Horrible experience at this dealer purchased 3 VW vehicles from 2021-2023. Didn’t have any issues before. Obviously new staff now, they are only interested in wasting time, they forget details from o vehicles from 2021-2023. Didn’t have any issues before. Obviously new staff now, they are only interested in wasting time, they forget details from one conversation to the next. Just some old school scummy car dealer practices. They were not interested in getting a deal done, just wasting time. I took my business down the road, bought a car same day at a honest dealer. David, Jordan and a finance lady were the individuals I interacted with, just all over the place More

Avoid Heritage Volkswagen at All Costs! If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Heritage Volkswagen in Catonsville has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. 1 If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Heritage Volkswagen in Catonsville has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. 1) Battery Issue: A Week for Nothing After purchasing a car from CarMax (still under warranty), it developed a battery error. CarMax recommended we take it to Volkswagen, so we chose Heritage due to proximity. Big mistake! They kept the car for an entire week before even looking at it, only to tell us they replaced the battery. A week for something so basic? Ridiculous! 2) Remote Start Installation: A Comedy of Errors Thinking the battery ordeal was a fluke, we decided to have a remote start installed. They required a deposit upfront, which seemed odd but understandable. Once the parts arrived, we dropped off the car. Days went by without any updates. After a week of silence, we called to check in, only to hear, "Oh, we ordered the wrong parts." This happened not once but twice. Two separate times, they kept our car for days without realizing the parts were incorrect. Each time, we were left waiting for weeks with no resolution. 3) Finally Done... Or So We Thought Six months later, they finally got it together—or so we thought. We dropped off the car and were promised it would be done that day. Later, we got a call saying it was ready, but there was a "battery error" again. We reminded them this issue had already been resolved by them nine months earlier. Their response? “Oh, okay. We charged the battery; it’s fine now.” 4) The Grand Finale: Remote Start Fiasco When we picked up the car, we were told it came with just one remote. Fine—maybe that was on us for not clarifying. But then the service agent went to demonstrate the remote start, and... it didn’t work. After multiple failed attempts, they called the mechanic supervisor, who couldn’t get it to work either. His response? “It’s not our fault; it might be the battery.” Seriously?! The same battery they supposedly replaced and "checked" multiple times? 5) Unprofessional, Incompetent, and a Waste of Time This dealership is a shining example of disorganization, lack of accountability, and unprofessionalism. They’ll happily take your money upfront but fail to deliver even basic service. If you value your time, money, or sanity, avoid Heritage Volkswagen at all costs. They have some of the worst reviews I have seen!!! More

I contacted Rhonda through this website to address my finance concern with my purchase at Heritage VW. Rhonda did not make any attempt to contact me. The previous finance manager lied to me about a servi finance concern with my purchase at Heritage VW. Rhonda did not make any attempt to contact me. The previous finance manager lied to me about a service agreement during the sale, and I had to cancel this contract the next day. He never contacted Wells Fargo to adjust the loan. Also, Heritage VW held my keys against my will until I purchased the vehicle. I would not recommend Heritage, they just had the exact car that I wanted. More
In all of my years shopping for a vehicle never ever have I felt SCAMMED, VIOLATED, and DISRESPECTED. This VW finance department lacks honesty, transparency, integrity and communication. I was shopping for a I felt SCAMMED, VIOLATED, and DISRESPECTED. This VW finance department lacks honesty, transparency, integrity and communication. I was shopping for a VW Cross Sport. I traveled over 100 miles away from New Jersey to this Maryland location because I thought this vehicle had a better price point. I came prepared with the check from my credit union so once I test drove the vehicle and numbers were within budget all I had to do was sign and drive. I purposely came prepared because I didn’t want to be hassled or pressured by the finance managers. After test driving the vehicle I realized I didn’t want this trim. The trim that I initially came for was out of my budget. Deyiah the finance manager came and introduced herself. She asked how could she assist with getting me in the car that I really wanted. I told her the car I really want is not in my budget. She stated several times she could get a better rate than my credit union. I told her No thank you. I told her and the other individuals at the front desk that there was no way their lenders could beat my credit union’s rate and terms. I was very adamant about not running my credit because the VW dealership I was at two months prior ran my credit. After that previous dealership ran my credit I instantly received 6 notifications from Experian Credit Bureau stating my credit score has decreased because 6 banks pulled my credit report. After that horrible experience I informed Deyiah that was the reasoning for not taking her advice to search for a better rate. So l left and went home. I never thought about the Cross Sport again once I left. I was proud of myself for remaining stern and being patient until I found exactly what I wanted under my terms and budget. The next morning I received a call from Charis my salesman. He asked if I was satisfied with my overall visit and what could he have done better. I told him he was great. He asked if there was anything he could do to assist with getting me in the vehicle I wanted. I told the vehicle I really wanted is out of my budget. He stated it’s still available if I change my mind. I started doing some research on my end and thought if I trade in our vehicle that would afford me the vehicle that I want. So I sent the message to Charis stating I’d consider trading in our vehicle to get the exact cross sport I wanted. Then I remembered how dealerships low ball the trade in value on vehicles. I contacted the finance manager Deyiah. I asked her based upon my credit history that I shared with her during our conversation Thursday if she was truly confident she could get me a better rate as she and her colleagues stated several times than my credit union. Deyiah replied yes. She informed me that she may have to try 3 banks. I said that is ok. An hour went by and all of a sudden I have 5 alerts from Experian stating my credit score has decreased because 5 banks pulled my credit report. I immediately started calling Deyiah but no one at the dealership answered. 3 and half hours go by and there aren’t any updates or communication let alone my permission to submit an application to more than 3 banks. I messaged Charis and asked if he could call me. I asked him if I there were any updates. I then asked if Deyiah was available. He said not at the moment. I asked him if he knew why my credit was pulled so many times without my permission and why hasn’t anyone updated me. He explained they’ve been very busy however, he would relay the message to Deyiah and she’d call me back once she became available. She never called me back that evening so I contacted her Saturday morning. I asked why would she send my application to more than 3 banks considering what I explained to her about my last experience. And why didn’t she get my permission before hand. I informed her of my frustration their lack of transparency and communication. All she could do was apologize. To be continued. Part 2 next. More

However, it took over My son's Jetta had a small ding in the hood at time of sale, and both Josh and Gabe assured us they would address it promptly. However, it took over three months to resolve the issue, with no proactive follow-up from either of them. They only responded when I reached out, and eventually connected us with the third-party repair technician. After two no-shows, I expressed my frustration, but received no response. Although this wasn't my first purchase from Heritage, it will likely be my last. A simple follow-up to honor their promises would have made a significant difference, especially given the poor service from their provider. The problem is finally fixed, working directly with the service provider, and still no communication from Gabe or Josh. Extremely poor customer service that is both surprising and disappointing. I am in the process of sending in complaint to VW Customer Care. More
