Ripoff pricing and questionable tatics - read on... Just spent close to an hour here and test drive. First off the good - I had Manny for a salesperson and he was great. I wish all salespeople were like him spent close to an hour here and test drive. First off the good - I had Manny for a salesperson and he was great. I wish all salespeople were like him. Very knowledgable, not pushy and no bs. First off the while I drove was an '07 but the only thing on the windshield was a huge "2009" sticker thought maybe a simple mistake. Get back to the dealer ready to buy the car at a reasonable price and was presented with paperwork that stated retail value of the car was $13,800 coincidentally that's the real retail value of an '09 Legacy with 75k miles. Asked the salesman about it and he says no thats the price. So I checked kbb and their retail value on this same model Legacy is $10,800! So I called the sales manager up and he says no they didn't get anything wrong! What?? I tell him about it and he says he doesn't care what kbb says, he has his own book! Huh wow well Goodluck selling cars for $3,000 over KBB RETAIL!!! That's ridiculous, I've never heard of a dealer asking for $3,000 OVER KBB or even $1 over KBB, that's unheard of and it seemed like a little bit of deception trying to get someone to think that it's a 2009 and not an 07. Buyer beware! More
We went in to look at a '12 Subaru Impreza WRX sedan. We worked with Gene who was friendly throughout the process and answered our questions about the car. When we went to sit down and talk about numbers, h worked with Gene who was friendly throughout the process and answered our questions about the car. When we went to sit down and talk about numbers, he had his sales manager put together a price sheet for us. It included the blue-book value of the car, what their asking price was, an immediate discount (without asking) of ~$1535 (This line item was labeled "Discount"), the resulting cost of the car, our trade-in value, and finally the resulting total amount along with their interest rate and an estimated monthly payment. Gene explained the numbers to me and everything was clear. We haggled on the price of my trade-in, and in the end settled on an amount. My credit union had closed for the day, so I wanted to put a $500 deposit on the car with the understanding that if I didn't get the financing I wanted from my credit union, there'd be no harm or foul and we'd get our deposit back. I handed him my credit card and when he came back, he presented me with a purchase agreement that didn't state that we'd get the deposit back, NOR did it include the discount. When I raised these issues, Gene dangled the contract in front of me and said "This doesn't mean anything, if you decide you don't want the car back, we'll give you the deposit back". Sounds good, but I still wanted it in writing. The issue of the discount was dodged entirely. Gene said there was no discount. When we complained further, his sales manager came over and explained that the numbers they presented us with were for ANOTHER CAR. She also said that the discount listed on that sheet was for a new car as a package discount (no such thing exists). When I asked to see the original paper again, she told me they lost it (over a span of 10 minutes they lost track of it and don't know what happened to it?). The sales manager refused to honor the price they initially had given me. I didn't sign the contract or place a down payment on the car. I walked out. To their credit, Gene called me the next morning to honor the numbers they had initially given me, except the number he gave me was still $400 over what it originally was. I didn't buy the car. More
Experience completely ruined by a rude and unprofessional General Sales Manager by the name of Melissa Wilson. She went out of her way a month after we purchased our new vehicle to call my husband to berate General Sales Manager by the name of Melissa Wilson. She went out of her way a month after we purchased our new vehicle to call my husband to berate him. She said that SHE was angry because we had given her dealership an unfavorable review. The only negative aspect of the review was for the excessively long wait we had when we came to pick up our car. We had completed the majority of the sale via fax but their finance dept. kept us captive so that they could try to sell us GAP insurance, extended warranty, etc. Which we had already politely declined by email when he initially sent it. When you go through the trouble of doing everything prior to avoid an extended wait, waiting for almost 3 hours with our check in hand is in an inconvenience. Avoid this dealership for their General Sales Manager's lack of professionalism and discretion. You should never call up a customer that just gave you $22K in business and yell at them. We will never return and certainly not for service. More
I was very pleased with the salesman and the price. I asked that a few scratchs be buffed out on the doors and they agreed but in the sun the car has swirl marks all over the sides of the car. I would like to say how disappointed I was as to how I was treated at IRA Subaru Danvers, MA, by one of your Sales Manager, Ed Cooperstein today. It was in such an unprofessional manner that I couldn't even believe he was a manager. The most important thing I wished he had done was kept my information confidential between my husband and I. Right as I approached the counter, he had started telling me how much money I would need to put down on the vehicle I was interested in and talked about my credit history out loud. I was fuming with anger and disappointment. He had also basically told me that he didn't want me to waste his time if I can't afford it, but I'd have to say that opne of your Sales Consultant, Emmanuel Figueroa, was very helpful. I would like to thank him for being patient and professional. He knew good customer service while I'd have to say Ed may need an evaluation and coaching on how to approach and speak to customers in a better and friendlier way. More
Can not and would not recommend buying anything from an Ira dealership. Worst buying experince ever. Drove out with a used Xterra and found issues that were suppose to be fixed before pick-up, were not. T Ira dealership. Worst buying experince ever. Drove out with a used Xterra and found issues that were suppose to be fixed before pick-up, were not. The windshield was cracked! When I went to pick up the registration my salesperson (Gene) was not around so Ed the salesmanager assisted but all he did was to tell me he'd check prices and have Gene call me. There were a number of standard equipment parts missing from the truck including the owners manual Nothing was big dollars and Ira owns 2 Nissan Dealerships so their cost would be minimal. It's been over 2 weeks and despite several calls, emails, and visits to the dealership my windshield is still cracked, the parts are still missing, and all I've recived is the run-around. Customer service is non-existing once you drive off the lot. They got their $$ and that's all that matters to Ira Motorgroup and their salespeople. UPDATE: This site works! After seeing my review, Melissa (GM?) stepped up to make amends and resolved all issues to my satisfaction. Even went so far as to replace, not repair, the windshield. I review quite a bit of merchandise and businesses and I have to give props when they're due. They are warranted in this case. More
All the staff was very courteous and informative. All our questions were answered respectfully. I was in for a Subaru recall notice for the car's computer. Richard the service manager told me it would take about an hour. I went to wait in the comfortable waiting area. My wife called me and t computer. Richard the service manager told me it would take about an hour. I went to wait in the comfortable waiting area. My wife called me and told me that her doctor's appointment was moved up and could I speed things up and come home to pick her up. I spoke with Richard and told him of my dilema. He said he would try to get me out as soon as possible. A few minutes later he told me he was able to get my car hooked up to a computer and I would be out shortly. He returned in a short while and told me my car was ready. I was able to get home and get my wife to her appointment on time. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. More
