Free loaner car Joe was my service advisor and he took good care of me and my car. Unpleasant experience I went as my car was on recall for airbag replacement and the Honda operator made the appointment at Honda North. I was told on the phone that there w I went as my car was on recall for airbag replacement and the Honda operator made the appointment at Honda North. I was told on the phone that there would be NO inconvenience or cost for me the customer. Well there was both. The wait was long for the checking in and rental car arrangements. Then I was asked for a credit card I told him I did not have a credit card. I was then asked if I had a debit card when I asked why I was told it was just to secure the car and they would charge my card and then refund the amount when i returned the car. I told them there was no money on the card so it could not be charged. He then went and got Joe who said I needed a credit card in order to get the rental I then expressed to him that I was told there was no cost to me. Then he went and got a big boss who preceded to tell me I needed a credit card for the $17.98 rental car insurance, non-refundable to me. I was never told by anyone on the phone when the appointment was made that there was a charge for Insurance. Keep in mind this was done in a very crowded waiting area with people listening to my personal financially situation not only was it embarrassing it was humiliating. When I told the big boss that not everyone had credit cards or money in there debit accounts and there must be a reason I was driving a 13 year old car he told me that HONDA Corp did not get reimburse for the rental Insurance so I then offered my car insurance as we all know that rental car insurance is not necessary if you have sufficient car insurance which I have. He then told me that Honda North would cover the $17.98 but he wanted me to know it was paid by them not the corp. Gee I hope he doesn't go broke over $17.98. It should never ever cost the customer anything for a loaner car to have a recall repaired. I also know that car rental insurance is a scam if you have your own car insurance.
