I was in the market for a new Odyssey and I had requested a quote from them on the Internet. I was told that they beat any competitive offer from other dealers. After quoting me a certain price online, I was asked to come in and they would even work out a better deal if I came in person. I drove for over 50 minutes to get to them with a newborn, only to find out that they would not honor their promises, nor would they match their competitors prices. When I inquired about their best price guarantee that they advertise about, I was told that they won't honor it! I showed them written offers by two of the other Honda dealers in the area, but the guy I worked with was not willing to live up to his promises. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Don't waste your time with them! More

Last night, the friday evening before Labor Day weekend, our Odyssey began making a high pitched metallic squeal from underneath. We were desperate to get it diagnosed and fixed so we could continue getting our kids into their housing, and return to Virginia before the weekend was over. We arrived, unannounced, at the Herb Chamabers Honda service area at 8 AM this morning (Saturday) and were greeted pleasantly by Majid who very helpfully assured us that we would be seen quickly. He immediately got us to the service desk and we were put into the friendly and able hands of Paul Jackson who promised to try to get us a diagnostic update by 9:30. Sure enough, before 9:30 he called us with a diagnosis (brakes) and the car by noon. I am writing this back at our hotel as we wait for Mr. Jackson's call (it is now 10:00 AM). While the job is not yet completed, I'm writing this now because we have been so impressed with Majid, who's friendliness and helpfulness calmed our frazzled nerves, and especially with Mr. Jackson who's enthusiasm, friendliness, and competence were remarkable. They and the remainder of the staff that we dealt with gave us a sense that we were dealing with neighbors who were lending a helping hand, even though we were hundreds of miles from home. More
Found myself needing a car and decided on a used Honda Accord. Overall, a lackluster experience at best. Every time I was told "give me 5 minutes, be right back", it turned into 20-30 minutes with nobod Accord. Overall, a lackluster experience at best. Every time I was told "give me 5 minutes, be right back", it turned into 20-30 minutes with nobody in sight (except a receptionist who was much more interested in her social conversation). Whole transaction took 3+ hours. Sales guy had no personality or warmth...just went through the motions. Finance guy threw a hissy fit with sales guy right in front of me (real professional), and in general, was brash and obnoxious as most are. I have to believe you can visit another (perhaps smaller) dealership and have a much better experience. BTW - the whole Herb Chambers "smart price" thing -- don't fall for it. You can do lots better negotiating. More
I went in to for service after purchasing new tires from a tire service center. This other service center failed to properly balance the wheels after 5 visits. Honda got me in the day I called (a Friday a a tire service center. This other service center failed to properly balance the wheels after 5 visits. Honda got me in the day I called (a Friday afternoon in July!), and Paul got the car in right away after hearing my very long crazy story of how, 2 weeks after I ran over a nail, I still could not get a smooth ride in my car. Not only are my wheels properly balanced now; but they cleaned the car; and Paul gave me a tire tread meter, so I won't get ripped off again if I need to get new tires somewhere. Of course, at this point, I think if I need new tires, I'll be calling Paul for an appointment. Especially after reading their rates on new tire costs -- I didn't save anything by going to one of those big tire places. Live and learn! More
Dear Mr. Chambers, Last Monday I bought a pre-owned Dear Mr. Chambers, Last Monday I bought a pre-owned V6 Honda Accord LX-P 2009 with about 18K miles from Herb Chambers Honda in Boston and I am wri Dear Mr. Chambers, Last Monday I bought a pre-owned V6 Honda Accord LX-P 2009 with about 18K miles from Herb Chambers Honda in Boston and I am writing to tell you about my great experience. Scott Sundlie was my first point of contact about two months prior to my purchase. I had questions about financing and he answered all my questions and put me at ease. A few days later I sat down with Ronoir Wint and discussed my needs to my satisfaction asked him to contact me in about six weeks, around July 10, which he did. Now ready to buy, Ronoir help me diligently and I choose a 2010 Honda Accord LX-P 2.4L with Navigation. I sat down with Ron Avelar who thoroughly explained my financing options which were limited due to my short credit history. I was eventually approved through Chase at a very high interest rate, but at the time this my only option even though I was putting down $6,000. All was set until the next day I asked to test drive a pre-owned Accord V6 and liked it so much I decided to swap cars. The only down side was the lack of a factory installed GPS and the color was not my first choice. Last Monday I received a call to come in to discuss a new possible financing arrangement. I sat down with Jason Bradley who startled me with a financing offer from Honda Finance at 7.9% tied to a seven year bumper to bumper pre-certification and 100 mile power train warranty. He showed me that my monthly payments were going to be lower even though I was paying additional money for the new extended warranties. It all made sense to me, so I accepted and that afternoon drove away with my new pre-owned car. But I was not completely satisfied and so the following day I sat down with Scott and Ronoir again and I told them that I was not happy and wanted to swap cars for a silver V6 with navigation. Scott put me at ease and told me that I should not worry and that they would take care of making sure I was happy and satisfied and to come back the following day when the appropriate people were in. The next day I went to the dealer to make a decision on the matter not sure what the final outcome would be. I met with Ken Giordano, Jason and Ronoir and together we “rolled up our sleeves” and reviewed all options including exercising the money back guarantee, swapping for a 2009 silver Accord V6 with navigation at your Seekonk dealer or wait and see what trade-ins came through over the next 30 days. The meeting was stress free and cordial in which Ken and Jason took charge as professionally as can be expected and answered all my questions to my complete satisfaction. After reviewing all the numbers (and a with little bit of haggling), I settled on the all around best decision, forgoing the silver and adding a Rosen GPS to my gray V6 Honda Accord. Jason consulted with Honda financing on what we were doing and they approved. So Presto! I signed the new paper work, dropped off the car for the GPS installation and picked it up the next day. We worked out a solution that worked for everyone and I am very happy and very satisfied with my purchase. Kudos Mr. Chambers to you and your team at Honda. More

Just had the WORST Service experience in a long time 2 1/2 hours for an oil change at Herb Chambers Honda. i was not directed where to go when i arrived ( Juan - Valet ) the Receptionist ( Meredeth ) was 1/2 hours for an oil change at Herb Chambers Honda. i was not directed where to go when i arrived ( Juan - Valet ) the Receptionist ( Meredeth ) was not at her station and because of that i sat for an hour thinking my car was being serviced. when i asked about my car and realized it wasnt being serviced i then waited another 1 1/2 hours before i got my car and yes i ended up paying for it because im a fool and dont cause a scene...the Service Rep Paul was very apologetic but never followed up with me when he said he would tell me how long it would take... thank God my lease is up next year and i will have no need to ever go back to their service department..this will be a huge factor in my decision weather or not i lease another Honda. The Follow up from the Service Manager was exactly what a good company should do...Mistakes happen and that's exactly what they are mistakes..its how they are handeled that shows what kind of a company you are..I am Satisfied with the resolution and hope that my next service trip will show that this was just a one time thing. In trying to buy a car at Herb Chambers in Boston I was met with half truths, evasions, manipulation and disrespect. I was offered a good price on a 2012 Fit, by email. I then repeatedly asked to simply co met with half truths, evasions, manipulation and disrespect. I was offered a good price on a 2012 Fit, by email. I then repeatedly asked to simply come in to buy one. However, when I arrived at my appointment, they seemed to have a set agenda. They did not respect my wish to forgo a test drive, and claimed to be unable to tell me if the base model was available at any of their dealerships. The salesperson and sales manager seemed annoyed at my requests. They were rude and condescending at times. It was a most unpleasant experience, and a waste of my time. I was subsequently able but a Fit, for the same price, at another dealer, where everyone was helpful and respectful. More
I went in to buy a specific car that I had found online, the person I had an appointment with was no where to be found so I had to meet up with another sales rep. It took awhile to get the car ready and I the person I had an appointment with was no where to be found so I had to meet up with another sales rep. It took awhile to get the car ready and I was left waiting even though I had an appt and told them the car I was interested in. I test drove the car and liked it and was ready to make an offer. They insisted to appraise my car despite my desire to not use it as a trade in as I wanted to sell it on my own. They insisted they could get it to the price I was planning to sell it for. After waiting for a long time, they finally returned and offered me $500, nothing close to what I told them I wanted for it. I told them I was not interested in using it as a trade in, but was ready to talk numbers. I made my offer which they came back with nothing to counter, insisting their smart price is the lowest they can go. I told them I would not be paying full price, giving them research I had found about the average selling price in the area. They insisted they could give me a couple hundred more for my trade to make up for it. I again reiterated my offer and my desire to keep my car and sell it on my own,, giving me much more than what they intended to. They kept coming and going with the same offer despite my readiness to go. I wasted a couple hours just sitting there, by this time my sales rep left to go help other people, no longer interested. Finally, I got up and started leaving and they had the nerve to ask if I'd like to put down a deposit to hold the car in case I changed my mind. The car was 11,700 and I would have been liked to walk out at 11,000 but they wouldn't move an inch, not even a counter, if they would have at least worked a little with me, I would have felt better. I had a couple other dealerships to check out who had the same car. I went to one right after, they had the same car (same specs, mileage, amd condition) and had the exact same asking price. The were much more friendly and attentive, wanting to make sure I felt I was getting a good deal, I walked out with that car in no time with paying only 10,300. More
The atmosphere at Herb Chambers Boston is very customer friendly. From the moment I entered the showroom I was greeted warmly by Rachel Balbago and introduced to my sales person, Elie Hanna, who was just a friendly. From the moment I entered the showroom I was greeted warmly by Rachel Balbago and introduced to my sales person, Elie Hanna, who was just as welcoming. He was very patient, knowledgeable, and thorough in his duties, and went out of his way to accommodate every request. He worked very diligently with Jason Bradley and the finance team to move the numbers around to make my purchase happen. Everyone I met greeted me with a warm smile, I never felt any (sales) pressure, and I left with a feeling of trust and complete satisfaction with my new Honda Fit (which I absolutely LOVE!) and the entire buying experience. I was particularly impressed with the sales manager, Scott Sundlie, who masterfully eliminated a minor glitch in the process and whose helpfulness and genuine kindness were outstanding. This has been one of the best dealership encounters I've ever had...top notch customer service, phenomenal staff, great prices. I highly recommend the entire team and look forward to working with them in the future. More
