I thought from beginning to end the experience I had at Hampton Ford was top of the line customer service at its finest. I never felt like I was being talked down to or pushed into doing something I did no Hampton Ford was top of the line customer service at its finest. They really went above and beyond to get me the best deal possible and because of this I have been telling everyone and their mother to go there to purchase a car. Everyone at this dealership were so warm and friendly and well educated on the types of cars and trucks they have on the lot. I plan on this not being the only car I purchase from them. More
My 09 Sonata began having issues with the transmission 3 weeks after I bought the car. I read multiple reviews for the car and it appears the issue I was having was quite common. I brought my car to Hyundai weeks after I bought the car. I read multiple reviews for the car and it appears the issue I was having was quite common. I brought my car to Hyundai since it's still under warranty. They tried a few simple fixes but were not able to resolve the issue. At this point they are replacing the entire transmission. I'm very happy with their service and them being a brand who honors their warranties. More
This was the 3rd dealership I had visited this day and was immediately greeted by Chu. Other dealerships I had visited allowed me to walk around for atleast 25 minutes unattended. I instantly felt comfortable with Chu and she patiently assisted in road tests and all questions I had and walked me through the best way to get the vehicle that I wanted! Once the car was chosen, she gave me a tour of the service department while I awaited finace and assisted with the transfer of my belongings to my new vehicle. Chu walked me through the entire vehicle, set up my phone and made this transaction so painless and enjoyable. I have purchased many vehicles and this by far was the most enjoyable. All of the staff were friendly and the General Manager Brian Hovelle was so friendly and attentive. I would most definitely recommend this dealership to my family and friends and plan on returning. After my initial online inquiry, Ana was very good about checking in with me periodically to see if I was still interested in making a purchase. On Thursday 1/26, I told Ana I would stop by to test drive a 2012 Veloster. The car was at the front of the dealership ready to go when I arrived. I met Susan. She told me about the car and then we were off on the test drive. I liked the car and was interested in finding out if we could make the financing work. I had filled out a credit application online the day before I went to the dealership thinking it would expedite the process. Susan filled out more forms with me and then told me that the person who handles the financing was off on Thursdays and that she would review it in the morning and I would hear first thing. I have purchased several cars in my life and have never been to a dealership where there is no one available to evaluate and approve/disapprove a credit application. With every vehicle I have ever purchased the whole process has only taken a couple hours at most. Susan asked if I could leave a deposit to hold the vehicle while my application was reviewed. I wrote a check for $100 thinking the check was being held pending credit approval. The check was processed the next day and money withdrawn from my account. I waited all Friday morning for an answer. Finally at 3:00 I called Susan. I was told that the person in financing was busy all day and that she would get back to me on Saturday morning. Saturday morning came and went and at 2:00 Susan called to tell me that they had only found one bank that would accept the loan but the payment was much higher than I had said I was comfortable with. She said they would continue to work on it and she would call me back either way. I never received another call. Sunday afternoon I drove back to the dealership to get my $100 back. I was told there was no one in the business office and that I would have to come back on Monday or wait for it to be mailed. This is the worst customer service I have ever personally experienced. I am not upset about being refused the loan. I am upset that there was no one on staff to handle financing when I came in and then when I came back for my money, no one in the business office. I would think that those areas are very important in the purchasing process. The worst part of the experience was being told that someone would contact me and when and then it never happened. All I wanted was an answer one way or the other. I am in customer service and when I tell someone I will call them with an answer I follow through and call them even if it's to give them an update and let them know I'm still working on it. The staff at Hampton Ford-Hyundai is very pleasant but I feel very disappointed by the experience. More
It was such a pleasure working with Ms.Macdonald and Tim McCoy who showed me the best way to get the vehicle that I wanted! I was looking at getting a new truck. So I went to the Ford website and used their application to built up a truck the way I wanted it built. I then had the option to request a quote from a local dealer. At first I had picked Portsmouth Ford. After several phone calls, I was still unable to get a quote for the truck. At this point I switched to Hampton Ford. I got a prompt response from Chris Lowry with a fair price. I then asked about some trucks they had in stock and what their price would be. I asked for a test drive and Chris asked me when I wanted to come in. I said Friday, and it turns out that was his day off, but he was happy to come in just to let me test drive a truck. I liked the truck. After we left the dealer, I was talking to my girlfriend about the truck and comparing it to the Chevy. We both decided that we liked Chris and the dealer enough that we wanted to go with Ford. I did a little more searching and found the truck I wanted at a near by dealer. AlthoughI could have driven there, I wanted to get it through Hampton Ford. Chris gave me a quote on the truck. I came in and got a quote on my trade in. I thought both were fair numbers. So we made the deal. They had the truck ready for me in two days. This has to have been the easiest and most pleasant purchase I've made at a dealer. Chris never tried to push anything on me. He was always ready with an answer. He didn't try to fake things he didn't know. When I was closing the deal, they said they offered extended warranties but it was up to me. They said I could add it at any time. I pointed out that Hampton Ford offers a lifetime warranty on the drive train if you have all of your service done there. I figure that's good enough for me. He was so friendly and helpful that he immediately put me at ease. He was patient with all my questions, informative and didn't push anything on me at all. I got a fantastic used car for a very fair price. He had excellent customer service every step of the way. Any time I need to buy a car in the future, this is where I am going. And I would most definitely recommend them to anyone in the market. More
Normally I would never leave a poor rating for any company, but I was extremely un-impressed with the astronomical price I was given to repair my truck with this company. I took the truck in letting t company, but I was extremely un-impressed with the astronomical price I was given to repair my truck with this company. I took the truck in letting the techs know I needed a New exhaust Manifold (mine had a dime sized hole in it) I rented a Vehicle through their Enterprise on site for 2 days because I was told it would take a couple days to fix. Later that day I receive a call from service telling me it will be $4,300 to fix my $4,000 truck. (2000 Ford Expedition) WHen I asked what that entailed, the break down was I needed New Brakes & Rotors all Around ($800) 2 New Manifolds ($2,400), an Evap Tube and all my fluids flushed and replaced. And a Serpentine Belt that was about to Snap! Essentially after the break down about $3k in Labor. I picked up the truck, Paid $90 for them to tell me all these problems with my vehicle. I then went to a Garage in MA and asked him to fix everything ford had quoted. The Mechanic used ALL Original Ford Parts which totaled $650. 2 Brand New Manifolds, an Evap Tube, an Extension Piece the Evap tube needed, all the bolts and everything else. He said my Belt was fine. He also found one of my studs Broken and Laying in my HUB when he removed the Hub Cap, which he said would of occurred from who ever put the tire on last (FORD) All of which came to $1,090 total price for Parts and Labor. And took 7 hours to complete. I Did my own Brakes, as FORD Stated needed to be replaced so badly, which was a load of xx. All 4 Rotors were at 14 3/4, State Legal is must be replaced under 14. and all the pads were still at half their wear mark, no where near needing replacing for another year. Since I had already bought the parts, and pulled my truck apart I replaced them anyways. Cost of $175 for Rotors, Ceramic Pads and a $30 Torch wrench set I needed to Pull my Calipers. Total Cost $1, 265 Ford Price $4,300 I Saved: $3,045 The reason Im posting this? I can't even begin to imagine how many people this service center has ripped off. Especially women and the Elderly who have no clue about pricing or parts or knowledge of vehicle service. Im a 31 year old women, IM assuming they thought I knew nothing about vehicles. Lucky for me, they assumed wrong! More
Stuart and the dealership were very helpful and went to great lengths to help us when our old car broke down. This was on a Saturday, in the afternoon.
