I bought a 2013 Chevy Volt in May 2025. I took a flight form California to buy this car that I thought it was a good deal. Little did I know the trouble I was in for. First off I took it for a test drive and the car was making a noise when turning. The Service person looked at it and said it was the axal. The salesmen said we can get it fixed for you, I agreed to have them fix it. This was on a Saturday and had to be at work on Monday. Later that day the Dealer called to say It was fixed. When I picked up the car they replaced the wrong axle. So they would Replace the right one but not until Monday, I needed to be at work, so had to call and tell the people I had a meeting with I could not make it and had to reschedule. The car was done Monday and it made it back to California. A few days later I felt a vibration in the front, took it to mechanic and they told me the struts were bad. That cost me $600. Fast forward to 4/7 the car would not take a charge. I had it towed to the dealer and come to find out the Hybrid battery was bad. Dealer says its $8000 just for parts. I contacted Ideal Cars and informed me that they cant do anything about it " YOU BOUGHT A USED 2013 CHEVY VOLT !" He also informed me that they sell cars they do not take care of Maintenance and wear and tear. In conclusion I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS DEALER IF YOU WANT TO BUY A CAR!!! Now I know what a Lemon Lot means. I feel I got ripped off. Thanks Ideal Cars !!!! More
Too many fees. They price their cars below market, so they can add 50% in fees. $4491 becomes $6500. Sales persons are nice, and honest about the fees. Prices are good. They have extra fees, but so do all of the other places that I went to. Customer service was good, they were friendly, not fake. Brought a vehicle on7/29/25. And yes prices change then what’s advertised on their website. Vehicle went up to 13,999.00. I put 13,000.00 cash down. They found me a lender because now I owe 7,000.00. Taxes, I think Gap, I really don’t know. Because my lenders change a couple of times. And reconditioning fee and tint charges. I owed the car for 20 weeks. Put brand new tires and rims. Tune up. Brakes squeaked really bad and embarrassing. They had cheap brakes on there. I put better brand on there. Did an oil change and they repoed my car being I thought 16 days late on my first payment. They said it was 23 days late on my first car payment, Yip! I had the car for exactly 20 weeks and was late making my 1st car payment. The dealership repoed it. Not the bank. I am so lost with all this. This has really taken a toll on me. Just been so depressed and ready down about it. The dealership picked up my car right before Christmas. And my Birthday. Ruined my holidays. And I have 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren and I just avoided any holiday celebrating. I can’t sleep because I cannot believe they did this to me. More
They added extra fees once I got to the dealership, they didn’t wash my car, the sales guy David literally said, “because these are used cars not new.” They didn’t even rinse the outside of the vehicle. I asked him specifics about the car and he didn’t know, and he literally said, “you can Google.” They gave me one key that was broken and told me I could go up the street to their guy who makes keys at a low rate. They kept asking me how much money I had to put down instead of being straight forward about financing. I only went through them because they were an approved dealer with my bank. Do not recommend! If I could give them a double zero rating, I would. Don't buy a car from them unless you want thousands of dollars added to your contract (hidden) without you knowing it. They have you sign on a tablet so you are unable to read all of your contract & then they email the contract to you. I had my doubts and should have checked out the reviews on yelp, because they are BAD!!! We should have known better. They didn't ask if they could run our credit, they just ran it with a lender that we didn't want. They added almost $5000 by the way they did the breakdown...but again, you couldn't see it. Then they added a reconditioning fee of $2,249.00 to make the "truck look good". That's no even something that you legally have to pay...but again, it was hidden. When we went back in and tried to talk to them, (TIM) told us that he wasn't going to correct anything and was extremely unprofessional. They lure you in, rush you out, and quietly cheat you. We've purchase a lot of cars and trucks, but this was absolutely the WORST car buying experience ever. They are money hungry devils!!! More
Got to the dealership and test drove one of their cars. It drove pretty good and now unusual sounds. Engine and transmission were just fine. Upon further inspection, ALL FOUR TIRES were different with likely 4-5/32 of tread left except for ONE tire which looked new. I opened the engine bay and noticed how clean it was. I made a comment about how they (the dealer) did a great job cleaning the car. The sales guy then says, "Oh well, that was likely the previous owner who cleaned it. We don't look at these cars because we know we're only getting good cars." I thought cool, let's go in and talk numbers. Sat down and sales guy hands me a piece of paper with a price that is TWICE the online advertised price. He says we have to qualify for the advertised price, after asking why it's so much. He also points to a $2250 "Reconditioning Fee". If you did ANY reconditioning, I would AT LEAST see 4 NEW matching tires. HUGE RED FLAG! I can immediately tell they were lying. Shady business practices. I KNOW how dealerships are ran and they are NOT one of the good ones. I immediately figured out that they prey on the uninformed. BUYER BEWARE! More
