased. The service people were very disrespectful towards me, and the service manager (Jim according to a placard on the wall) was screaming at not pleased. I will NOT be bringing my car back here, or purchasing any cars from this dealer location in the future. More
This is the second time I worked with Mark Ellis to purchase my second CR-V, The customer service was excellent and all staff were extremely freindly. Lia is always great to deal with. They are quick and efficient. They always listen to what I want and respectfully explain what may be needed. I never feel pressured there. This dealership ran a special "Lease a Honda Accord for $69/month". When I got there, the salesperson said he had no idea where that number was coming from. With $4,000 down on a demo, the lease would have been $129/mo. I told him I needed to think about it, he said okay, and I called a couple hours later to say I'd take it. Joe, Shannon, and the manager were extremely rude and told me I should have made the deal while I was there and they would no longer do it. I had been there before looking to purchase a used Civic for 12-15k and the salesman told me that wasn't realistic and was very condescending. I would not recommend these flakes to anyone!! More
