I booked my appointment 3 months ago for a recall and an extra set of keys. When I booked, I specially mentioned how I only had replacement off brand keys and I was looking forward to having remote start ba extra set of keys. The lady laughed with me and said yeah, winter must be tough. 3 months later it’s the day of my appointment and I haven’t received any emails/calls/texts confirming, so I gave them a call. They confirmed I was down for the recall repair but had no information on the extra set of keys. They said no worries they have a fob in so they could add it on. I show up to appointment later in the day and again they had no record of me requesting the extra set of keys. Again they said no problem and they could do it. Once the appointment was over and I had my new set of keys in hand (nearly $300 later for the key alone) I asked how to work the remote start as this fob looked slightly different than my original. The worked told me “you didn’t ask for remote start so this doesn’t have it”. When I let him know that is the entire reason I was getting a new set of keys was to have remote start, he said I didn’t clarify that to him. I was frustrated and said I made it very clear when I booked in December, and I wasn’t told it was any different than a new set of Honda brand keys. He took me to the parts department and I was told if I wanted to add remote start (which this car already had prior to losing the original Honda keys…..) it would be $1000. I feel very frustrated that I paid $300 for a set of keys I didn’t need. While I understand I didn’t clarify the second and third time I made this request that I was getting the keys because I wanted my remote start back, I did while I was making the appointment 3 months ago. There should have been clear communication that adding remote start was different then just getting a new set of keys made and would not be $300 but $1000. On the phone when I initially booked, the woman told me she was an adding “new keys” to my appointment for $300 and said nothing about remote start not being included after I had already said that was why I needed new Honda brand keys. I’m also confused and frustrated as to how the first two conversations I had around adding a new set of keys wasn’t added to the appointment. Had in been added in the first place, they would have clearly seen I was getting the keys for remote start. I could not be more disappointed that I wasted $300 on a set of keys I don’t need. The worker was rude and tried to blame this on me and offered no resolution other than making another appointment and paying $1000 to get remote start added. More
First visit at Krenzen Honda. Dan Peterson, Sales Rep. was excellent. Showed my wife and I around at the different vehicles we had questions on.
