Going The Extra Mile, Beyond Fair and Reasonable My 2001 Acura 3.2TL-S, currently at 210K miles, has been exclusively serviced by Leith Acura since I moved to NC with about 20K miles on it. The Leit My 2001 Acura 3.2TL-S, currently at 210K miles, has been exclusively serviced by Leith Acura since I moved to NC with about 20K miles on it. The Leith service department never performs unnecessary work, always finds the causes of the most obscure problems, and counsels me like a family member. Walking into the service department always puts me in a good mood, because I know that they will take good care of my car. However, Leith Acura often goes way beyond this fair and reasonable standard. Most recently, I boldly took my car in for about $3K of major work including replacement of shocks and struts. After completing this work, Steve the service rep called to tell me that the diagnostic system had started registering a code for catalytic converter replacement. Before calling me, Steve researched the parts and found that the Acura unit sells for $1,500; and he found an alternative branded part for half that cost. Steve anticipated that I would be concerned about investing in even more repairs all at once, and told me that they would install the converter with no labor charge. When I came to pick up the car, Leith had applied a $60 discount coupon I hadn't mentioned - and get this: they paid for an outside vendor to polish the headlight lens covers! I take that as encouragement to "use up" my car; and with this kind of service support, why not? More
