Consumer Fraud I bought a used car from this dealer in August 2019. On the test drive I noticed the check engine light was on otherwise the vehicle seemed OK. I gave them a deposit to hold the vehicle and on the deposit slip they wrote "refundable if check engine light is a problem". They turned off the check engine light and told me the vehicle was fine so I completed the purchase. When I left the dealer lot the check engine light was off; before I got home (less than 10 miles) the check engine light was back on and showing a code for a transmission problem. They refused to return my money and cancel the sale. Five days later the transmission failed completely. I took them to small claims court but they hired an attorney who got the case thrown out on old case law - not the merits of this case.
