I was in the "market" for a new car. I looked at many, many cars. My neighbor told me that Volkswagon was a good car! I never, ever thought about buying a Volkswagon!!! I decided, since I look at many, many cars. My neighbor told me that Volkswagon was a good car! I never, ever thought about buying a Volkswagon!!! I decided, since I looked at everything else, I might as well check out the VWs! Someone gave me Scot Pfundston's name so I gave him a call. I told him that I was looking for a hatchback, and he told me that I needed to check out the Golf. He invited me to stop in sometime. When I made my first visit on a Thursday afternoon, he had me sit in the Golf. I was impressed! The Golf just felt different, it was a "solid" car. Everything about it was better than other cars I had checked out! Scott was GREAT! He was not a"pushy" salesman. He gave me the facts and answered all of my questions. He even showed me other cars because he knew I had a "tight" budget! He was patient with my phone calls, text messages and numerous visits!!! He has a wonderful sense of humor and made my car buying experience at Harper fun!!! Yes, I did buy the Golf, and Scott took time with me setting up my Bluetooth, radio stations and told me everything about the car. He even showed me the service area and introduced me to Jeff, one of the Service Consultants! I would like to thank Cliff for his patience and understanding when he had to rewrite my contract! I am long winded, so I put the summary first, then the whole story. Overall, I found all the staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable, and the salesman I bought the car from ensured that I found the ri whole story. Overall, I found all the staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable, and the salesman I bought the car from ensured that I found the right place to have the maintenance done (we talked back and forth for several hours until he was sure I was good,) and still checks in every now and then. The Harper family seems to be very close, everyone is willing to lend a hand whether its the guy across the hall or the dealership across the road. I was and am very well looked after, the staff bent over backwards to help me come to a good decision. My car is wonderful and I have already put over a fifteen hundred miles on it in the past four weeks. I would highly recommend the Harper family of dealerships and specifically Scott Pfundston at VW. He is one of the friendliest and most considerate salesman I have met and really approaches the client with their interests in mind. The whole nine yards; I have been looking for a used car for quite some time. After great deal of research I had my heart set on a specific brand and year, and after missing the chance to buy one I was reconsidering my options. I had been to many dealerships in the area test-driving cars to gauge whether my impression of 'reasonably priced dream car' still fit. So far, it had. I walked into the dealership and as usual met with the first available salesman. I had seen a car on their website I wanted to drive, and after a few questions the salesman seemed to accept that I was only there for a test drive and we headed right out to the car. It drove better than I had expected, and I was impressed with the car overall. We talked at length about a great many things, but only touched briefly on cars while driving, again he didn't try to push other brands or makes, only asked how I'd come to my decisions and how I felt about the cars I'd driven. When we got back we talked for the first time about how I liked the tested car, and about my price limit and range (fairly standard- I've come to expect this after the number of dealerships I've been to.) I told him and even though the price I gave was a quarter lower than the asking price of the car he honestly considered it. Of course the answer was that they couldn't afford to sell the car at that price, but he thought the car might be within my limits. He went to talk to his manager and offered a price that was within my limits, if barely. We went out to the car again, and then when I asked about records we went right across the street to the Infiniti dealership, where all the service had been done. We knocked on the back door and they didn't seem to mind booing up a computer and printing the service records all the way back to when the car was new (perks of a family run business I guess.) We got back and talked over the price a bit more, and in the end I decided to buy it. It was a beautiful car and though a bit more expensive I was worried it was too good. The deciding factor wasn't that the car was there and I could afford it, but that I loved the car and was unlikely to find a better deal on anything close to it anywhere (as I mentioned, I do my research.) Of course, having brought down the price they didn't fix a few things that could have used it. I ended up spending $500 in maintenance (brake pads mostly) but nothing major, and my mechanic confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the car that wasn't discussed when I purchased it- they were honest admitting their product wasn't perfect, which speaks volumes. Again I recommend Scott. Although all the salesman I met at VW were engaging, Scott was there from the moment I walked in to help me make the right choice. More
Farid was very professional and helpful when we purchased our new car. I was a previous owner of a beetle which I loved. When I went to Harper to look on the lot, Farid greeted me and was very helpful but not pushy. I appreciated that so when I returned the next day with my husband, Farid is who I wanted to buy my car from. I have told several of my co-workers about Farid and how helpful he was and encouraged them to go to Harper to let Farid sell them the their next car. Everyone at Harper was very, nice professional and caring. I am a repeat customer and love my new beetle! More
