Needless to say...I was not happy when I arrived at the service department. From the moment I drove up I was greeted with nothing but smiles. The receptionist put me in contact with the service manager, Richard Grein who after re-assuring me that my vehicle would be taken care of had me sit with his assistant, Andrea. She had the shop Forman come up and look at my vehicle outside to see if any trouble shooting could be performed. He said that more time would be needed to properly diagnose the problem. Of course by this time I was already late for work. I was then offered a loaner vehicle and was assured I would have a complete diagnostic by 2pm. At 1:30 Andrea called me and told me the repairs to my car was complete! I arrived to pick up my car shorty after and again...was greeted with nothing but smiles. A valet walked me into the lounge to warm up with some tea. It was truly an exceptional service experience and I will be returning. More

I brought my car in because the suspension in the front had dropped and because the engine light was on. I was told by the salesman (only appropriate to call him a salesman) that they'd check it out and I had dropped and because the engine light was on. I was told by the salesman (only appropriate to call him a salesman) that they'd check it out and I gave them permission to inspect the car and see what was wrong with it. I was told that the 240 charge for doing a computer reading on the car would be applicable to any repairs made to the car. Upon picking it up, the suspension was up, and I noticed that the roll bar light was on. I pressed the button for the roll bar and was covered with hydraulic fluid from the passenger side latch. I called Keith McKenna, the salesperson, and he said that he and the mechanic were flabbergasted as to why this happened. Snowy conditions kept me from bringing the car back immediately, and since the suspension was raised, I assumed it would be safe to drive for 50 miles. I was wrong. The suspension dropped after 25 miles, and McKenna claimed that he told me that the car wasn't fixed, even though he had told me how lucky I was that it was only a small fluid problem. They refused to take responsibility for the broken latch that caused the hydraulic fluid to leak in the car even though it happened at their service station. They tried to charge me 2600 dollars to fix it. When I expressed outrage, Keith McKenna accused me of "trying to get a free lunch" out of the situation. As a result of driving the car with the suspension lowered after Helms Brothers supposedly fixed it, my car incurred serious damage, and Helms Brothers attempted to charge me a ludicrous price to fix the car. Long story short, I was lied to repeatedly by the salesperson, Keith McKenna, and when the general manager got involved, I was told they'd fix the problem at cost. However, on my bill, they charged me for 2.5 hours of work at 120 an hour, which is 2x as much as any other authorized repair shop charges. My car is in MUCH worse shape than it was in when I originally brought it into the shop. I'm afraid to drive it, after picking it up the second time and driving roughly 3 miles home, I began to smell a strange odor, like something was burning. So, for 1000 dollars, I brought a car with a small problem into their shop and left with a badly damaged vehicle that will be incredibly expensive to fix. I would NEVER recommend Helms Brothers to anyone, and strongly suggest that anyone considering using them reconsider immediately. They are completely dishonest and McKenna has no knowledge of the product that he is supposed to advise his customers on. His dishonesty is blatant and he had the nerve to try and shake my hand when I came for the car the second time. I refused to shake it. Do NOT use Helms Brothers, they will rip you off and in my case, leave you worse off than where you started. More

This place is a farce...Nothing gets completed right or totally...Their service staff is either underqualified or trained to not finish something in order for you to return at a later date...I will never r totally...Their service staff is either underqualified or trained to not finish something in order for you to return at a later date...I will never recommend or send anyone I know to that facility for any reason...No one responds/returns phone calls...You have to call on your own to find out the status of your vehicle to only be told it will not be ready until tomorrow...They give the illusion of confidence but fail to deliver everytime...I hope people see this before going. This service facililty is not very productive...Not only are they not available on weekends but you can't bring your car in at 2 o'clock and have someone look at it without having to leave your vehicle over are they not available on weekends but you can't bring your car in at 2 o'clock and have someone look at it without having to leave your vehicle overnight...This policy stands and the reps don't even ask why exactly you want to come in...If I needed a bulb changed it would have to wait until tomorrow...That is unexceptable...Also you arrive with one problem and leave with 6...Ridiculous!!!! I have had two horrible experiences with Helms brothers. My first was over ten years ago with a C230. Their service department are complete frauds! The NY post article about the mechanic who stole someones My first was over ten years ago with a C230. Their service department are complete frauds! The NY post article about the mechanic who stole someones car doesn't surprise me. I had my c230 repaired at Helms and made sure to ask them to keep the parts the would replace to ensure they would not repair things unnecessarily and charge my insurance company, leading me to a higher insurance rate. Sure enough, they said that they fixed all sorts of parts they did not and charged me $6500. Sure enough they had none of the parts I asked them to keep. When I pressed the issue, they brought back parts from E classes and other cars trying to fool me. They must have thought I was an idiot. Finally I worked it out that they would refund me $1000. Years since, I figured I would try the sales side to check on pricing. They said they would give me aggressive pricing and get me a great deal where Helms Bros would "only make a little money". Sure enough, their prices were on average $5-$10K higher than other dealers advertised prices. I ultimately bought my car from Sovereign and they did a good job a getting me a good deal so far. More
I have way too much to write, but i'll put it in a nutshell. I had a sales lady who never, NEVER returned phone calls, and would tell me to call her to remind her about things because she was busy, i nutshell. I had a sales lady who never, NEVER returned phone calls, and would tell me to call her to remind her about things because she was busy, i mean who's selling cars here, me or her? After putting my car in a wholesale auction no one ever called me back for the auction results, turns out that my sales lady went on vacation without telling me. I go to the dealer, speak to the sales manager, threaten to go to another dealer for business so they have me speak to another sales guy. He runs up some numbers, tells me the offer from the wholesaler for my trade in and tells me my new c300 will be here in July, its May and has already been a month since we first visited the dealer. My sales lady comes back, tells me the car will be here second week of June the LATEST, she'll call me when the car is in. I plan a family trip for the weekend of the second week of June. Its wednesday of the second week...no phone call. So i call and she says she doubts the car will be in by then, i get mad tell her she told me it will be, im going to pay cancellation fees for my trip she tells me she'll cal me back with updates. Never calls me, i call her, finally my car is in. Every time i speak to her (after hunting her down) she thanks me for my patience. Upon delivery of the car she tells me im going to get a survey online, to just give everyone a good review...and brushed it off. I get the survey...i answer honestly, stating the sales person was not good, i would never buy another car from them, etc. A few days later she calls to say shes dissapointed in the survey and that it cost her in the thousands. Next time stay on top of your job and treat clients with a little more haste and you wont have to ask your customers to lie on a survey and it wont cost you "in the thousands". More
