The Perfect Purchase! Bill DeKoning was the first person that contacted me when I inquired about a pre-owned Lexus. He was most courteous and truly graceful. I explained that I had no vehicle because of my experience in an accident that left me with a broken leg, bruised ribs, and a severe concussion. I explained my 'story' to Bill. I also said I wasn't certain whether I could follow through with a purchase. He very politely asked if he could call me in a few days; I answered in the affirmative. I had a genuine fear of driving a car let alone purchasing one. I took "baby steps" with Bill. I got up enough courage to actually drive to the dealership. Although I showed up unannounced, within a few short minutes, Bill was at my side. That brief interlude afforded me the opportunity to really look at the shiny, immaculate, beautiful cars in the showroom. We chatted briefly as he got to know my price range, and I learned more about Lexus. A few short days later, I went to test drive a gorgeous pre-owned 2004 330. "She" had only 43,000 miles on her speedometer. I was looking at an (almost) brand new car. I paid for the car, and I am now happy to say that I am a proud Lexus owner. If it weren't for Bill's persistent and polite intervention, I doubt I would be this happy with any other vehicle. He truly stands out; Bill's incredibly understanding manner facilitated my dream! More

He delivered a level of personal service and communications that has become rare in the industry. He made sure that we had sufficient information and helped to secure the right car with the right colors and features and had it delivered in a very timely manner. I was quickly referred to Charles Greene, who provided a wonderful experience. Mr. Greene demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills as he took the time to understand the complexity of my personal situation. After assessing my situational and economical needs, we were able to collaboratively determine which vehicle to pursue. Mr. Greene offered a comprehensive overview of the NX200t prior to beginning negotiations. Mr. Greene was able to secure a fair and reasonable quote on the trade, as well as new purchase. My experience was exactly what I expected at Lexus of Smithtown. It was an experience that is going to bring back to that very same showroom in future years to come! Thanks! More

If you like condescending & dismissive. Here's your dealer! I inquired about a vehicle for sale here. I am a 5hr drive away so I wanted to at least get the basic negotiations out of the way. Well, I sent John V I inquired about a vehicle for sale here. I am a 5hr drive away so I wanted to at least get the basic negotiations out of the way. Well, I sent John Valveri a detailed report on my vehicle (IPL G37). He called for more details. He asked if the payoff was accurate on my vehicle, I said it was, he starts laughing. No I'm not kidding. He asks "How can you owe that much on this car?" While laughing at me. Then he asks my vehicle trim level. It was in the detailed report I sent. Anyway, I explain it was an IPL. He asks "Is that a Journey or Sport?" I explain its neither, it's a rare top-of-the-line performance G37. He's not getting it and that's fine. I don't expect every sales person to know every vehicle out there, but if you do not know what you are talking about why be condescending to a potential customer? Completely unprofessional. He calls back with a ridiculously low offer. Now I understand this game as I've owned over 20 vehicles including 2 previous Lexus vehicles. He tries explaining "That's what the computer says." Yeah, let's just go off what a computer tells you when you input the wrong trim info... He continues to be dismissive. At this point I end the call. I do not need to be spoken down to. I follow-up with John via email with a snapshot of available comparable vehicles in their market. There are 3. The lowest price is $32,950 and the high is $36,950 Neither of which have all the options my vehicle does. Their offer was $20k. He responds in his usual dismissive manner at which time I ask for his GSM And GM's info. He ignores this request after I asked twice. I then follow-up directly with the GM Dina Burns about this experience. She was courteous, polite and apologetic. While we couldn't make a deal she did make every effort. So if you are going to shops there, be selective who you deal with. Dina is the only reason I adjusted from 1 to 3 stars. More
