I had a very pleasant experience trading my car. Teresa Scott was very professional and helpful. She was also very patient and friendly. After reading these reviews again I realize perhaps I should have asked for this "Art" who has all the good reviews....my experience was not so good. I emailed back and forth with Theresa at Ira Subaru of Danvers a half a dozen times regarding my looking for a new car and set up an appointment to meet with her today at 2pm (to discuss a new Outback or Forester). I arrived a little before 2 and was greeted pleasantly by the folks there. On three seperate occasions when I advised who I was meeting with the sales reps informed me they hadn't seen her for a little bit but would find out where she went. All three times the sales people disappeared and I did not see them again. I was finally informed (at 2:25) that the person I was scheduled to meet with was out on a test drive. She came back about that time and told me she would be with me shortly. At 3:00 I had waited long enough and left. I had rearranged my schedule for this appointment yet was barely acknowledged for the hour I spent waiting. I am annoyed my scheduled appointment was completely ignored. I am shocked she did not have the sense to have another rep help me if she was too busy (I was there over an hour and there were plenty of salesmen just milling around). I did receive an email from Theresa about six o'clock this evening (three hours after I left the dealership) apologizing, so I will give them that. However I would not consider giving this dealership my business after this horrible experience and I will certainly not be recommending Ira Subaru of Danvers to anyone - unless you have all day to wait...... More

I had a wonderful experience with this dealership. They didn't give me the lowest price I had been quoted, but they did give me the second lowest and the overall best experience. I ultimately chose Ira because I want to have a relationship with my dealership, feel like I'm treated fairly, and know that my car is in good hands when I bring it in for service. They also had one of the highest reviews on every rating site I came across. These factors are just as important to me as pricing. I worked with Emilio, and it was a low pressure, lay it out on the table with minimal BS experience. Though he wasn't able to answer some of my questions regarding the car, he did refer me to the areas that could. He also returned my calls relatively quickly, including calling me at 9:30 one night because he was concerned I would think he wasn't responding. He was honest and upfront about their inventory and what it would take to get the car I wanted. I was willing to wait to get the exact model, and was expecting it to take much longer. I was surprised when he called me two days later to tell me the car was in and ready for pick up. I came in the next day and the bluetooth and remote starter were both installed. The only disappointing thing was having to come back for the inspection sticker. I've always had my cars completely ready when I picked them up, and with my schedule time is always an issue. The only other minor issue is when I went to sign the paperwork the day I picked up the car, the price differed by $10/month on the contract I had signed. Luckily, I had asked for a copy of it before I left the night we made the sale. I got up and was ready to walk out because I had read about the issue on this site previously with the sales manager doing this to another customer, but the woman I worked with assured me it was a mistake and they claim it was because they added in the cost of the remote starter into the monthly payments, forgetting I was paying for it out of pocket. I'll never know if they were trying to scam me or not, but the price did reflect the difference of the starter in monthly payments, so I do try to believe it was a mistake. Had I not read about another customer's experience with this, I may not have asked for a copy of the finance agreement and this review may have gone a bit differently. However, not to harp on the minor issues. Overall, I would rate the experience a 4/5. Emilio was great, he helped me set up my bluetooth and followed up with me to make sure everything was going smoothly with the car. I got a fair price for my trade-in and a great deal on the car. They even detailed it for me for free when I accidentally stained the seat by spilling soda water on it. I hope to shop Ira Subaru again for my next car in a couple of years. More
Art Otremba, our salesperson was always accessible and stayed in touch with regular updates as he helped us search for the appropriate used car for an elderly driver-my 81 year old mother. In all honesty, not all the cars we looked at were satisfactory-but Art was persistent and wanted us to be happy and continued searching until we found the right one. The car we eventually purchased had several cosmetic repairs that were needed and Art saw to it that these things were all taken care of. The car looked great when we picked it up and so far my mother is very happy with it. Thanks Art. More

I shopped around a bit after my first test drive and felt let down by other dealerships--simple things like saying hello, exchanging names, reviewing the vehicle & coming along for a test drive were missing. I came back to where I started & after a 2nd test drive I am now a soon to be proud owner of a Subaru. Test driving the vehicle with Art is what helped me make my decision to buy a Subarau. He helped me understand how the car performs & how to avoid accidents. I truly appreciate the attentiveness, professionalism, and respect that Art provided me and will certainly recommend him to friends, family & will do business with him in the future. More

I was new to car buying through a dealership and Ira Subaru of Danvers couldn't have made it easier. Recommended to Ira through co-workers, my mother, and friends; I went to look at a car. The car ended up not meeting their specifications and it was sent to auction. (Love that they made sure the cars they were selling were not just any used cars, but that they had very high standards.) I gave Art the information on what type of car I was interested in, and heard back from him by the end of the week. Unbeknownst to Ira, I did look at other car dealerships within a 150 mile radius of where I was living and working. Only one car actually fit what I was looking for. However the dealership that I went to, was not a Subaru dealership. (There is something to be said about buying a used car from a dealership that sells only that brand of car.) I went so far as putting a deposit on the other vehicle and having it inspected. After more than a run-around by that dealership and then being nickel-and-dimed by them; I was conveniently contacted by Art, that evening, saying that he had the perfect car for me; which I purchased after his wonderful test drive that helped to highlight the qualities of the vehicle. Art and his fellow co-workers take their jobs with pride. They make sure to contact you only when you are available. (I work in a hospital, and this was very important to me!) They never tried to "up-sell" me on something that I could not afford. I could go on and on about the "old school" professionalism that Art and his manager Mike have, but when you pull into their parking lot you will understand what I am talking about. In the purchasing process, Mike sat down next to me and went through everything that they would take care of on the car, to assure that I would be driving away with a quality vehicle. In short and simple terms, everything that the "other dealership" did wrong, Ira did right with courtesy, expertise, and trust. I love my new-to-me Subaru Forester, and it is the best Subaru I have owned (now on Subaru number 3!) Thank you Ira Subaru of Danvers, Art, and Mike. More
