Honda City Chicago Lesson First of all, I wish there is zero star rating because I will pick this rating! I never wrote a review in life. Something is extremely awful and worst First of all, I wish there is zero star rating because I will pick this rating! I never wrote a review in life. Something is extremely awful and worst that prompted me to open my first dealerrater account to write my first review in life, hoping to spread the words to help others stay away from this dealership based on my own experience. I lived down the street from this dealer (within 3 miles radius). This is my second visit to them. This will be definitely my last time. Out of my stupidity, I bought a 2006 Honda Odyssey EX-L with 112K miles on May 9th from them, thinking it would be safer getting a 'certified' Honda car from Honda dealership, rather than from those mom-and-pop shops down on Archer. My first visit to this dealer was about 7 years ago, trying to trade-in my old dodge caravan. When the car we wanted didn't work out, we thanked for their time and asked for our caravan key back so that we could leave. They actually 'confiscated' my key to my van and kept bringing different similar cars for us to see. I kept telling them 'no thanks I don't like besides the car we came in to see, please give my keys back'. I started actually getting worried due to their hostility behavior towards us (partly it was due to my English was not fluent back then). Finally the manager (I wish I remember his name) stormed out from the office and yelled at us which I still vividly remember "DO YOU KNOW HOW VALUABLE MY TIME IS? VERY VALUABLE (he answered his own question in louder tone lol) blah blah.." I kept my cool thinking they had my keys and said that "Sir, sorry for all the trouble, we just wanted our keys back, thank you very much for your time!" Thinking back then, unbelievable, talking about service..xxx, well, I regretted so much that this experience didn't flag my consumer warning alarm, and I went back 7 years later...lol. Yeah I screwed up lol Back to now. I took the Honda van home at 2pm that day. Found out there is grease and oil on my garage floor. Raised the car with my jack and found out that the bottom of the car is soaked in a mess of oil and grease. CV axle, power steering rack, drip pan, etc all were leaking. I understand I bought the car AS-IS and no warranty. Lemon law only protects new car purchase. Went online to look for the ad again on their website at 4:30pm, and it was already taken off. Now I understand why they wanted me to sign the ad and CarFax. Well, technically they didn't commit Misrepresentation (False Advertisement) because they don't have to fully disclosure the condition of the car besides features. Nice move! Honda City In addition, the car was never advertised with the word 'Certified' by this Honda dealership, Now i see why they never used this word for all of their pre-owned/used cars advertised on their website. From CarFax they provided, 03/21/2015 Honda City Chicago Pre-delivery inspection completed Maintenance inspection completed Four tires mounted and balanced Oil and filter changed Washer nozzle(s) adjusted/repaired 04/30/2015 Honda City Chicago Vehicle serviced The word 'inspection' above is obviously not associated with usual Honda Multi-Inspection advertised on their Service Center of this dealer on their website because if it does, any Honda technicians with eyes can tell the car is leaking massively, plus they had to lift up the car to do an oil change, well I guess the inspection was not done by any of their quoted "knowledgeable car service technicians." or the oil change has been never done because of the last oil change sticker on windshield was long past due. Nice move! Honda City If you happen to be as stupid as I was to step in Honda City Chicago, never deal with Andy Chen from Tsingtao city China. Not only is he rude and look down on his customers in his verbal and altitude, but also he lied in any way he can about the car to just make a deal! For those non-chinese speakers, I am Chinese so that I can approve this for you because I actually bought this from him lol In case you want to look him up in facebook, here it is: facebook.com/profile.php… Well life is all about learning from your mistakes. Lesson well learned. Honda City Chicago taught me a good lesson that I should invest in the following: -my car knowledge -bringing a good flashlight upon my next used car purchase -never deal with rude salesmen with altitude -new and used car consumers' rights -most importantly, STAY AWAY FROM HONDA CITY CHICAGO ONCE FOR ALL! P.S. They initially lied to customers that they have to buy those third-party 'interior protection warranty' $895 on top of sales price which was not advertised on the ad and supposed to be optional. The accountant would never take the time to at least explain to you what you are signing on paper so do your homework first if you are ready to step in this place! So for people with not very good English, again do your homework first! Or all sum up to be one word...AVOID! More

Simply put, the best car buying experience I've been car shopping for quite some time now; however, nothing seemed to suit me well. I came here because of the online reviews, and I'm glad I did I've been car shopping for quite some time now; however, nothing seemed to suit me well. I came here because of the online reviews, and I'm glad I did my research. Best customer service I have ever seen at a dealership. Jessica explained everything very thoroughly, super friendly, and never did I feel pressured to make a decision. She even helped negotiate the price to somewhere I felt comfortable at! Definitely recommend her if you're going in! More

The staff was I went to the dealership by myself with a small amount of cash looking for a used Civic to get me through my next three years of school. The staff was very nice and showed me lots of great cars. They all rode super smooth and very clean. However, eventually and to my own surprise, I ended up getting a brand new black Honda Civic EX. I love my car! I never new that a new car could be so affordable. I used half of my cash as a down payment and other half will cover my next 5 months of car payments and insurance. My sales person's name was Ricardo Gallarzo. He was super patient, helpful and funny. Also, the general manager J.C. came and Pat (rom finance) were great too. I am definitely buying my next car from them. More
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST Out of all the dealerships that I have contacted, Honda City Chicago is the only rude dealership I've come across. Specifically Travis Crull. As someo Out of all the dealerships that I have contacted, Honda City Chicago is the only rude dealership I've come across. Specifically Travis Crull. As someone bearing the title "Manager", getting a rude response from him was really unexpected and very very disappointing. Customers always shop around and try to find good deals from several dealers. Apparently Travis with his "Manager" title doesn't understand this. This is how it went down: I asked if he could further lower the price and he said that he was not authorized to do so, only to get back to me a few days later, after I had told him that I would proceed with a different dealer, saying that he now could lower the price. I was still willing to give Honda City Chicago a chance and asked Travis to provide me with his new offer. And his response was this: "Why? So you can try to use it against me to get a lower price that you will try to get someone to honor? I have a lower price then what you are being quoted and what is being advertised through other sites. You don't want to do business with me, you just want the cheapest price you can find. However, I want to provide you with excellent service, a great deal and establish a business relationship, when you are ready for this you can feel free to reach out to me." WHAT? Of course customers want to shop around for the best price. Such a rude email really shows the level of unprofessionalism that Honda City Chicago has. Please learn your manners and don't claim that you are providing excellent service when you are NOT doing it. No wonder you are rated 1.5 out of 5 starts on Yelp. And this is based on 38 reviews! Stop posting fake good comments on this site. PLEASE AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COST. THERE ARE MANY OTHER DEALERS WHO REALLY ARE TRYING HARD TO PROVIDE EXCELLENT SERVICE AND WIN THE HEART OF THEIR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS. More
