I'm a sucker Came in to get key fob fixed .told the guy my key fab broke apart and I replaced the top half of fab shell with a shell i bought online..and it still Came in to get key fob fixed .told the guy my key fab broke apart and I replaced the top half of fab shell with a shell i bought online..and it still wouldn't start car. The Locks buttons worked because the bottom chip was still in tact. He told me he had to see if it was able to be reprogramed and I would be charging 70$ regardless if it couldn't be programmed. ..(just sign here to agree)... He already knew it wasn't, going to reprogram because I just told him I replaced the top part of the fab which didn't have the chip in it... but I didn't know .till after he told me that the key fab has two chips ,top and bottom. Good way to squeeze another 70$ out. 180. $ and 2.5 hours later. .. This is why I don't go to dealers to service my cars... things haven't changed .. but I needed a spare... If I knew that there wasn't a chip in the top part , I could have just said I need the top chip replaced and reprogrammed. .saving me the useless 70$ diagnostic test... just sign here to agree ...lol 180$$ for a key?? Never again.! More
