Lying cheating service department headed up buy a service manager that’s a stone cold narcissist. Went in to have my pick up truck serviced which included tuneup transmission, service, and fuel system servic manager that’s a stone cold narcissist. Went in to have my pick up truck serviced which included tuneup transmission, service, and fuel system service. Picked up vehicle up a day and a half later. Didn’t really notice much of a difference, but wasn’t expecting to since I didn’t have any misfires or issues leading up to the tuneup. I was about 15,000 miles ahead of the scheduled service for the tuneup but since it was a 2004 with only 60,000 miles on it I felt it was time fast forward I had two months and I’ve developed a misfire. Called LaFontaine, and made another appointment to have the misfire dealt with. Day later, the vehicle was fixed and they said that I had a defective cracked spark plug and they replaced it and only charged me for the rental car. I bought another month and a half went by and I developed another misfire. I brought the vehicle back in to LaFontaine and a Day in a half later I got the vehicle back. About a mile into my drive home I realized the misfire was never fixed. I went back in the next day, talk to the service writer, and the service manager, with severe narcissism, overheard the conversation and stepped in. From his chair and his office he was able to decide that I didn’t have a misfire, but I had a bad torque converter. He then goes on a rage about how he has 30 years experience with Ford motor I know what he was talking about. The conversation ended up with me having a third appointment the following Wednesday at this point it was Friday. I didn’t wanna take a chance driving the vehicle because it’s the only vehicle I own over the weekend with a misfire so after the narcissist service manager told me I needed a tour converter. I decided to go to the best transmission shop in the area and that is Phils transmission. I was lucky and they were able to check out my vehicle. Applied the computer to my vehicle and we went out to go on a test ride. 10 seconds into the test ride, the mechanic told me I don’t have any problems or issues with my transmission but on the computer he showed me that the number three cylinder had a misfire to the tune of 38 total misfires in three minutes. They made me a copy of the report and I went back to the dealership. Narcissist service manager sees me again and I tell him that I just want to the transmission shop and they told me there’s nothing wrong with my transmission but my number three cylinder has a misfire. The narcissist service manager, John McLaughlin, then went in a rage because I took the vehicle to somebody else to look at it, but what am I supposed to do? After three comebacks for a tuneup and they couldn’t solve the problem I kind of figured it was over their head. Couldn’t get an appointment till the following week and I didn’t want to drive the truck with a misfire over the weekend so I went to the good people had better break and muffler in Birch run exploding my situation to them and ask them if they could remove and replace the number three spark plug in my vehicle. The mechanic agreed to do it for me and pulled it in the shop. About 10 or 15 minutes later, he comes back out with the spark plug in hand and shows me that it’s a spark plug that was original to the vehicle and was never changed that LaFontaine Ford and I’ve paid them. Now I’m really mad because it’s clearly evident they are purposely sabotaging my vehicle by not doing the schedule maintenance that I paid for. I went back to LaFontaine Ford and showed The narcissist service manager the spark plug and he responded by saying how do I know that spark plug came out of your truck? I told him it’s pretty simple because in 2007 Ford motor corporation was having bad problems with those spark plugs and redesign the spark plug. I didn’t have the updated spark plugs except the 2 they changed. Now that the narcissist service manager can clearly see that he’s caught in a lie. He proceeds to tell me that I am no longer welcome at LaFontaine Ford. Like I would really want to come back to LaFontaine Ford after being ripped off to the tune of close to $1500. After discussing with the general manager Jon Baur what happened and now had all the spark plugs removed and showed them to him. John Bauer asked me if he could have a day to be able to speak with the manager and the mechanic about the situation and I said no problem. The next day, John Bauer called me back, and said that he talked to the mechanic whose name was Steve Cozart, and he also spoke with a narcissist, and they both claimed that the service was performed. If that’s the case, why did I still have the original spark plugs in my 2004 F150? After they turned it up in August did I go to a junkyard did I don’t remember and found a 2004 F150 that still had original spark plugs in them and removed them and then came back and took all the new plugs out and replaced them with the junk yard plugs? Anyway, John Bauer called me the next day and informed me that they had a check for me for $1096. I asked him where the money was for the rental cars because I would’ve never needed the rental car and they done the tuneup to begin with the first time I came there so why are they not refunding me that money for the rental? John responded to me that’s just the way they’re gonna do it. Hopefully if you bought a new vehicle and it’s under warranty, you should be good to go because Ford motor corporation is footing the bill for the warranty work so I’m sure they keep an eye on the cheats. I would not go back to LaFontaine Ford offer to do the service free. Ty Tom Bartley More
My name is Joey Jiahao Gu. I bought a used 2013 Subaru legacy 2.5i from this dealership on August 22nd. I paid 7000$ cash. I trusted them so so much at that time that I didn’t even doubt this car could have any problems. Based on all the positive comments and reputations. But now I am so so regretful. Because I recently took this car to do a full service and full inspection, they told me I need a new engine and transmission. This car is a piece of metal junk right now. I asked the guy who sold me the car and he said this car has no problem before I purchased it. So when we buy a used car, we all know there will be some problems, but as long as the engine and transmission are fine then it’s fine. I just graduated from college and I worked in the subway for a year just to have enough money to afford my first car. The car I love, the car that can shelter me and take me home and work. I almost cried when I thought about all my hard work was for nothing but a broken heart. I have debt and rent to pay. There’s no way that I can afford another vehicle. I can’t even make it home on Thanksgiving. I sent this to their official email address yesterday, but I haven’t received anything yet. I also sent this situation to the salesperson, and he asked me how I want it to be handled and that he will try to help me. I didn’t call them today, because I know they are with their family. I will keep updating you about how they handle this situation and I hope my experience will help you decide if you should buy a car from this dealership, whether it’s a new car or a used car. No one wants to do business with dishonest and irresponsible dealers. Update regarding their service. The answer is nope, still unsolved :( They have been trying to convince me to trade in for another used vehicle, asking me how much can i pay, and what's my credit Bla bla bla. But I am not that stupid. I'm not risking any more money on this dealer unless they give me an explanation or a guarantee. So it seems like this is the only solution they can offer. I don't know what to say about it. it feels like I'm begging for it. I don't know how and why I don't have any options but signing is a contract. why would people still want to buy used vehicles from this dealer? it costs more but has terrible quality and service. They don't care about a broke-xxx person like me. They would rather provide better service to whos buying brand new f150. Then why TF didn't tell me this car needs repair before selling and selling this 2013 Subaru with 190000 miles used car at 6000 dollars? I was being too naive. I seriously doubt they were hiding the car's condition from me. If you are looking for a used vehicle. I'll suggest you buy it from a local used market because they care about their used car business. This dealer is too busy making big money in the new car business. this is such an expensive lesson for me. Please take my advice and think twice before you buy. Because I don't want to see your car break down in just 3 months!!! More
So I live in Wyandotte, and planned to turn in a 2019 F150 lease and lease a 2022 Edge...BUT even though every South East Michigan Ford Dealer website shows 15 to 35 Edges, not one of them has them, they F150 lease and lease a 2022 Edge...BUT even though every South East Michigan Ford Dealer website shows 15 to 35 Edges, not one of them has them, they're all in transit or spoken for!...until I spotted an "in stock" White with Dune interior SEL at LaFontaine Flushing BUT I mistakenly called the Birch Run location and their salesperson, Madison Tuttle, took it from there, she called and confirmed it existed, made all the arrangement with documentation and prep, clarified what was necessary on my end then arranged a pick up date with me. All said and done she got me into the Edge I wanted with all incentives and offers, all hassle free. Even though I drove near 4 hours there and back, she and LaFontaine Birch Run pulled off what 6 dealers near my house couldn't! More
On July 13th, I brought my 1987 Mustang into LaFontaine because it had an oil leak and I wanted to make sure that there wasn’t an oil pressure problem since the gauge registered low pressure. I received because it had an oil leak and I wanted to make sure that there wasn’t an oil pressure problem since the gauge registered low pressure. I received a message saying that repairs needed to be made and amounted to $1329.54. I gave the verbal OK for the work to be done which included changing the water pump and the valve cover gaskets. When I picked up my Mustang my oil pressure gauge was still registering low pressure so I made another appointment for July 29 to have it explained to me. Your staff assured me that the oil pressure was OK but I was still confused as to why the gauge was not registering oil pressure. After checking with several other mechanics I had the sending unit replaced and that fixed the problem so that the gauge is registering oil pressure. All of the mechanics I’ve talked to have asked me why I was not offered the old water pump and why I was not told the reason the water pump needed to be replaced. It was not overheating and it was not making any noises. I realize that I do not know much about engines but the three mechanics I have talked to all agree that I should have been given a valid reason for replacing the water pump and that the charge was excessive. The sending unit was an easy fix and it only cost me $60. I think it’s important that LaFontaine be informed. Integrity and reputation are important for the success of any business. I certainly don’t appreciate being taken advantage of. More

Madison was awesome to work with, I did not feel pressured into anything I wasn't comfortable with. Dan in finance was great also. Dealership had very good pricing, would definitely go back. pressured into anything I wasn't comfortable with. Dan in finance was great also.
