After receiving your complaint we contacted the local dealer in which you had the vehicle serviced. After approximately two months of ownership, they found that your ML had developed a locked brake piston caliper which caused the brake pad in question to be worn to excess, however it was still in place. This issue was a manufacturers defect and all repairs appear to have been covered under warranty and should not have cost you anything. The CPO inspection was completed by our technicians before your purchase and has been fully documented. Thank you for reaching out to us in regards to your recent service experience. After speaking with our technicians about the work performed on your 1987 300E there were a few variables that were brought to my attention. The tie-rods on one side of the vehicle were as new due to being recently replaced by a third party facility after an incident, while the other side appeared to be the original tie-rods with 102,000 miles of use, and unfortunately had been frozen to a point that they could not be adjusted to the required position to fix the off centered steering wheel. The only way to bring the steering wheel to the centered position is to replace the tie-rods on the other side of the vehicle to allow for proper alignment. Here at James Motor Company we have been providing excellent customer service for over 50 years. We pride ourselves on our ability to repair all Mercedes-Benz vehicles and sometimes there are just more parts required to make certain repairs.
