Jacob My name is Todd Crabtree, I am the general manager here. I am so sorry about your expericnce. I am checking with the bdc rep who made your appointment into all that was said. Here is our side. We do Market base pricing, which is best price upfront, no haggle room and priced thousands below retail. We do match Car-max bids, if presented to us, and it has not expired. On the website, the pictures are of the car with the factory hubcaps, which were changed caused of the minor scratches. The car never had allow wheels on it. We purchased the car from enterprice rental car, and none of their Jetta wagons have alloy wheels. If you care to call me to discuss, please let me know. We strive to make every one happy.. WE ARE HONEST,, the fact is, you cannot buy a car over the phone. Like you wanted to take the car to the mechanic before signing papers, is not different than us needing to appraise your car in person. Todd Crabtree

I noticed the price of the car was dropping every day so I knew you wanted to get rid of it and figured you would want to deal. I explained exactly how much I had to spend and the car max value (which has not expired) on the phone and kelly said that you could make that happen if I came in and liked it but that was obviously not true. Also, I printed the car info the morning I test drove it and in the features it says 'alloy wheels' and 'keyless start' but the car didn't have either of those things but I was still willing to buy at the agreed upon price. I still have it if you don't believe me. The wheels had been changed and I can prove it with the info I printed. I stand by what I said in the review. I understand if the price was listed as low as you can go but what makes me mad is that I was lied about your willingness to deal and took off of work and made the long trip with my wife and our newborn. I'm busy and that was a huge hassle. You can't deny that I was mislead, mistreated and disrespected.

Jeff Haas Mazda responded

Jacob It wasnt just that car, we were making all of our prices as low as possible to attract buyers. Once again the wheels were not changed, if you look at the pictures online, the only ones showing a allow wheels are a stock photo of a silver car. WHich , i dont know why stock photos are on the site.I believe Kelly, the girl you talked to that sets appointments should had explain more about market based priding, but not know thw value of the trade, there was no way for her to know if the #s you wanted were possible. Lets not agrue over the little stuff. I believe you believe what you are saying, so i will try to make it right. Its hard to the the cheapest on the web, and still have room to haggle. Most customers like this way of buying a car, a lot better then haggleing. So the only way to make a deal is on the trade in. Let me know what it would take, If it is possible, i will try it. •Alloy-look trim is what is says on the internet. I hope we can resolve this and make you a happy Jeff Haas Customer. Todd

Like I said, I printed out the info the morning of the test drive and it specifically says "aluminum/alloy wheels". It has probably been changed sinse then. If you give me your email i will send you a copy. It was not a stock photo. It was the same car but different wheels. Maybe they were different hub caps that look like rims before but they were still changed and your sales guy still denied it. Plus, it is still misleading because the description did not say 'steel wheels with hub caps' it says 'Aluminum/alloy wheels'. I'm also sure your sales rep mislead me about pricing just to get me on the lot even though I clearly explained that I didn't want to make the trip unless I could be out the door at $12000 ($3000 matched trade in value with car max document and $9000 cash) That was all extremely extremely clear. Do you record your sales department phone conversations for quality assurance? If you do you can hear all this. You can't say that any of this was honest. The wheels and the keyless start not being what were described were not a huge deal compared to the price I was told I would get if I made the trip. Like I said, I probably still would have bought it at the price agreed upon. Any sales person should be able to give an honest price over the phone.

Jeff Haas Mazda responded

Jacob We only record incoming calls. You are saying you told her you wanted to be at 9,000 difference between your trade-in and our price. which would be 12,995, less 3995 for your trade. If that is what you have in mind, i will make that happen for you. Kelly is new in our appointment setting dept and did mislead you, even through not on purpose. She was hoping your trade would be able to make the difference. Let me assure you we are not the bad guy here. We are offering the car at a wholesale price and diffently would not be altering anying thing on the website to make the car appear to be different than what it is. That would not make any sense for us to do that. You can email me at toddc@jeffhaasmazda.com

Dec 13, 2014 -

jakeatdrums responded

I might still be interested in buying the car If you can make that possible. However, it's hard for us to find time to get up there. We live in clearlake and have a couple other cars we are wanting to test drive the beginning of next week. I'm not sure how soon we can find the time to make it up there again soon. My wife would have to be with me because the title of the trade is in her name and we have different schedules and are usually only both available for a couple hour window on weekday afternoons. That's part of the reason I was so upset that we made the trip up to your dealership on false pretenses.

Dec 15, 2014 -

jakeatdrums responded

I am considering the Jetta Sportwagen still. Out of curiosity, is there a way to do the trade-in if my wife is not present and the car we want to trade is in here name? Like I mentioned before, its very tricky for us to all make another trip up there. Especially with the baby. Let me know. my email is jakeatdrums@gmail.com

Jeff Haas Mazda responded

Yes, we can send the paper work back with you, and you and you can overnight it back. Our price will be 12,888 3888 trade 9,000 difference 9880.82 including tax, title and license

Dec 15, 2014 -

jakeatdrums responded

I'm sorry, $9000 is all we have. When someone says "out the door at $12,000", that includes license, tax, and title. That is what I have been saying all along.

Dec 16, 2014 -

Jeff Haas Mazda responded

I give up. We please most every one. You will be the exception i guess. We offered you a great deal. Sorry you feel the way you do. I am starting to feel the same way about you. I will respond to all of your untruthful reviews. MY offer is off the table to you. Todd Crabtree

Dec 16, 2014 -

jakeatdrums responded

Nothing I said was untruthful. I might edit the part about the wheels and simply say that they were described wrong rather than changed from an alloy to a steel. The big issue is that I was still told that I would be given a price that was not honored, I was still treated rudely and disrespected. I understand if you can't give me the price I ask for but when I called in and offered it your sales person should have said that you just couldn't do it rather than say you could and waste a huge chunk of my time. You admitted that I was mislead and you can't go back on that now. I'm super surprised that you don't know what the term 'out the door' means. It's very common in sales. I said I needed to be $9000 plus my trade "out the door" and you said you could do that, then went back on what you said just like your sales person did over the phone. You guys are shady and dishonest end of story. Look back on our conversation and see. I plan to leave more bad reviews everywhere I can about this. I'm also going to tell all my friends and family. You will lose buisness because of how I was treated. I think if you put yourself in my shoes and looked back on all this you would realize how wrong you are.

Dec 16, 2014 -

Jeff Haas Mazda responded

12,995, less 3995 for your trade is what i sent you in the email.... Where does that say out the door??????? You are wrong and seem to be unreasonable.. Go ahead and review all you want . the world will see how you truly are... One day you will realize how wrong you are and how good of deal we tried to give you. This will be my last response to you. You seem to thrive on this. The only thing Kelly could of done different is told you it depending on seeing your trade . That is why we are offering you more than car max for your trade plus selling ours so far below market value. If you cant realizr that, i dont have any more to say to you.

Dec 16, 2014 -

jakeatdrums responded

Out the door is what I requested and what you said you could do. Same with kelly. Work on your reading skills. I'm the bad guy because I called and asked if I could get a certain price if I made a trip to your dealership and was lied to? Give me a break. Typical car salesman. Get a respectable job.

Sorry you feel the way you do. Our pictures are 100 percent correct, and never would we remove wheels. We are a market base price store, meaning we put our best price on the website for a great no hassle experience. We beat you car max bid. with the price of our unit, offered a great price. Sorry about the missunderstanding you had with our appointment person. We will learn fron this and strive to make it more clear of our pricing policys.----------
