Leo Rezil is friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. While these are characteristics that buyers expect from sales people, Mr. Rezil went beyond what I had expected in terms of service. Fortunately, Mr While these are characteristics that buyers expect from sales people, Mr. Rezil went beyond what I had expected in terms of service. Fortunately, Mr. Rezil offered to go through the car I was trading in after I had cleared out my belongings since he found several items that I had missed including my Fast Lane transponder. By the time I finished meeting with the business manager, Mr. Rezil had already transferred my things that had been sitting in his office into the new (used) car which I appreciated very much. In addition, when I brought back the car to be inspected and simonized, Mr. Rezil offered to drive it back to my home so that I would not have to wait for the two hours it would take to get the work completed. Mr. Rezil's thoughtfulness helped to make the car purchase process much easier. More
I came to this dealership after a being told by another Honda dealer that I could not get the car I wanted (CR-V) at the price I wanted. The manager at this other dealership sat down and "gave me a lesson Honda dealer that I could not get the car I wanted (CR-V) at the price I wanted. The manager at this other dealership sat down and "gave me a lesson" about car financing. I went to Herb Chambers after seeing an ad in the paper, and told Chris what I was looking for, my budget, and what happened at the prior dealer. He told me he'd look into what could be done, and called the next day offering an appointment. Chris had Alex ready to meet with me when I walked in the door. Alex and I did have a bit of a rocky start, but after Billy V. stepped in and saved the deal (more on this later), Alex was fabulous. (Thank you for not letting me give up on getting the 4 WD!) I was anxious to take delivery of the car without the auto start being installed. Alex called to make sure the company doing the work contacted me, called again to check that the appointment got made, and called again to make sure the work was done. He also called twice in the first two weeks to make sure all was good with the car! Back to Billy V. Wonderful, amazing, and real are not words typically associated with car salesmen, but he was all of the above. He didn't just sit and listen politely and then try to make the sale HE wanted to make. He heard me, what I wanted, where I was coming from, what I could live with compromising on and what I couldn't. Then he went to work! He came up with a few different financing options on different trims. The whole time it really felt like he wanted me to end up with the car that was right for me -- not for him, the customer at the next desk, his boss or whomever. It made such a difference. I'm not sure the deal I ended up with was all that much better than what I was first offered elsewhere; but I will absolutely go back to Herb Chambers when I need my next car. Nothing beats being treated like you matter! More

Low and behold, they did not even match the quoted price. The sales manager simply told me the quote was unrealistic and they could not match it. It was a waste of my time. I came into the dealership with a fairly mistrustful feeling toward large car dealerships but needed to lease a car and knew almost exactly what I wanted. I worked with Mike Boucher and was extremely p feeling toward large car dealerships but needed to lease a car and knew almost exactly what I wanted. I worked with Mike Boucher and was extremely please with the whole experience. I was very pleased to see that Mike actually listened to what I had to say and responded appropriately. For example, I came in with the intent to lease (not buy) a car and knew essentially the model I was looking for. He did not try to redirect my attention or up-sell me to something I didn't need or want. I also asked him to take some of the sales process out of the usual order (I asked to do the credit check first and to skip the test drive) and he was happy to adapt and acommodate. When I did have questions, Mike was very knowledgeable and kept the process moving without having to go ask others for answers. I had more limited, but equally impressive, interaction with Bill Vitoratos, the general sales manager. He was friendly and acommodating and I could tell that he was genuinely interested in making sure that my experience there was a good one. I left the dealership having accomplished what I set out to accomplish and feeling that I was treated fairly and respectfully. More
First time car buyer. On a Saturday I emailed Herb Chambers about a used car that I saw on their website to confirm that it was still available. They said it was, so I came in a few hours later (no ap Chambers about a used car that I saw on their website to confirm that it was still available. They said it was, so I came in a few hours later (no appointment) to take a look. Unfortunately, the car had been sold! Bummer, but I should've scheduled an appointment. Leo was happy to show me some other cars that might meet my needs. Leo Rezil was professional, patient, and thorough for every step of in the process. I can't say enough about this guy--I'd gladly work with him in the future to buy just about anything. He looked hard to match a car with my needs. We took a car for a test drive and started to negotiate the price, which was well above what I had seen other dealerships offering. Another salesperson, Chris, came by and we discussed price for quite some time. Chris came back from speaking with his manager and refused to budge on the price. After a few rounds of this, he came back with the great news that the car I was originally interested in hadn't been sold--the financing fell through! (a few people have said that this sounded like a typical "bait-and-switch", but who cares? Financing does fall through, and I was happy to give the car a test drive.) The car was fine, but I felt some issues with the rotors and put a deposit down on the car so I could take it to my mechanic to approve on Monday. That Monday, Leo kindly brought the car to my mechanic and patiently waited for the car to be reviewed. My mechanic came back with a list of issues--some minor (an old battery, some rust on the driver's door), some a bit more serious (issues with the front brakes/rotors, severe sidewall cracks on 3 of the 4 tires). Back at the dealership, I said that I couldn't go forward with the purchase until these issues were corrected. The certified used manager came by and abruptly told me that he would not put any more money into the car. He told me that the front brakes/rotors were fine (had he driven the car?). He noted that the tread on the tires was great (very true!) and that sidewalls were not cracked (a blatant lie!). He was quite dismissive and a bit rude. Blatantly lying about the cracks (which anybody could see) gave me an uneasy feeling about the whole dealership--what else were they hiding? My level of trust in the dealership just dropped. I asked about switching the tires with those on another car. No, that wasn't possible. So I asked Leo if I could get my deposit back, which he patiently said he could do (a fine salesman throughout!). Another salesperson intervened and said that they could switch the tires with those on another car, but upon inspection, the tires were even worse (more cracks, less tread). He then suggested another car with tires that weren't all that great, but at least they weren't cracked. I accepted to have them switched for a $90 fee (yippee!). In all the hustle and bustle of trying to get the tire issue resolved, I had completely forgotten to pursue the problems about the brakes/rotors and the rust spot. Leo took care of all of the paperwork and called me at every step to let me know how things were going. He had the car to me the very next day, clean and sporting the different tires. He even called just after Thanksgiving to make sure that everything was still going well with the car. Excellent customer service from him! However, he seemed powerless when it came to fixing the issues that my mechanic pointed out--clearly an issue with the certified used dealer that I had the displeasure of speaking with. All-in-all, I'd gladly work with Leo (and a few of the other friendly salespeople) at another dealership! More
I've been working with other dealerships in the Boston area for many years, changing cars every couple of years or so. Recently I moved into the neighborhood of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston and decided area for many years, changing cars every couple of years or so. Recently I moved into the neighborhood of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston and decided to visit them and what they offer this time of the year. I had no need for a new car - I like my low mileage Accord EX-L. I thought if I drive the right car and I'm in a great leasing contract, browsing dealerships can't be that exciting - I was wrong - these guys from Herb Chambers (Jonathon and James)engaged me in a way that ended up with another leasing contract. Give them a visit! No sales pressure, best prices and very good service - that last one I've never gotten before at that level! With them you can forget the old concept of leaving a dealership frustrated with no deal or somewhat disappointed by being tricked one way or another. I think Herb Chambers Honda of Boston is just better than the rest and they work hard for it. I compare them to other two Honda dealerships in Boston and I also have friends that worked for them before. I would just wonder how their service department could now match the performance of the sales team. It appears nobody out there can go as far as they go in bringing a good deal to the table. They also must be consistent in this because most of my friends that like cars have been working with them for years. Go check them out. Ask for James Aiello and work the deal with Jonathon Dias. Please let me begin by stating that this is my 3rd new car purchase in 5 years from Herb Chambers-Boston. From my initial exposure to the dealership in October 2005 and Mike"The Manager" Mascovitz, I ha car purchase in 5 years from Herb Chambers-Boston. From my initial exposure to the dealership in October 2005 and Mike"The Manager" Mascovitz, I have been impressed with the quality of customer service that has been exhibited. My initial telephone response on my 11/13/10 purchase of a 2011 CRV was with Mr. Paul Wisdom. Paul was very responsive to my telephone offer and timley in his response. Upon my arrival he extended a warm greeting and introduced me to new sales associate, Mr. Leo Rezil. Leo accompanied my wife and myself to the dockside car lot to look at colors of CRV's.Leo was very respectful, and quite accomodating throughout the whole buying process. When price became an issue,Mr. Bill Vitoratos interceded and certainly recognized that my loyalty to Herb Chambers was not to go unnoticed. Mr. Jim Kristoff was also supportive in the process. Lastly, Mr. Lascelles McKenzie completed the paper work in a orderly and professional manner. Suffice is to say that I value the service I receive at Herb Chambers and would not hesitate to recommend the dealership without reservation. Congratulations, Mr. Chambers on achieving an 8th place finish in the Boston Globe's contest for the large employer "Best Place to Work" out of 1000 participants.Your hard work and dedication to the highest level of customer service, and ability to transfer that service level to your staff, has been certainly recognized in credible circles for the second year running! I bought my first new car (Honda CR-V 2011) last week at Herb Chambers Honda. My Sales Consultant was Eli Hanna. Eli was incredibly helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He spent over 5 hours with m Herb Chambers Honda. My Sales Consultant was Eli Hanna. Eli was incredibly helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He spent over 5 hours with me on my first visit answering all my many questions. He didn't rush me or pressure me to make a decision. I did not want to finalize the paper work that day (Wednesday) and asked to come to following day (Thursday) to sign the paper work and receive my car. Even though that Thursday was Eli's day off, he came in to make sure that all goes well. Again, he spent hours with me to explain car-related issues and also to accompany me on my first drive. Eli followed up with me on Friday to make sure everything was going well with the car. Eli went above and beyond call of duty to accommodate my needs. I really couldn't have made this purchase without Eli's help who was an excellent consultant. I would highly recommend him. I couldn't have asked for a better customer service. I also got to work with Bob who was also very helpful, friendly and kind. In summary, my experience with Eli and Bob at Herb Chambers Honda (Allston) was excellent! More
