We had a 1st time service appointment (change oil and rotate tires) for our new 2026 GMC Terrain. Our appointment was for 10:45 am and we would be waiting. Before I say more, it is our nature to give rotate tires) for our new 2026 GMC Terrain. Our appointment was for 10:45 am and we would be waiting. Before I say more, it is our nature to give others a positive review even if it is just marginally justified. But in this case we cannot. We were early for our appointment by about -10 minutes. We checked in immediately and talked to service advisors and confirmed we would be waiting as we had other business to attend to. We then retired to the waiting area. By sheer luck we were sitting in plain view of our car parked in a space behind the building. The car was not touched for approximately 1-1/4 hours. Keep in mind our appointment was at 10:45 am and they knew we were waiting. Finally we had enough, my wife went to get some answers as to how much longer we must wait. Immediately I watched while a young man darted across the parking lot and quickly zipped our car away. Probably 15 minutes later we were told our car was ready. In our opinion this cannot be considered acceptable customer service. There has to be something drastic to happen for us to return. To top this off…when we got home I decided to take a look at the engine and underneath to make sure every thing looked ok. There was a single drop of oil on the concrete floor. I said ouch… I laid on the floor just where I could see where the oil may have come from. There was another drop on the bottom of the filter casing. Using my hand I checked to make sure the filter was at least hand-tight and it did not budge so must be tight. So as I looked at the filter I realized it was much smaller in phyiscal size than the the original (ACDelco PF64). By this time it’s too late to call the dealer so I began to see what I might learn on line about the size of the filter. After a couple of hours I discovered apparently GMC ACDelco has redisigned the filter for some unknown reason and the new installed filter is apparently also an ACDelco PF64 but approximately 1/2 the size of the original one installed at the factory. Since this car is new and this is the first oil change, you may be wondering how did I know anything about what the factory had installed. Simple…before we left home for our appointment I looked under the vehicle to see where the filter was located. My reason for doing this is in several of our previously owned vehicles (Chryslers) a splash plate/guard had to be removed to change the oil and filter and the oil change guys goofed it up every time. I was pleased to see this should not be a problem on our new GMC so I took a picture with my phone. Getting back to the drops of oil. I’m not sure if it is a leak or just a sloppy oil change. Maybe some spillage occurred while changing the oil and it was not cleaned up. Maybe. I’ll have to continue checking for a week or so. Well that’s our story…so what say you? More
Stopped in to look at several models. Told our salesperson Nate Reeves up front we were just looking. He said no problem then spent quality time showing us a few models. He was very knowl Told our salesperson Nate Reeves up front we were just looking. He said no problem then spent quality time showing us a few models. He was very knowledgeable about the inventory, each model and all the new technology on each vehicle. We had been to other dealerships looking as well but ended up buying a new GMC Acadia. Nate was a big part in that decision. After our decision was made Nate took all the time to introduce my wife to her new vehicle and every bell and whistle that was available until she was comfortable with every one of them. Also helped her set up her phone, On Star and her Google car play. If you want a no pressure experience and just the facts stop in and see Nate. Tell him Keith and Jan said hi. More
I always get great service from Hendrick GMC. Personnel are always polite and make a good effort to keep waiting to a minimum. The service department is the absolute worst that I can imagine. The counter guys are great. The problem is service management. My Yukon’s air-conditioning quit cooling and I took it to Hendrick a little o imagine. The counter guys are great. The problem is service management. My Yukon’s air-conditioning quit cooling and I took it to Hendrick a little over a year ago since I had moved to the area. It was still under warranty because I had owned it less than three years and it had only about 24,000 miles They checked it out and acknowledged that the cooling wasn’t working but they couldn’t find the problem. I asked what would happen when I would bring it back in after the warranty expired. The service advisor said that they would cover the repair since I had brought it in while under warranty. After tolerating the hot vehicle I bought it back in with 39,000 miles on it and 4 months out of warranty. They miraculously found the problem that they couldn’t find while it was under warranty. They came up with a price of over $5,000 to fix the problem I kept cool and told them about the previous promise to cover the repair. They said no. They didn’t have the backbone to call me a liar to my face. That’s a good thing for them I told them I would think about it. GMC came forward without my asking and offered to pay half of the estimate and said Hendrick would probably cover the rest. Wrong. When Hendrick refused to cover anything I asked the service manager what they were contributing He said that he was contributing “good will “. I had the repairs made today and paid over $2500. They had also found a problem with the idler pulley making noise and estimated the cost to repair that at almost $400. I took the Yukon to a honest repair shop to get it fixed but they said it should be covered under GMC’s power train warranty. When I took it to Hendrick for the air conditioner repair and asked about the pulley being covered they said “oh yeah”. I think they are used to cheating customers that are trusting and naive. I intend to trade for a new Yukon in the near future but Hendrick GMC won’t be anywhere that I will consider and I am cautioning everyone to look elsewhere for a new vehicle and especially for a service visit!! Hendrick GMC is a great place to get cheated. There are a lot of alternatives that are honest!! More
