At first I thought all I needed to get my 2008 Impala back in operation was a Thermostat, Rear Brakes and 4 New Tires. This was according to the initial diagnostic. But after picking up my car and gettin back in operation was a Thermostat, Rear Brakes and 4 New Tires. This was according to the initial diagnostic. But after picking up my car and getting about 2 miles down the road, the same Engine Hot AC Off message came up on the display. So I turned around and took my car back to their Service department and after a few more days of diagnostics I was called with a $3500 estimate to have the Head Gasket replaced. But after speaking with my Service Representative he agreed that a further diagnostic should have been suggested since the thermostat had been replaced previously less than 2 years ago and there had been previous issues with this same Engine Hot AC Off issue. So he spoke with his Service Manager and they agreed to do the needed repairs for no more than $2800 out the door. Plus they would take a look at a problem I was having with the windshield washer not working. So in the end my car was repaired and I have a 24 month unlimited miles warranty on the head gasket replacement which actually only cost me $2,672 and they reattached the washer fluid line that had came lose. My car appears to be running great and I since I was approved for a GM BuyPower Card I qualified for a $200 rebate on my tires and I have 12 months 0% interest to pay off the repairs. So as long as I can get another 24 months out of my 2008 Impala I will be change this to a 5 Star rating! More
