BUYER BEWARE! ! Unless you like Bait-and-switch & False advertisement: They lure you in with a “Great Price” and when you agree to pay the price advertised, they co ! Unless you like Bait-and-switch & False advertisement: They lure you in with a “Great Price” and when you agree to pay the price advertised, they come back with an Out-the-Door price $15,500 more!! A $46,444 vehicle is now over $62,000. How can that be possible, you might ask? FEES. Tax, Title, License (as expected- but was not adjusted to my state), Document fees, and an approx. $5,000 “accessory package” they “always add”, an approx. $4,000 “Transport/ Service fee”, an approx. $1,000 VIN Etching/ Nitrogen Tire fee, etc. These FEES ARE NOT NORMAL. Their business practices should be illegal! I just read other reviews, and it looks like the Financing Practices are also shady- not accepting cash, refusing to let people use their financial institution’s pre-approved offers making you finance through them so they get a commission (this is no special financing, which would be normal for New vehicles not used- rates are awful for people with great credit, 2-3% points higher than other banks!), I can only imagine that the people actually buying cars here have NO CLUE how this process should work. Consider all the other low reviews and GO ELSEWHERE! (Side note- Steve in sales was nice, polite, patient, and had no control of the outcome of the sale. The vehicle I was looking at had a transmission replaced at 30,000 miles.. yikes! Ask questions- review the service records. They also raised the price of the vehicle after we left!!) More

Huntley Ford and Bear Auto Group engages in highly questionable business practices that, while not strictly a textbook "bait-and-switch," are undeniably deceptive and unethical. The dealership attract questionable business practices that, while not strictly a textbook "bait-and-switch," are undeniably deceptive and unethical. The dealership attracts customers by advertising reasonably priced used vehicles, only to inflate the final cost with massive and unjustifiable add-on fees during the buying process. Shipping and VIN etching charges—sometimes totaling a staggering 10–20% increase over the agreed sale price—are routinely tacked onto vehicles that are already onsite, despite there being no legitimate justification for such fees. In my experience only a single key fob is provided. Bear Auto Group may also charge up to $900 or more for key fob programming, a service that independent locksmiths commonly provide for $50–$100, while the basic hardware itself often costs the dealer as little as $20. In some cases, customers are forced to pay for multiple fobs or endure triple digit labor fees simply to regain access to their own vehicles. These upcharges are a classic example of "junk fees" and "add-on fraud," which consumer protection agencies and the Federal Trade Commission have targeted as deceptive and abusive. VIN etching, for example, is often presented as a must-have security feature, but studies have shown that dealerships pad profits by charging hundreds of dollars for a service that costs them as little as $20 per vehicle—offering little to no real world value to the buyer. Transportation fees are typically associated with new car deliveries, not used vehicles that are physically present at the lot, making such charges little more than an underhanded way to squeeze more money from buyers. Bear Auto Group’s use of hidden fees is not only out of step with standard sales ethics, but also serves as a warning sign to any prospective buyer. Reputable dealerships build trust by providing total transparency and delivering value—not by padding their bottom line with misleading surcharges and last-minute upcharges. The fact that Bear Auto Group relies on these tactics reveals a profound disregard for customer trust and the principles of fair dealing. Any consumer considering this dealership should be on high alert for dishonesty and be prepared to challenge every additional charge. Buyer beware: Such practices not only damage Bear Auto Group’s reputation, they undermine confidence in the entire auto sales industry. Shop elsewhere if integrity and fair pricing matter. More

***If you only read one review of Huntley Ford, I hope you’ll consider this one. I’ve spent nearly two years living with the consequences of my purchase, and I’ve put real time and thought into laying out you’ll consider this one. I’ve spent nearly two years living with the consequences of my purchase, and I’ve put real time and thought into laying out my experience. I’ve also compared my story against hundreds of others across multiple review sites. Yes, it’s longer than most reviews—but buying a car isn’t buying a stapler, it’s a serious decision. Taking a few minutes here could save you from the headache I’ve been living for almost two years.*** Huntley Ford Review I purchased my vehicle from Huntley Ford at the beginning of 2024. At the time, the buying experience, while a bit lengthy, felt generally pleasant. In retrospect, I realize I was being worked over the entire time. In the spirit of fairness, I must report that the vehicle itself has been reliable and enjoyable over the past 20 months. The Numbers Don’t Add Up The car was advertised for $37,777, but the final out-the-door cost was about $55,000. That included a $5,000 “certification” fee never mentioned upfront and a $5,000 warranty I purchased like an absolute moron. Now, that doesn’t say much about me for buying it, but it says even less about a dealership that is willing to sell a warranty that actually covers less than the manufacturer’s included warranty, and take more money from a customer already spending a great deal with them. Oversight vs. Responsibility I rushed the process during a chaotic time in my life and didn’t scrutinize every detail. That’s 100% on me. But reputable dealerships shouldn’t require customers to be on guard against every angle. A straightforward purchase shouldn’t demand that level of vigilance. The Warranty Refund Runaround Two months after purchase, once life calmed down, I reviewed my contract and warranty materials and realized how badly I had been taken advantage of. I immediately reached out to my salesman, Simon. He said he’d take care of canceling the warranty but never followed through, a pattern I would become very familiar with at Huntley Ford. In April 2024, I emailed the general manager, Mr. Kittaneh, explaining the situation and followed up by email two more times. I received no response. Fast forward to March 2025: I finally connected with Frank Flewelling. He said he would help and sent the refund form on March 24. After a couple of back-and-forths to get the details correct, I returned the form on March 31. After that, it was radio silence. Six separate phone calls where I was promised a call back resulted in not a single return call. I also sent three emails during this period (one directly to Mr. Kittaneh and all copying him along with Frank). None were answered. Ratings and Reputation On Google, Huntley Ford shows around 5,600 reviews with a 4.1-star average, and I’m not sure how they manage that. Clearly, they decide which review platforms they want to curate and pay attention to, and which ones they don’t. Elsewhere, the numbers tell a different story: • Yelp: 1.5/5 stars • Better Business Bureau: 2.5/5 stars from customers, despite an A+ accreditation—which makes me question how the BBB rates businesses. That’s not the focus here. • CarGurus: 2.5/5 stars The contrast between the polished Google presence and their scores elsewhere raises reasonable questions about what those numbers really reflect. Conclusion If you buy a car from Huntley Ford, the vehicle itself will probably be fine. But go in with your guard up; way up. I understand profits must be made, but most businesses balance the company’s interests with the customer’s best interests. That is not their concern at Huntley Ford. They are 100% company-driven and profit-driven, and they don’t care how it affects their customers once they have their money. Huntley Ford on occasion responds to their negative reviews; this is strictly for optics. They post apologies and promise callbacks, but there is no follow-up. I personally got responses from seven reviewers across various platforms who received those More
