Boned by carbone ...still After waiting for almost 2 months for a title on my 2011 crosstour that I purchased in June , I am still dealing with the aftermath of my car buying e After waiting for almost 2 months for a title on my 2011 crosstour that I purchased in June , I am still dealing with the aftermath of my car buying experience at carbone . they did offer us compensation in the form of a remote car starter and a back up camera . I specifically asked for factory insulation , both items were not factory but aftermarket ad ons from a small company called auto specialists . carbone agreed to pay my first car payment since I was unable to drive my car for over a month after it was purchased . they kept the paper at the dealership and have not yet paid it as promised . they have also cost me money on the road . the temporary registration was so illegible that I received a ticket for $65 for said registration . ( so look at yours if you purchase a car at carbone . it could cost you money later . ) also , I foolishly dropped my insurance since I didn't have a car in my possession and that cost me an additional $270 or a 33 day suspension . during the course of that 33 days my car was still sitting on the carbone lot without a title .this whole experience has been a nightmare . my advice to you dear buyer....shop elsewhere . don't get boned by carbone! Unbelievably unprofessional! I purchased a certified preowned 2011 crosstour from carbone Honda of Yorkville 4 weeks ago . after signing contracts , a lot of handshakes and smiles I purchased a certified preowned 2011 crosstour from carbone Honda of Yorkville 4 weeks ago . after signing contracts , a lot of handshakes and smiles , our sales man went to get the plates etcetera from the office . as it turns out they did not have a title for the vehicle . the manager assured us the title would be expedited and it shouldn't take long . each week we were placate when our salesman. ...said the title should be there any day. Well. as I have said , that was 4 weeks and a check for $ 8000 cashed ago . the car was on my insurance , my son was supposed to take my old car as he is limping along with a clunker , my car payment was due today ,I was planing a vacation road trip in my new car , and I just found out yesterday after numerous un answered phone calls e mails and texts that they are still trying to find the original owner . the former owner leased the vehicle when it was New and the vehicle was auctioned and sold to carbone over 2 years and 20,000 mystery miles ago . and they don't have the documentation for it yet . how unprofessional is that ? I expect something like that to happen at a small under the bridge auto kind of place , which is why I went with a large dealership to begin with . they have had ample time to rectify the situation . I was expecting my car any day and to find out they haven't even contacted the owner after 4 weeks was mind blowing . no one has apologized or offered to let me look at other cars in stock or to return my $8000 down payment . down payment was made with the anticipation of taking delivery of my car that day and it should not have been cashed before I got my car . since no one seems to be able to talk to me I am considering retaining an attorney in order to get my money back . all I can say is buyer beware . don't sign anything until they hand you the title and the plates . carbone has a no cool down period policy so once they have you you are at their mercy . all the excitement of buying a New car has been completely ruined . my advice is to shop elsewhere . The SUV arrived with sales agreement increase of $2,000!! Salesman Carmelo called me due to my online search for a new SUV. We spoke several times via telephone and text messages. I clearly stated that I Salesman Carmelo called me due to my online search for a new SUV. We spoke several times via telephone and text messages. I clearly stated that I did not want to discuss (haggle) payment amounts or price. I told and texted him the exact amount I would put down, the amount of the monthly payments and the number of months to be paid. At first he said no deal. He called back, saying that he had called around and could find me the car that I wanted for my terms that he would email to me. I received three emails thanking me for choosing their dealership but no copy of a proposed sales agreement. When Carmelo told me the car was 4 or 5 hours away, I was surprised saying that it was too far away. Carmelo said no problem I'll have it delivered. I repeated the terms I offered to buy the SUV for asking again if there was any increase. He said the paperwork would arrive with the vehicle call and talk me through the process. When the SUV arrived, a 5 hr. trip; the sales agreement had an increase of $39+/- per mth and 3 mth. more than I had stated in my proposal. I was, to say the least, upset. I then spoke to Carmelo and three other people by phone to try to get the agreed upon terms of sale. I was told by Carmelo that "I was trying to steal the car" at that price. I told him that I was very clear about what I would pay, asking him to check the text message that I sent to verify my offer. He averted talking about my offer so I refused the delivery of the car. I recently moved and needed a 4wd vehicle. I traded in my car for a 2011 Honda CR-V and was foolish enough to take their Salesman (Tim Clark) at his word that he would add Btu-tooth to the vehicle if I took car for a 2011 Honda CR-V and was foolish enough to take their Salesman (Tim Clark) at his word that he would add Btu-tooth to the vehicle if I took the deal. Well now they are saying that it was not supposed to be free and want more money from me. I tried to talk to one of the sales managers which flat out told me if it was not in writing then it was not approved. I will never do business with them again. Lesson learned, get everything in writing as they have no consideration for their customers. More
Similar problems as other person mentioned. Temperature light came on after 1 WEEK of ownership of a new 2013 Civic. Took in for 1st oil change. Problem not solved. Light still comes on (now have 7500 mile light came on after 1 WEEK of ownership of a new 2013 Civic. Took in for 1st oil change. Problem not solved. Light still comes on (now have 7500 miles). Went again and after being patronized by an arrogant service rep, was told I didn't need an oil change (OK = good) but they couldn't fix the light issue. Really? With a new car? And none of the functions of the car were explained to me....probably b/c my salesperson Jay had little clue about the actual car he "sold" to me. Once Carbone Honda gets your money you get a lot of lip service. Then when you return for routine service they overcharge.... and I question how much they really do behind closed doors in the "garage" other than charge you tons of money &/ treat you like you (the customer) like an idiot (especially like a "dumb girl"). This is well known in the community. I kick myself for going there, but was desperate to get a new car. I can assure I will not return when I trade in. One savior is the Civic itself. I do love it. Purchased a new Honda Civic there. We take it back for service. Paid for an oil change - overpriced, arrogant service. After 1,200 miles our service light comes on indicating 15% oil life left.
