AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COST! I purchased a used 2007 Honda Accord from Honda North in February 2010. I purchased the extended warranty as well as a paint protectant which was applied to the paint f 2007 Honda Accord from Honda North in February 2010. I purchased the extended warranty as well as a paint protectant which was applied to the paint finish. I picked the car up on a Tuesday and went to wash it the following Saturday at HMA Car Detailing in Salem, MA. When I was drying the car I noticed spots all down the passenger side of the car so I had the owner of HMA take a look at my car and he said that it seems that the finish was applied over tar spots. Honda North had applied the paint protector without properly cleaning the car first. I returned to the dealership to show them the mess of the car and this was the beginning of a nightmare. From this point on I was treated like dirt by the managers and employees of this TERRIBLE dealership. I had requested to bring my car to HMA for them to wet sand and detail my car and they told me that I could only have it done at a company they deal with. They assured me that it was being sent to Auto Body Clinic in Peabody which they said was a large reputable company. The car was to be ready the next day but when I called to see if I could pick it up they said it would be one more day. I decided to call Auto Body Clinic to see what work that they had done on my car just to find out the car was never sent there. It was sent to another shop in Peabody. When I received my car back I was not at all satisfied. They had wet sanded the car and made a mess on the hood and there was still a lot of tar remaining on the bumper. When I let them know I was not satisfied the manager laughed and said "What do you want? It's a used car." I paid $16,000 for this used car which Honda North made a mess of because of their negligence. I made several trips to this dealership only to be lied to over and over again. At one point a manager closed the door of the office and had his finger in my face and yelled at me and told me never to return to the dealership again. Then he told me that the warranty I had purchased required me to return to their dealer ship for service. On March 31st I wrote a letter to cancel my warranty so I would never have to return to this dealership again. They told me that the $1380 would be sent to the lien holder and taken off the balance of my loan within 5 weeks. Two weeks later I got a call from one of the employees in the finance department saying that I should consider keeping the warranty. I was furious because I had canceled the warranty two weeks prior and purchased a new warranty from a much more reputable dealership HONDA CARS OF BOSTON. (If you want real service and GREAT customer service go to this dealership. I wish I had gone there first.) I told him he better cancel my warranty immediately. I called back two days later to make sure he had canceled it and he assured me that everything was all set and it should be credited to my loan within 5 weeks. Four weeks passed and I was in the process of refinancing my car and I called to get the payoff amount on the loan only to find out it had not yet been credited. I located the number of the company that Honda North purchases their extended warranties and called them to see when I should expect the $1380 to be credited to my loan only to find out that HONDA NORTH HAD NEVER CONTACTED THEM. I returned to the dealership and confronted them about this and had the same TERRIBLE service I have come to expect from them. They wouldn't give me the money until I made them aware that I had acquired a lawyer and also was in the process of reporting them to Help Me Hank of Channel 7 news. Save yourself MANY HEADACHES and STAY AWAY FROM HONDA NORTH!!!! IF YOU WANT GREAT SERVICE GO TO HONDA CARS OF BOSTON, YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID! More
Their service department destroyed my brand new cars interior. The kid that works there had a keychain dangling from his waist. There were about 50 keys on in, no eggageration. He is climbing in and interior. The kid that works there had a keychain dangling from his waist. There were about 50 keys on in, no eggageration. He is climbing in and out of the car with his feet on my leather seats and dragging his keys across my console and everything else. He dripped ink on my red leather from a black pen. He scuffed the leather with the soles of his sneakers. He scratched the heck out of my console and passenger door panel with his keys. I watched all this happen in front of my eyes and pointed it out to a service manager immediately. He tells me to calm down it's a Honda not a Ferrari. Nice thing to say about your own brand. They lost my key so I had to make an extra trip to bring them my spare. They never found it so now I only have one remote for the factory alarm/door locks. When I went back for the third time to finally pick the vahicle up there was a rust ring from where they had set down some type of spray can or other metal can and it was there so long it left a rust ring on my silver paint of my trunk. After dozens of phone calls to different managers and getting nowhere I talked to the owner and he wouldn't do anything for me either. Beware of this dealership. They are bad news from the top to the bottom. More
Went to Honda North looking for a new Honda CR-V and while negotiating a price with the as well has having the dealership appraise my trade in, I found out the whoever appraised my vehicle actually went while negotiating a price with the as well has having the dealership appraise my trade in, I found out the whoever appraised my vehicle actually went through my work files which were in a folder on my floorboard. This is an outrage considering they actually wanted my business. Do not trust this dealership--they live up to every negative stereotype that all car dealerships are trying to get out from underneath. To add fuel to the fire, the price that they actually quoted me was $2000 above MSRP (which, I guess they could pull off on someone who did not do their homework but I immediately left after seeing this ridiculous price). Be wary of this place. More

However, the service department, along with their Service Manager claimed otherwise and gave me a quote of $5065.00 plus tax to replace short block. I told them I had a case # through Honda Cars of America and that they said it was under warranty. They would not accept that. I then called back Honda Cars of America and told them what Honda North claimed and they offered to call up Honda North and have them make repairs for free. I declined their offer and took my vehicle to Honda Cars of Boston instead. I received AWESOME service from Eugene of Honda Cars of Boston!! I would never step foot in Honda North again. Since telling people about my experience, I have heard a number of terrible things that have happened there. Although, it is nice to know I am not alone in my feelings, I feel that something should be done to correct this terrible service department. I would not recommend Honda North to anyone!! Maybe Honda North should take some Customer Service training classes from Eugene Anderson of Honda Cars of Boston!! More

Larry met us on the lot answered my questions and asked what he could do to get me in a car that day. When I told him nothing, I was still thinking about what I wanted to do, he didn't push me. He called me a few days later to follow up. When I decided to go with the Civic, I called and asked for his best price. He gave me a good price and there was no bs later. I was afraid they wouldn't give me anything for a trade in, but, when I arrived with my old car, to my utter amazement they offered me $2000 for it. We filled out the paperwork, went to the business manager Jameel, spent some time with him where he got me a better interest rate than my CU was offering me. The next day we went back after work, all the paperwork was done, my plates had been transferred, I got in my new car and drove away. No pressure, no sleaze, no BS: I'm looking forward to a long relationship with them. More
Me & my wife DREAD buying cars. The pricing games, bait & switch advertisements & the wasted weekends spent shopping around have all been huge negative factors over the years. We bought our other car @ Lexus switch advertisements & the wasted weekends spent shopping around have all been huge negative factors over the years. We bought our other car @ Lexus of Watertown to break this trend & it worked. Looking back to yesterdays Honda North experience, I'm realizing that it was pretty much the same. Honda North gives you their best price right from the start & the negotiation turns into a conversation. Shopping around proves this price to be slightly lower than the price after lengthy negotiations @ other dealers. They throw in free inspection stickers & oil changes which is all nice but I appreciated them trying to build a relationship rather than them pushing a one time deal very DESIRABLE. Respect & understanding are qualities easily found here which cannot be said about a place like Boch. I ended up talking to 4 or 5 sales guys who were all good guys & then the finance guy Paul was great. He laid out several payment options & then found me a lower rate than I was hoping for from a credit union. I will tell friend & family to use Honda North in the future without question. More
just bought a brand new CRV yesterday from Honda North in just bought a brand new CRV yesterday from Honda North in Danvers. I narrowed it down to three dealerships based on reviews and customer satisfaction just bought a brand new CRV yesterday from Honda North in Danvers. I narrowed it down to three dealerships based on reviews and customer satisfaction scores: Prime Honda in Boston, Rockingham Honda in Salem, NH, and this one. I started at this one because it was closest (technically Boston is closest but it's a pain to get to). I worked with Tim and originally took a glacier blue EX for a test drive. He was great to work with, no pressure at all. We talked about different car options, he asked what else I was considering and we discussed the RAV4. He didn't bash Toyota whatsoever, said they were both excellent choices and I wouldn't be sorry with either, and that people have a couple of personal preferences that either make them RAV4 customers or CRV customers. He was exactly right and I was truly torn until I walked out of the Ira Danvers dealership so disgusted I wanted nothing to do with Toyota whatsoever. I ended up going back and taking another test drive, and from there my decision was made. There was minimal haggling, I knew what I could put down and what I could afford for a monthly payment. The finance manager Paul got my APR down from 8.24% to 5.99% to keep my payment in the range I needed. All was well for me to pick up the car until I woke up this morning feeling dissatisfied with my monthly payment and my extended warranty. I originally accepted Portfolio (First Extended Services Corp) but after reading reviews when I got home yesterday I definitely made a mistake. Tim told me to come on down and they would take care of it no problem, and he was true to his word. They honored the Honda Care warranty competitive pricing at $850 for 7 years/100k miles comprehensive with zero deductible. I saved almost $800 and it lowered my payment $12/month. My finance manager was off today so another manager named Dave handled the contract changes. He wasn't very friendly and seemed slightly annoyed, but I don't really blame him. The dealership also does your first three oil changes for free and then every third oil change is free from there on out. They also extend the powertrain warranty to 7 years/100k miles standard for free if you do all your maintenance at their dealership on time. Their service pricing is also competitive. A remote starter including labor is $400 less there than from Herb Chambers of Boston. The only thing I would say is be careful to ask all questions before you sign. Tim asked me to sign the P&S and initial the deposit box before we negotiated on price, which I refused, and he accepted that without an argument. The finance manager did not tell me everything up front about the extended services such as price and what's covered. I should've asked more details about the warranty and asked to see brochures, but that was my own fault. Everyone I interacted with was respectful and responsivle, and the staff truly seemed to enjoy working there. Lots of interaction and joking/laughing. Overall, I would rate it a 4.7/5 and if all goes well I hope to buy again in four years or so. More
My wife and I went here to buy a new CRV. Honda North insulted us by offering $5,000 less on our 2008 Toyota thats listed in KBB.We went to another dealership (Rockingham Honda) and made the deal work. Let the buyer beware!!!!!! I have to say my last service at Honda North was not the worst dealer experience but a very close second. I will tell you that I have been a Honda North customer for many years a at Honda North was not the worst dealer experience but a very close second. I will tell you that I have been a Honda North customer for many years and purchased 7 different cars since 1985. Something has changed at Honda North and not for the better. My car was damaged by a service tech trying to load tires in my trunk. They completely blow me off saying" we don't damage cars." Now, I tried to talk with them and basically was called a lier. I have had a number of very good experiences at Honda North in the past, the last one three years ago when I made my last purchase. I can tell you that the service department has taken a dramatic down turn. The staff is unfriendly, unprofessional and full of attitude. I have been in business for many years and things like this always come from the top down. By that I will bet a months salary it is systemic. I am going to buy a car in the next six months. I will need to find another dealership. I never write these things so believe me when I say (STAY AWAY FROM HONDA NORTH.) You will save yourself a lot of trouble. PS. I brought my complaint to American Honda yet another first for me and was treated like a criminal. They said it was between me and the dealer. I am currently looking at Toyota. I hear they are still treating people with respect. What happened to Honda customer service? More
