I dealt with Joe'l Arances, who initially impressed me as a friendly, straightforward, individual, but who ended up lying to me and refusing to provide the promised customer service required to set up the Bl a friendly, straightforward, individual, but who ended up lying to me and refusing to provide the promised customer service required to set up the BlueLink security system for my newly leased 2022 Hyundai Tucson. In the course of inquiring about the car prior to leasing it, I asked Joe'l straightforwardly if there would be any other fees involved, in addition to the residual value of the car, if I were to purchase it at the end of the lease. He told me unequivocally, "absolutely none" -- and repeated it twice. Two hours later, as the finance manager finally got around to the end of the sales process -- producing the contract for my signature -- the contract stated there would be a $400 fee if the vehicle was purchased at the end of the lease (in addition to the residual value). When I pointed out to Joe'l that he had told me there would be no such fee, he said, "Oh, well that is a standard fee. If you don't want to purchase the car, that's OK." So the answer at this dealership, to being held to their quotes, is to tell you that you don't need to purchase the vehicle if you don't want to. Then, after leasing the car, Joe'l told me he would email me a password to set up the BlueLink security system for the car, which, if it were to be stolen, would allow me, as the owner, to turn off the car and lock the doors, remotely from my smartphone. I did not receive such an email from Joe'l, and despite multiple phone calls to him and his associate, Karen, two days after purchase, I have still not received the appropriate password. Joe'l had promised to send me the email again upon one of those calls, but did not; Karen gave me a phone number to call, which took me to a recorded sales presentation for health insurance, and then gave me a message from Joe'l that the password was '1-2-3-4.' Once I went to the BlueLink site, that password did not even have the required number of digits that were required. So truthfulness in sales presentation: Zero; Post sales promises and support: Zero. Oh, did I mention that on my last call to Joe'l, when he said he didn't have time to talk to me then, I asked him to connect me to the sales manager and he hung up on me, then blocked calls from my number. FINANCE MGR, ROGER RUVALCABA He presented me with an online contract to sign, which stated in part that I could ask for a hard copy before signing -- which I did, as the contract was long, and the hard copy was easier to read. As it turned out, the figures on the digital online copy and those on the hard, paper copy, were different. When I asked him about that discrepancy, he said it was two different programs, and was "out of his control." The category was "Estimated fees and taxes, on the hard copy, the amount was $3504.66, and on the computerized copy, the amount was $4208.94. I asked the finance manager what those fees were for, and he said he didn't know. I also pointed out to him that the digital contract had 28 paragraphs, but the hard copy only 18. Again he said he didn't know why. I discovered that the additional paragraphs were on the back of the hard copy. I, as a first-time customer, figured that out; He, as the FINANCE MANAGER, did not have a clue? Today, two days later, reviewing the contract, I see that before he put it in the envelope, the finance manager drew a line through the paragraph on "How Your Monthly Payment is Determined," and marked it 'VOID.' -- This, without discussion with, nor presentation to, me, prior to giving me the envelope with the contract in it. Unscrupulous, to say the least! More
