Worst dealership I have ever worked with. If you purchase something from them be sure to add up all the costs before you sign you final paperwork., They tell you that the Honda advantage is somethi purchase something from them be sure to add up all the costs before you sign you final paperwork., They tell you that the Honda advantage is something you have to purchase and tell you a what it will cost. Well when you get to finance they put it on 3 different line items and charge you more than you agreed on. My fault for not adding up each line item before I signed, but once I got home and started checking, they actually charged me more. I have been trying for 3 weeks to get a refund and no luck. First they won't call you back, and then when they do you get the run around. They lie, they cheat and their customer service sucks. I had to give them 1 star otherwise I would have given them a negative star rating Really wish I would have looked up all their ratings online and with the BBB which they have a horrible rating with also More
This has to be the worst dealership I have ever dealt with, their pricing practice is horrible. The car I went in to purchase went from 24K to over 30K by the time they added the mandatory HCH and various warranties. They pretend to go in the back and take items off but when you look at the bottom line they are still there. I wish I had got up and walked away from the table. I will never purchase from them again and I would never recommend them to anyone. They also will not call you back so good luck with that! More
Very disappointed in the follow through of this dealership! On June 8th, 2021, my daughter was promised 3 things: a second key/alarm fob, a car wash, and a cargo cover. The 2nd key and car wash wer dealership! On June 8th, 2021, my daughter was promised 3 things: a second key/alarm fob, a car wash, and a cargo cover. The 2nd key and car wash were finally given to her on July 26th because we went in and complained. We still have not received the cargo cover! Over the past month and a half, she called Eric, her salesman many times, but he has never called her back. She also called and spoke to Diego Sanz, the sales manager, who also failed to deliver on what she was promised until I went in and raised my voice. I complained on their website, explaining same as above and also never received a call back! At the same time we were there, another customer was there complaining because they never got their second key either! If I were you, I'd shop somewhere else, because you will not get what you're promised unless you are extremely persistent! I will never buy from them again! More
Incompetent management prevents a double sale!I had a Incompetent management prevents a double sale! I had a bit of interest in trading my wonderful ’17 Ridgeline RTL-E for a similar ’21 model. I saw on Incompetent management prevents a double sale! I had a bit of interest in trading my wonderful ’17 Ridgeline RTL-E for a similar ’21 model. I saw one with the colors I liked on Hill Country Honda’s website (San Antonio, TX) and gave them a call. I spoke with a wonderful young lady who took several minutes to confirm with sales management that the vehicle was “real” and had arrived on-site. I told her I would come down after lunch and asked her to give me a call if the vehicle sold before I got there. On arrival, she met me and then sent me on to another salesman to look at the truck. The salesman went to get the keys and was gone for quite some time. When he returned, he told me that it looked like the truck was from a dealer trade and that it hadn’t arrived. I explained that I had been told that it was confirmed to be on-site and sent him back to re-check. A few minutes later he came back with the Sales Manager in-tow. At first the manager wasn’t sure what vehicle we were discussing and then told me rather nonchalantly that the car was supposed to be from a dealer trade, but it never showed up. Yep, folks. This vehicle had been on their website for at least a couple of days. It hadn’t been sold, it was never theirs to sell in the first place! They advertised it, but never had it and never would. They told me that it was in stock, but it wasn’t. I traveled more than an hour (each way) for absolutely no reason. The manager was very matter of fact that they didn’t have the vehicle. He never seemed the least apologetic and never admitted their mistake. It seemed that it was my fault for wanting a vehicle that they advertised, but never had. He did, of course, suggest that they had other vehicles that I might like…. Had he sincerely apologized, maybe even offered me a Honda hat or a tank of gas for my 2 hours of driving, I wouldn’t be happy, but I might have understood. Evidently customers are an expendable commodity at this dealership. Had it gone well, they could have sold me the new truck and had a ’17 in great condition to flip and sell. At best these people are incompetent in managing the few cars that they have in their inventory. At worst, they knew that they didn’t have the truck and were baiting me to get me into the dealership so they could switch me to another vehicle. In any case I won’t ever be back and suggest that others use caution in any dealings with them. My apologies to anyone who may have been withing earshot, when their sales prevention team told me that they didn’t have the truck. More
I found the Hill Country Honda people to be liars, but not until after I had completed the purchase in late March 2021 of a used Odyssey van, so potential customers should be wary of anything they say or not until after I had completed the purchase in late March 2021 of a used Odyssey van, so potential customers should be wary of anything they say or promise. I didn’t try to talk the salesman down off the listed price since it seemed fair, but he tried to add in charges for some tracking device and other items that I refused to pay. He turned that around to act like he had come down on the price. The salesman said the car came with a free 3,000 mile/3 month warranty and I was provided paperwork for that. However, the finance guy also required me to sign a form that said the van was sold “as is” and had no warranty. When I pointed out that they were giving me a warranty, they said the company lawyer required the “as is” language to be in the sales documents, and that I should not worry about it, but that the sale would not occur if we blacked it out as I suggested. When I asked to talk to his supervisor about it, he and the salesmen and other staffers listening to my argument claimed not to understand the contradiction I was complaining about. They offered to drop the warranty if that would make me happy. I took the warranty and left wondering if they were corrupt or just stupid. Before I had made it 1,300 miles the air conditioner went from cold to warm and I called the salesman from my Florida road trip to ask how to initiate the warranty procedure so I didn’t make a misstep. He claimed that the warranty did not include air conditioning problems even though it specifically listed climate conditioning equipment as covered. I had already texted him the pertinent portion of the warranty, and encouraged him to look at the original documents. He wasn’t interested. When I demanded to speak to his supervisor, the person he put on the phone claimed that I had not received a warranty from them, citing the “as is” language in the sales document that I had complained about at the time of sale. He claimed that if I had a warranty – since I told him I was looking at the warranty document as we spoke – he said that I had paid for it. I told him he was wrong and that they were a bunch of shiftless morons. I called the warranty company directly and they acknowledged I had a warranty. I took the van to a reputable dealer in Florida who recharged the air conditioning system with refrigerant and dye to they could locate the problem when it leaked again. I had to pay $268 for that. They could not find the leak even though I brought it back two times after driving it long distances to give it a workout. (The Tampa dealership also found the timing belt tensioner was leaking oil and repaired that under the warranty, with me paying the $100 deductible.) The warranty company said that even though I couldn’t get the air conditioner to leak/fixed within the 3,000-mile warranty limit, that since I had documented the problem within the limit they would cover it if it went out again. They recommended that I take it back to the dealership where I bought it, but I am not inclined to do so since they seem to be incompetent, liars or pinheads. After my shouting matches by phone with the salesman and the supervisor about the warranty went nowhere, another Hill Country Honda salesman called me to ask how happy I was with my knew Odyssey. I explained to him what was going on and he said I shouldn’t have been treated that way and that he would have the dealership manager call me. That was five days ago and I have not heard a word from them since. They make a lot of noise about how happy they are to have you join “the Hill Country Honda family,“ but my experience indicates that once they have your money, they don’t care what happens to do. Steer clear of these losers if you want peace of mind. More
