Currently standing in Hill Country Honda, after reviewing finance paper work when speaking to my lender, and then reviewing the contract with another large dealership, I was mislead to believe that an additi finance paper work when speaking to my lender, and then reviewing the contract with another large dealership, I was mislead to believe that an additional $5K of add ons was just part of the extended warranty (in addition to the 4K warranty of which I requested) I was so excited about the interest rate I guess I thought they were doing me a solid. Until I realized I had $5K of add ons when I had already stressed the payment I was looking to be at from the get go. But I said “you know. You helped me with the interest, why should I believe they’d mislead me?” Fast forward less than 30 days after purchasing, and I’m standing here while multiple people stand behind ONE computer to watch a video of the finance office. Of which I was NOT told or was permission given to be recorded…. There are now multiple sales team members and managers watching. I requested to watch the video for my viewing, and was ignored. Which of course legally I have a right to, given that it is MY information and myself in the video. I am still standing here watching multiple people basically scoff at me. (One manager, Cody Day, scoffed and didn’t even give my concern a second thought). After standing there, Kevin Tran (sales manager) came to me and escorted me to another office where at that point he was going to present the video. He explained that as he watched the video, I did in fact agree to the “add ons”. He stated “you even seemed extremely excited”. I explained “yes. I was excited thinking wow the interest rate is pretty great for a used vehicle. Plus a warranty. Had I KNOW that 5K of that was “add on” and NOT required, I wouldn’t have agreed. So I was completely mislead. And if they chose to publish the video, anyone with any common sense or just moral standards, would say “hey. Give her what’s most important, the bumper to bumper. Don’t add an extra 5K when the customer has made it clear they were already stressed about the payment.” I also requested a copy of the video because well, I’m in it, and was told no. When I said “y’all should make sure people are aware you’re recording, Kevin Tran (MANAGER) rudely turns to a small paper sign BEHIND him saying “we have it posted”. So although I signed, it was with the understanding that I didn’t have any other options in regard to the warranty. In NO way would I do business here! List price $27K, $11K clear clean trade, and what should have been a simple $4K warranty, and somehow I walked out financing $28K!!!!! The reality is, I have now been to Cavendar West, and spoken to Ben Espinosa, and manager Corey MacDonald. Where I was given such clear and TRANSPARENT understanding of warranties, upgrades, what a dealer can do (IF they’re willing), I will be taking this vehicle there. Even though HILL COUNTRY HONDA has been extremely rude and dishonest. I gave them my business. Came in trying to make it right. And was denied that money back. When they very easily could. What’s 5K to a dealership like that? For consumer report? Do NOT do business here. Management appears to be cowardly hiding behind computers in the midst of conflict. If you have had good help here. You got lucky! More
