Tammy, I personally spoke with your service advisor, Kayla. She informed me that she spoke with you and your husband multiple times regarding what was going in with your vehicle. She informed me, to let you know again, that the power steering hose was leaking fluid, which dripped onto wires. The power steering fluid is corrosive and ate away the outside of those wires. The wires are a part of a harness that is in the engine. To get to the wires we had to take the engine apart and have an adjuster for your extended warranty company come out to look at it to determine if they would cover the damages or not. We waited for the five days to be approved for the rental because of your extended warranty company, not by our choice, because they are who pays for the rental. We had to wait for them to send the adjuster out and then wait again for their approval. If they had not waited to get this approval, you may have had to pay for the whole $2,333 repair, rather than just your deductible. You receipt has a detailed listing of all of the parts that we replaced, but, in case you have misplaced it, I also emailed you a copy of these repairs for your reference. Unfortunately, there is no way to know why your car did this. We understand that it can be frustrating to need to get repairs on your vehicle, but we are very glad that you had coverage with your extended warranty for these repairs. Please contact Theresa in our Customer Relations Department at theresa@jimbutlerchevrolet.com if you have any further questions or concerns. We hope that after receiving this explanation, you would feel comfortable editing your review or removing it, since we did everything in our power to take the best possible care of you in the this situation.

Thank you for the detailed info on the google comment. Just so you are aware I was never given all the detail you provided on the google comment ! Kayla called every business day say it wasn’t ready or The adjuster had finally come out and what I had stated on the Google review was all that I had known ; is that some power steering fluid leaked on some cable wires and corroded them away I was not given any other detailed information. I did NOT speak to Kayla when I picked up the car. What I wrote on the Google review what is the absolute truth. Which I’m sure you want to side with your employees ,I understand. But as a customer I wanted detailed information because I didn’t know exactly why this happened what was going on other than what I wrote in the review, mind you my father is a mechanic . I’m not stupid when it comes to things on a car I’m very much capable of understanding things when explained what is going on. I had bought the best extended warranty plan that covers bumper to bumper so I knew it was already going to be covered either way. Going without a rental car for five days was a very much an inconvenience for me . I would’ve been happy to put out my credit card for the five days and got reimbursed because the extended warranty company said they would’ve paid for the rental the entire time. But I wasn’t given that option. I didn’t know what was wrong with the car what is it going to be in there for a few hours a day I didn’t know initially. In all my life, I’ve never been to a dealership to get repair and never experienced someone not telling me exactly what was wrong with my car when I picked it up or prior to over the phone in detail, never. Oh and Kayla spoke to my husband once because he too was inquiring what was wrong with the car . He was told the exact same thing as in the google review, nothin

You're more than welcome, Tammy. It sounds like there may have been some miscommunication here. We completely understand that your service advisor did not speak to you when you picked your vehicle up, as she was no longer there. That is not what I was trying to say. What I was informed was that she had spoken with you and your husband on the phone telling you what I detailed in my response. If that was not the case or if she was not as clear, we do apologize, but that is the information that we had to go on. While we are very glad that you purchased such a great extended warranty, we still have to follow procedures for approval. I'm surprised that they said they would have covered it the whole time, because their policy is that they will only cover 5 days of rental. We sincerely wish they would have let us know otherwise if they were making an exception. When you initially brought the vehicle in, we didn't know how long it would take to fix the problem, or what the problem was, either. Unfortunately, it does take some time to identify the full cause of issues that are presenting and then start fixing it. Especially when we have to wait for approvals from outside sources. If we could have made the process go any faster, I can assure you, we would have. We know our customers' time is valuable and we want to do everything we can to make our customers' experience a positive one.
