Frankie, our Hyundai dealer, was friendly and personable. He showed us the car we wanted, took us for a test drive, showed us the features of the car, and had it detailed. And what I also liked was that the deal was done quickly, no dilly dallying around, we were in and out in about an hour. Fast and friendly service, that's what it's about. More
Expectations Not Met My expectations were not met. I had researched the details of this vehicle, and a short list of competitors for quite some time. Upon my initial vis My expectations were not met. I had researched the details of this vehicle, and a short list of competitors for quite some time. Upon my initial visit to the dealership (Saturday afternoon) I found the sales person's knowledge of his car lacking. I found him either disinterested, or distracted. I found the sales manager willing to help and was encouraged, and asked to come back the next day. I was then paired with a young salesperson who was still not understanding his product, but was a least present in our conversations. Clearly the object was to "roll" the car out of the showroom. I had voiced my concern about my credit history (poor) and did not want to waste the dealership time or mine if we could not strike a deal. I was told there would be no problem. this resulted in 2 additional lengthy trips for both myself and my wife to the dealership to settle the financing process, a parade of financing type guys, and quiet conversations outside of the financing office which ultimately resulted in more money being required. I am feeling that the more care should have been taken to forego the "rolling " of the car on that Sunday evening to better understand what options we had available the next day, and more consideration for our time. An additional top off of gas was provided after our 3rd trip to the dealership, which was a nice gesture, but poorly executed. While the car was received in terrific condition, there were no tutorials, or time spent for what I would call a more formal introduction to the car, it features, its blue link set up, its Sirius setup, it capabilities, or its included options. Again, there was a general lack of understanding by any of the sales team in knowing the product. A product; mind you, that is in its 2nd year of the new model / generation. My expectation is that if Hyundai are going to sell a $50K car, in a competitive market place, with established competitors; that the reliance on the cars lower cost, and plethora of features / options is not enough. Anything short of this results in your re-branding, and reselling the EXCEL all over again. The sales team should know of what they speak, and that the developing a relationship early on with the service team, and their owning my ownership process is now, after the "sale" of paramount importance. More
