A total stress free and helpful car buying experience ! I went to Honda to get an idea of what I might like for new car. I ended up purchasing a used Ford Titanium. Manipulation & Deceit My husband and I went to trade in our old Buick. Salesman pointed out a car, gave us the list price and the monthly lease amount - we said okay. It to My husband and I went to trade in our old Buick. Salesman pointed out a car, gave us the list price and the monthly lease amount - we said okay. It took them THREE HOURS to do up the paperwork. By that time we were the only ones in the dealership, it being an hour and a half past closing time. They finally present us with the contract, having thought they made us wait long enough. Apparently they thought we couldn't read a lease contract, all of a sudden the price of the car had increased $2300! We called them on it and said we can't sign THAT, it was not we agreed to. All of a sudden the office was flooded with people, "oh, we thought you wanted this extra thing" No! It was very obvious they had underestimated us and had tried to slip us a fast one! They then said oh well, we'll correct it and they then printed out a corrected contract in 5 MINUTES!! But the first one took 3 hours! And this was AFTER the credit check had happened. Thank God I used to work in a bank lending dept and can read a loan/lease contract, because I think the average consumer would have fallen for this MANIPULATION & DECEIT. More
