Sales fine, service department is disappointing I recently decided to stop taking our Subaru Outback to Ira's service department. This is a car we originally leased from Ira, then bought at the end I recently decided to stop taking our Subaru Outback to Ira's service department. This is a car we originally leased from Ira, then bought at the end of the lease. This process was mostly painless and reasonable although the business manager thought it appropriate to keep my wife and then 1-year-old child at the dealership well past 9PM in order to ask me to buy more and more extras. *ahem* When I brought the car in for repairs after an extremely minor accident, they noticed that two tires were worn, and I scheduled a replacement. My wife brought the car in. She was told that the tires were unavailable and she would have to pay for four replacements, until an employee went to a store to buy them. The price for this replacement and alignment was over twice what I was quoted when the service was scheduled. Further, the front wheels were not balanced and I needed to have this done, which I did at another garage, where I will take all my business in the future. While the car was under lease, I pre-paid scheduled maintenance, and this also included some tire replacements, which did NOT have any problems. So this has changed. More
Not worth thet rouble I called the dealer today. I was routed to an automated recording that told me that there was a hold time of less than 1 minute. Since we were in the I called the dealer today. I was routed to an automated recording that told me that there was a hold time of less than 1 minute. Since we were in the car i left the phone on speaker for 21 minutes. No one ever picked up but the machine told me that the hold to time was less than one minute ... for the whole 21 minutes. My wife called a few more times and eventually we found a real person. she was very nice and apologized for the screw up. She said she would get us a real person to speak to on the phone. So after being put on hold again for 30 seconds we were routed to some sales mans voice mail. Who said it was Saturday and he was in the office.... today is Tuesday. the reason we wanted to talk to someone was that in the past the IRA group has posted online inventory and when you arrive at the dealer the cars are not really there. Beware. We have not bought a car from IRA since 2002, we find other dealers provide better service and better pricing. The problem is that for us, the non-IRA dealers are an additional 30 minute longer drive (each way). IRA grinds out sales, the sales guys hover outside the IRA Toyota dealer like vultures waiting for a potential customer to come in. Its really creepy. If any dealers other than IRA read this feel free to contact me. We are looking for a new Subaru to purchase within the next few days. More

Sad Subaru Story Bought a 2010 Legacy from IRA Subaru this past spring. Carfax indicated one owner, same selling and frequent servicing dealer, IRA. Car needed belt Bought a 2010 Legacy from IRA Subaru this past spring. Carfax indicated one owner, same selling and frequent servicing dealer, IRA. Car needed belt tensioner as soon as it arrived. One month later it needed $1,700.00 torque converter. Car needs $500.00 valve, part of transmission. Wrote a review on Cars.com and service manager Mr. Feehy called me and asked for copies of bills. Sent him both. Haven't heard from him or Nancy Buell. E-mailed Subaru Corp. and am presently waiting to hear. Will keep you posted. More
If you want to have a pleasant experience, Ira Subaru is not a place for you. Stopped by to try to purchase a used car for my son as a late birthday present after seeing it on cars.com. Initially all went w not a place for you. Stopped by to try to purchase a used car for my son as a late birthday present after seeing it on cars.com. Initially all went well until we sat down to talk to a sales rep who couldn't answer a single question without getting an approval from an acting manager Melissa Wilson. Asked for a car fax report, which was never produced, also tried to inquire about financing and never got a response. eventually, suggested to leave a deposit on the car, which was rudely refused by Melissa Wilson. Perplexed by the rude treatment we left the dealership never to return again. Final straw was a follow up call the next day by another rep, who told us the car was sold and we should not be trying to come back and look for it. I have bought from Ira Motor Group before, but will definitely look elsewhere. Too bad for Ira, since we will be looking for two new cars soon. More
This dealership has consistently provided the most friendly, reliable, reasonably priced and overall excellent service I've ever experienced in 35+ years of owning cars. All repairs have held up witho friendly, reliable, reasonably priced and overall excellent service I've ever experienced in 35+ years of owning cars. All repairs have held up without ever having any further issues on anything they've fixed on my car. They work with you to find the best solution for your needs. The service department feels more like an independent, family run business than a corporate center. The emphasis they put on customer service is sincere and extraordinary in today's business world. I have purchased 2 Subaru vehicles from IRA Subaru (my first one back in 1989 from Gauthier Motors in Salem MA) and have been very happy with the sales reps. I do tend to keep my subarus for 12 or more y first one back in 1989 from Gauthier Motors in Salem MA) and have been very happy with the sales reps. I do tend to keep my subarus for 12 or more years - they are well made and keep on going and going. From my experience the Service Department team can make or break a dealership. If a service team is not a good fit, I would go else where and this has happened in the past with different car manufactures/service teams. I have found Ken Boutwell and his service team to be nothing but exceptional!!!! Any minor problems (can not think of any specifics because it happens so rarely) were always addressed immediately to my complete satisfaction. The service team cares for my cars and I completely trust their knowledge. Always friendly, courteous, completely professional people who will tell you when it's just not worth it to fix your current Subaru. So when it's time for a new Subaru, IRA Subaru is where I will go knowing after the sale team, Ken's service team will completely take care of my car and more importantly-me. More
I went in with every intention of buying a 2014 Subaru Forester. I was greeted promptly by a gentleman named Emilio Rodriguez. It turned out to be one of the best dealership experiences I have ever had Forester. I was greeted promptly by a gentleman named Emilio Rodriguez. It turned out to be one of the best dealership experiences I have ever had and I have bought quite a few cars. Emilio is everything that you would want in a salesperson. He was friendly (important), very knowledgeable (important), patient (important), and not pushy in the least (very important). He's a great guy and we had some good conversations that weren't related to cars. In any case, we came to some numbers and IRA Subaru gave me an incredible deal. In the end, I decided not to buy, but only because I reevaluated my finances and decided to be smart (my trade was perfectly fine and only 6 months old - lol). Emilio didn't try to BS me or pull out last ditch attempts to get me to buy the car. He said he respected my decision, and that in turn resulted in the highest respect from me. I also worked with Alcir, who was just as awesome. They're a great duo (think Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz tandem). ASK FOR EMILIO RODRIGUEZ!!!!!!!!!!!! More

I recently purchase a car from Ira Subaru at Danvers. Usually I don't write a review often but this time I hope to leave a comment for a specific salesman I worked with, Ross Novak. As all we know, it Usually I don't write a review often but this time I hope to leave a comment for a specific salesman I worked with, Ross Novak. As all we know, it is extremely hard to find a reliable car salesperson in US and thus the car buying is usually a painful, time-consuming process. I think I was lucky this time because I met Ross. He is very helpful in all sense. He gave me all the information for my new car, Forester 2014, but without pressure to buy it. Other car salespersons I have met before were very good at "persuading", but we all know that their words are typically too good to misguide the car buyer. Ross was different, provided the right information, and I could feel he was trying to help me to choose the right car for me. The only one reason I gave four star instead of five is not because of Ross, but due to the doc fee of Ira Subaru. I think Ira Subaru is a reliable car dealer as well based on the feelings I had during my visit, but their doc fee seems too high to me. The doc fee was $399, which is much higher than other dealers, even compared to Honda or Toyota. I don't know this is commont to Subaru dealers, though. Overall, I was satisfied with my car buying experience at Ira Subaru, especially with Ross. I already talked to my friends and students to contact him for their future purchase and of course I will make a business with him for my future purchase too. More
