I was looking for a car, specifically the Honda Odyssey Turing, during Memorial Day weekend. I had been searching around and received a few quotes from different dealers. I presented an offer to buy the Od Turing, during Memorial Day weekend. I had been searching around and received a few quotes from different dealers. I presented an offer to buy the Odyssey to Herb Chambers Honda of Boston with the price and terms that I wanted, which was discussed over the phone. I spoke to a sales manager named Liz. She told me that they will be able to do better than the price quotes that I had. I told her to be 100% sure that she can deliver on what she had said, before I hold off on the other dealer's deal and to make the trip down to Boston the next day to Herb Chambers. I made explicitly clear again, to be 100% sure because I will also have to disrupt my family’s Memorial Day plans so I can come down to the store to buy the car and to potentially lose previous negotiation. She agreed and even called me back a little while later to confirm our appointment. The next morning someone from Herb Chambers called and confirmed my appointment again and that they had the car in stock. I was excited to buy the car I was looking for, at the price that I wanted, and to take advantage of the Memorial Day weekend’s 0.9% financing incentive from Honda. When I arrived at the store, Liz was not available to assist me so they ask another sale rep. I told the sales rep. upfront regarding the deal that I made with Liz, regardless; he still wasted my time by appraising my car for trade-in and went through the features of the Odyssey. Finally another sales manager, I think his name was Dan, came over to tell me that the deal that I made with Liz is no good and that the actually deal they can only offer me was $5,000 over what the price I negotiated with Liz on the phone. Obviously I did not buy the car from them. I was mainly upset that they wasted my time and the 0.9% finance rate is now expired. If these sales managers represent Herb Chambers Honda then Herb Chambers Honda practices unethical “bait and switch” sales tactic to entice customers into the store with no intention to sell its product at or near pre-determined deals discussed. Within an hour, I was put into contact with Keith Banks-Obanor (a 12 year veteran of Herb Chambers Honda) who was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helped me to understand all of my options. I never once felt like I wasn't getting a fair deal. Within 4-5 hours, I was able to get all of the paperwork settled, the trade-in towed to the dealership, a ride to and from my house to pick up the title, AND leave the lot with my new 2011 Cr-V EX. In my mind, this transaction went as quickly as possible, which is exactly what I wanted! More

I've bought one car from Herb Chambers back in 2008 and have referred family to them and have never heard a bad thing about them. A friend of mine bought from their Seekonk location back in 2001 and they have referred family to them and have never heard a bad thing about them. A friend of mine bought from their Seekonk location back in 2001 and they were great there as well. Having shopped Boch and Prime Honda dealerships I can say without a doubt that Herb Chambers is the best place to get a straight forward deal and interact with honest people. I hate buying cars as the dealerships always leave me with a bad taste in my mouth, but Herb Chambers makes it easy to swallow. I'm only sorry I don't have Jason the Sales Managers last name to give him credit for being so helpful with my recent visit. I didn't know this site existed or I would have commented sooner. More
Here is a wonderful ending to a long story: I leased an Odyssey from Herb Chambers three years ago and I have not been very happy with the way I've been treated since. My credit rating took a beating during the depression. So no one paid attention to me. No one returned phone calls. I was a lonely nobody. Then I met Paul Jackson and everything turned around. I have honestly never seen a man work so hard at making sure I got what I wanted with the terms I wanted. My credit had been excellent before the recent depression but the banks don't always recognize that fact (even though they are what caused most of the problem). Paul Jackson and the finance manager he worked with, Jason Bradley, hammered away at the various banks, suggesting arrangement after arrangement--or whatever it is they do--until together they made the sale work for me. All of this was concluded today. And the best part of it is, the deal is on my terms! Jason and Paul worked miracles. I can't believe it! Every snafu along the way got smoothed over because these two just refused to give up. I watched them work. It was intense. And these are days when, as we all know, it's hard to get a salesperson even to return your phone call unless your credit is what it was before the depression or you've got lots of cash. They believed in me. I feel good about myself again. This depression has taken its toll on my pride. I was in near constant contact with Paul via his cell phone for the two weeks while he worked on getting my car for me. I didn't even have to wait on hold and listen to noisy ads. That in itself impressed me. So I'm happy. As you can tell. More
I have always been leery of large car dealers but my experience at Herb Chamber Honda of Boston -- and in particular, salesman Mark DiPaolo II -- was exceptional. Everyone I worked with was very friendly and willing to answer any questions I had. When I became concerned about the expense I was about to take on, they immediately began working with me so that I would answer any questions I had. Jason did a good job of explaining the optional coverages to me and making sure I ordered what was best for me. The most impressive part of my experience, however, came from 2 gentlemen, Eric Wong and Paul Jackson. These 2 guys had to drive to Rhode Island to register my car. They had never been to Rhode Island to do this and were completely raw but at no point did they want to give up until they had the car registered and ready to deliver to me. Paul was stuck inside the DMV for about 3 hours. And I can tell you from experience, the DMV is not the most fun place to spend your afternoon. While Paul was in the building, likely suffering on the inside but with a smile on the outside, Eric Wong was left outside with someone whom he had never met before, me. Eric was very friendly and conversed with me and my brother while we waited for Paul, he showed me parts of the Ridgeline so that I would be familiar with it. I'm sure it was difficult situation for the 2 of them having to be in state that they were not familiar with registering procedure all the while wanting to make sure that the customer they were helping (not their customer, by the way) was happy and would not be upset over having to wait outside teh DMV for 3 hours. When everything was finally done and the car was registered, they even paid for my supper at local hot weiner place in Providence! These 2 gentlemen should be commended for their commitment to their work and to the customer. It was clear to me that customer satisfaction was their top priority in what was otherwise a difficult situation for both of them and they performed exceptionally! This is the type of customer service that separates Herb Chambers from the comptetion. Kudos to you and your staff! More

I am grateful that she took to heart my set of car purchase needs enabling me to own a car that is a pleasure to drive with nice luxuries. Truth be told, people still can't believe I bought a used car and that my car payment is so reasonable. Herb Chamber's Honda has a nice atmosphere with a staff that is pleasant. More
