I was called into this dealership on 4/1/23 saying that my application was approved (be mindful my credit score is close to 700) & to come down. I got to the dealership to get two vehicles (because I was d my application was approved (be mindful my credit score is close to 700) & to come down. I got to the dealership to get two vehicles (because I was doing 2 trade-ins) at 7:30pm I sign the buyers agreement for the GMC, and was told to come back on Monday (4/3) by the GM Lynden to sign the paperwork for the other vehicle (up until this point I was specifically saying, “don’t play games with me, I want to be in and out and the payments can’t go over the amount I discussed with him). Lynden was on the phone with the sales person stating, “have her take m the GMC home and I promise I’ll work it out for her on Monday and she can take the other vehicle home, she’ll just have to sign paperwork.” I called before heading to the dealership on Monday (didn’t speak to Lynden). He then called me back while I was on 95 saying give him another day & to come Tuesday. I explained my week was busy and I couldn’t come neither Tues or Wed, he asked to give me a call in 30 min (never received a call and I continued my way to the dealership). Got to the dealership, then he sent the salesman out to tell me he couldn’t get the payments down on the other vehicle that I was there to get (1st broken promise). However, he could roll over ALL my negative equity into the GMC, if I could put down $2000, and that he would have the salesman meet me with the paperwork in Fredericksburg so I wouldn’t have to come back (Lynden promised that with the $2000 down, nothing will change with the GMC). Well Tuesday I called at 1:45pm & stated that I would put down the $2000 and just trade in one vehicle (Lynden promised to call me back in an hour). Well on Wednesday April 5th (as of 4:30pm) I never receive a call from Lynden nor was he at work. Around 6:15pm on Wednesday, I get a call from the sales person stating that my income is not enough. When I mentioned that my income was the same Saturday as it is today, I was told, “we never did put in your income because with good credit most banks don’t ask to verify income.” Today (Thursday 4/6) I will be returning the GMC (after 4 days) and getting my trade-in back. My income was the exact same 4 days ago when I was promised it’ll work and to take the GMC. The GM is good at making promises directly to the customer, but when it comes back to bite him, he then leaves it up to the sales person to deliver the message. I am a realist & know that deals may not always happen the way we want it to (the deal not happening wasn’t my issue), the lack of communication & SEVERAL broken promises) was the issue. Lynden kept saying, “I’ll make it work,” which he never once was he able to do. A sale should NOT take 4 days (4/1 - 4/5). Lynden promised to work on my sale, but doesn’t get to work until 1pm (how as a GM) is that at all fair to the customer who’s waiting on you to fulfill your promise? This dealership has nice vehicles, but NEVER listen to anything they promise you, because their promises are based on assumption and not facts. If I was wasn’t given empty promised and communication was kept all the way through, I would rate this dealership a 4-5 star. I am all about customer service, and the best way is to always be upfront, honest, and use ACTUAL information and assumptions. Customers don’t get upset because deals don’t work, they get upset when there is no communication & every promise that was given was all broken. If the deal falls through, but yet communication was happening the WHOLE time and the GM/Dealership NEVER promised anything, then I would be more likely to recommend others & come back in the future if situations changed.
